When I arrived at the restaurant, I sat in the garden and had a glass of wine and a glass of icy cold tap water. I received the menu only to find that the daily menu posted online was not the same as the daily menu offered in the restaurant. Oh well. I ordered from the permanent menu. The garden was clean and nice, the service was quick and efficient. The food was decent, vegetables were fresh, chicken was overdone and dry, unfortunately, and hard to cut. The reason I am giving one star here is that the waiter refused to provide me an itemized list of the charges, and they didn't take credit cards, so there was no official receipt printed. I paid cash as this was the only option, and I was definitely overcharged based on the prices listed in the menu. The waiter also asked my for extra money for a tip. I don't speak Czech, and wasn't able to argue. I basically paid the sadly not unusual "foreigners tax" for my meal. I should've waited for my Czech husband to get out of work and went to dinner with him instead. No one ever gives me a hard time when I'm with him. I would've likely paid the same amount elsewhere for a meal for two people. Never again, U Kozla.

Plus it seems that their coffee has gotten way way better. It is still a little pricey, but I find it worth it just to hear how good my horrible Czech is.

We went here after going to register for residency. The appointment was so early (8:15am) that we…read moredidn't eat breakfast yet. It is a rarity to be able to find breakfast and even more so, this early in the morning. I was happily surprised. We were served long fluffy hot omelettes that were light on the cheese and ham. I couldn't actually finish the thing, because it was too big for my stomach, but unexpectedly marveled at this thinly folded egg. We also had crunchy, ever so slightly glazed baguettes with butter and marmalade in the cutest little jars. The Gourmand also came with a croissant that had slivers of baked dough on flaky. There is a ginger tea that will kick your cold right in the tookus. It worked for me. There is an interesting drink that neither of us has tried before. It's hot fresh squeezed orange juice with ginger tea. There are big windows for people watching and quite a few people walk past. Especially funny is when someone is double parked and traffic piles up behind them. We will recommend it to visitors that don't want the humdrum of the hostel or hotel breakfast.

This place is one stop shopping center in the area. Although, I prefer not to grocery shop here…read moresince it's always packed and they have limited supplies. They do have a great selection of appliances. I bought an iron for just 200CZK. However, they definitely lack customer service at this location. I've asked for help a plenty of times and no employees seemed to care. I would rather take tram to Andel to shop than here. Shopping at this location can be a struggle.
