I usually come visit my family in Liguria and always come back to Ristorante Toula' for pizza. They make it really good here. The dough is soft and the crust is fluffy and easy to cut with your knife. My favorite pizza is a specialty that the owner, Gianni, doesn't have on the menu. It's a three cheese pizza made with mozzarella, stracchino and brie. He then adds a mixture of diced tomatos marinated in oil, garlic and pesto. After it comes out of his wood burning oven, he places a layer of thinly sliced prosciutto crudo or bresaola, your choice. I opted for the bresaola. It was delicious! The bresaola is warm and moist and goes so well with that garlicky, cheese combo.
My 7 year old daughter went for a plain tomato and mozzarella cheese Pizza Margarita and a bowl of french fries, which we shared. The fries are thick, steak cut fries. Like all European restaurants, they ask you if you want ketchup or mayo for your fries. My cousin placed a dollop of both on top of each other, mixed them together and showed my daughter how good this pink mixture was on the fries. Now she does this back at home!
All we needed was some beer and soda and we were quite full. I ended my meal with a nice espresso coffee and the owners offered me a shot of Sardinian Mirto liqueur made from Myrtle tree berries. I think I'll stick to a local grappa next time. This is a great little local place, which is only open in the evening. It's right across from the tennis courts and there's a parking lot for customers. read more
