I've always been a loyal Pharmaprix customer when I lived in Montreal. In the past, it was my go-to…read morepharmacy. I always liked the lay-out of the stores, the wider aisles, the excellent lighting and the selection of products. The hours of operation are great, too (opening at 8 on weekdays, 9 on weekends, and closing at 10pm every day of the week).
In recent years, when I've visited Montreal, I noticed that the prices at all Pharmaprix stores have gone up astronomically (as they have at Jean Coutu stores as well), so I try to get whatever I can elsewhere. Still, when there are sales here, the prices are reasonable.
My mother and I visited this store today, Saturday, at 11 am. We were the only people in the store. We were greeted upon entry (nice!), and the store was bright and warm and immaculately clean.
Whole shelves of sinus and cold medications were empty. I suspect this is a nation-wide issue, but it was more stark here than in other pharmacies I've been to in the past few weeks.
I went to the pharmacy counter in the rear of the store to enquire about an OTC medication that I'm having problems finding in Montreal (yet another manufacturer back-order affecting the supply in the province). They didn't have it here, either, but I really appreciate how the pharmacist tech Kevin said he'd look in the back for the med, and not only did he look but he also asked his manager about the status of the medication. This is more than any other place has done for me recently; they usually just say no, they don't have it and they don't know when it'll be in. Here, Kevin and the manager actually checked and came to the counter to chat with me about it. Very nice.
My mom and I got a few cough drops and snacks and went to the check out. The gal ringing us out was SO nice and friendly. IMO the staff at this store makes you feel welcome and between that personal touch and the cleanliness and selection of products here, this is one of the best Pharmaprix stores around.
