We went on a Wednesday and were confused as to why only a few tables were full and mainly tourists but, it may be because it was during the week.

Our waiter knew just enough English and we knew just enough Spanish/ Italian to get by. The menu here is QR code, but there is little cell reception there for our internet to work. Overall the food was delicious. This penne was so cheesy and tomatoey. The mussels were cooked in a simple salt and pepper broth really allowing their natural flavors to pop. Both the mussels and the lemons were from the Almafi coast!

A delicious meal to welcome us to Salerno!!…read more The gentleman who took our order was fantastic! It was very crowded, busy, and we got there about 45 minutes before closing, but he welcomed us and took such good care of us! I had the bream and my husband had cod with marinara. They were perfection!! The tables were small and crowded, which felt a little tight, but I wouldn't change a thing!

Its location near the amphitheater entrance of the Pompeii Archeological Park makes it very easy to find. The food was fantastic, the pasta was perfect. The service was absolutely top-notch as well. I highly recommend this restaurant for a casual evening with friends, or a quiet evening with a date.

The desert was heavenly, and the pasta is home-made. But the number-one best thing about this restaurant was the service. I will definitely be coming back in the future, and I insist anyone coming through Pompeii visit.

We had a lovely lunch under lemon trees here. Our favorites:…read more* Scoglio 1903: seafood pasta with lots of mussels, clams, and shrimp * Spaghetti and clams: made with parsley oil, so not your typical spaghetti and clams * Cubotto di manzo: beef steak The restaurant is best for their seafood dishes, although the beef steak was seared well and probably one of the better steaks I've had in Italy. The non-seafood pastas were just so-so. We also ordered the pasta with truffles and pasta alla Nerano (pasta with zucchini sauce); both were forgettable unfortunately (1 star off). Bread was freshly baked in house and tasted amazing. Fresh basil leaves and lemon zest were added to olive oil, which was a nice change from traditional bread and plain olive oil. Service could be a little bit more attentive, because we were not given a plate to discard shells from our seafood pasta or a steak knife for steak. We had to ask for them specifically. LOL.

Avoid like the plague. Disgraceful…read more EDIT: Your disingenuous reply is completely inappropriate. There is no excuse for the horrible, rude behavior of the older lady. It was not a girl (the girl standing there was quite polite and felt bad about her superior's distasteful tone)... The elder lady specifically disrespected me and dismissed me with a clear and emphatic look of scorn before turning her back on me, assuming I'm American (a crime?). An embarrassment of a hospitality owner or employee. I've been all over this amazing country and have only had wonderful experiences... including tonight at the place we went to down the street after this debacle. I was speaking Italian, so certainly no communication problem, and this rude old lady came in and said, "Table for 5?! Hah! This is not McDonald's," and walked away. Wow. Shame on them. Plenty of other good options. First negative restaurant/interpersonal experience ever in this country after coming here a dozen times over the past 25 years.
