We started with sparkling water, proseccos, margherita pizza and a salad. Those were delivered promptly. Next I ordered the linguine frutti di mare which was sooo delicious and the seafood was so fresh (prawns, mussels, scallops). However, there was an unsavory taste left in our mouths after my friend's food had hair in it and she asked to return it to the kitchen. A lady server came over and aggressively insisted that the hair belonged to my friend because it had to be "extensions". This was an unpleasant experience to say the least My friend declined another dish from the kitchen and we shared my pasta which we both enjoyed but I'm sad she wasn't able to enjoy her meal. Overall, we still really enjoyed the food we did try.

We each got our own pizza since we weren't able to find a decent one since Roma. It paid off and we both demolished each one over the course of our conversation with our friendly neighbor. The patio is divine and the staff friendly. Inside was nice to but the evening was too nice to spend indoors. My husband wants to go back tonight for our last night in town as well.

You have to walk ~15 minutes through a neighborhood and outlook point to get here (very pretty walk through a quiet street with villas that ends in a scenic view of the lake and Como). If you go during an off hour (we went around 4pm), it should be pretty quiet - it does pick up a lot more around meal times. Menu prices are affordable, especially considering the amazing views - just unmatched. The couple that runs the cafe is also super sweet and hardworking. This place is quaint, intimate, and has probably the best view of the lake ever. It was so fun taking the Funicular up to the top of the mountain and taking photos and just stopping IN AWE the whole route up there. The owner and his wife are so kind and hospitable. The food was unreal (we had the bruschetta, bolognese, and tiramisu) as was the wine. The music playing helped keep the ambiance romantic while the customer service made the experience unforgettable. My husband and I travelled here on our honeymoon and have said eating here was possibly one of the top 5 moments of our lives. I can't recommend it enough! Thank you Balcone Sul Lago!!!
