After ordering our main dishes a waitress served a small plate with really delicious garlic knots and 2 dips. Our pies were damn good. I had a fresh babyspinach-bluecheese 'GORGONZOLA' thin-crust one. Damn - one of the best pizzas i ever ate. My girl chose a vegetarian thick-crust one - i forgot the name but it was also very good. The crust of these pies i crisp and moist at the same time. This is definitely a place we will remember. Nice interior und good service.

There seemed to be a few reds and a few whites on the menu, each available as a glass or bottle. Service was slow and spotty, but I didn't mind, I was enjoying the patio and had conveyed no sense of urgency or need for attention to the waitstaff. Outdoor ambiance is casual and permits smoking. I did not inquire for an English menu so I am unsure if it existed, Italian food is pretty universal in my opinion. They accept cash and bank card (debit card) only. They do not accept credit cards. If they are confused by a non- Maestro debit card, simply insist they try, it will work.

It's located in a side street of the pedestrian zone, so easy to get to, but easily overlooked since it's a half-level below street level. Rather small, with about a dozen tables and a limited bar area, but outside tables in the summer. Due to the size, reservations are recommended, unless you're on your own or as a couple. Large groups could have problems fitting, so best for 2-4 people. When I came in on a Saturday evening at 18:30, all the free tables were reserved (but for later in the evening), so was still able to be seated. Started off with a nice cream of tomato soup, then turkey stuffed with avocado from the seasonal menu. There's also a good selection of pasta, pizza, as well as some meat and fish dishes. Service was very prompt. Prices are slightly above average, but definitely worth the price. Not your run-of-the-mill Italian on the corner, and has the customers to match. The staff was very friendly (offering the table in advance of the following reservation). Definitely recommended for Italian food in an upper-scale atmosphere (but certainly not pretentious).
