I hate marinated shitake mushrooms, and having them on a pizza does not make it any better. The smell is pungent, and so is the taste. While other kinds of mushrooms have a milder flavor that brings out the meat flavor in a pizza, shitake mushrooms overpower the rest of the flavor of the pizza. Even when removed, I can still taste the residual mushroom on the pizza. The rest of the toppings were average, but the crust/dough was nice and crispy and hot.
