It isn't a luxury experience, but the food tastes good, the waitstaff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. It might be a little touristy, but this hasn't turned it into the kind of place with the 100 hundred page menu or the solicitor outside trying to convince you to spend money at their restaurant.

The second was around room temperature so could have been chilled a little. We ordered a nice bruschetta plate and an antipasto plate for the apps. Bread was nice and crisp with fresh toppings. The antipasto plate contained a wide variety of items that had something for everyone - a variety of meats, cheeses, shrimp, mushrooms, etc. For my main dish I ordered the grilled fish platter. My colleagues we surprised at the rudeness but I guess when you're this highly rated and it's after hours, you're entitled to doing things a certain way. That being said I tried two different dishes because people couldn't eat anymore. I tried the veggie ravioli and the black noodle seafood dish. The veggie ravioli I thought was bland but the sauce was quite good. And the black noodle seafood dish tasted quiet fishy which wasn't bad and the noodles were different but I enjoyed it. The place was really loud and smelled horrible like burning oil. It was like putting oil in my nose and Inhaling it. The food was a little pricy from what was being presented I'd say. The beer I ordered was Leffe. And it was a better version of a Weizen beer which are common here in Köln. A nice blonde beer with a smooth finish. Maybe worth a go one more time to actually order the meal I want.

I was spot on and the couple of miles walk there and back only made it better. We started off with the Godfather Pizza. Crust was perfect and the salami with the olives were incredible. The waiter then brought us three pasta dishes of his choice, and divided them into thirds. The pesto with shrimp was the best but the others were great too. Each pasta was cooked perfectly. We ended with a steak which again was split between the there of us, very tasty and cooked as requested, vegetables on the side were a nice compliment. No room for dessert but they all looked super yummy. Next time I'm in Cologne, I will for sure make another visit.
