Beware of this place! Way over priced! Plus I have been charged for items I did not order in the past. I think this is intentional and I'll explain why. I bought a three piece dinner with a small extra side. It came to over $16! I was with another person and we were going to share. So I asked for an extra roll. They said that would be extra. I said I just paid $16 and and you won't give me a roll? Really? How cheap is that? Come to find out the rolls are dried up stale rolls from Fantini's that probably cost them a penny. The chicken thighs that they give you have very little meat on them. This tells me that they are profit motivated and not customer motivated. Better off going to Shaw's deli and getting your fried or broiled chicken there for a lot less! Chicken connection get over your penny pinching. Lower your prices! Your not in Beverly Hills your in Plaistow! Charging for rolls! They should be free!! read more

Chicken fingers cooked like you would at home. Fresh chicken not frozen and a variety of sides of fair to middling quality. An interesting and slightly better option than the usual fast food options. Not high end eating but good solid food at a fast food pace. read more

The Chicken Connection was the first restaurant I went to after a six month stint atop Mount Washington doing meteorological research for a prominent University. I'm not sure if living off dehydrated soups and dried fruits for six months was the sole reason that my experience at the Chicken Connection was so wonderful, but it probably didn't hurt. When I was in basic training down South we'd go to chicken joints all the time. The fried chicken at this establishment was very reminiscent of the homey, crunchy, juicy dish I remember from those long ago days. The chef here (it was a Thursday?) seems to have a wonderful understanding of the proper deep-frying technique, which is made even easier when your poultry is so fresh (not frozen.) My assumption is that the macaroni and cheese is prepared with a whisked warm milk/flour mixture to ensure such a lump-free sauce. Some people prefer it crunchy but not me and my girlfriend. Delicious. The only thing about the roast vegetables we didn't enjoy was that there wasn't enough of them, as we found them to be perfectly caramelized on the exterior while remaining moist and tender. We are looking forward to another visit during our next trip to Sandown region. read more

Nice warm dinner when much of the area was in a big post-storm power outage. Got the last half-chicken but on this day it's understandable that they would run out. Asked for corn bread as one of the sides but apparently corn bread is not a side. Okay, too bad. As we're getting our food we ask about dinner rolls, which is usually included. All out of dinner rolls. Hmmm, but they still wouldn't swap out the stuffing for a piece of corn bread. That, I believe, is NOT understandable - and it was the owner serving us! Not the best way to run one's business in my opinion. $27 for dinner for two - nothing to drink, so a little pricey considering Market Basket sells a rotisserie chicken for less than $5. read more

I went here the other day and got a 1 piece white with mashed potatoes, corn and squash. It was very well seasoned, cooked and flavorful. I consider myself to be a pescatarian but will only eat chicken from time to time from Chicken Connection. I think that it is that good. The portion sizes are very good and I have always had a good experience here. My boyfriend also ordered the same thing as me. He said that it was very filling and it wasn't too greasy (like KFC). Well I had to comment on yesterday's let down at the Plaistow location. I know its a chicken place but I learned in the past that when they had the Fish & Chips special that it was fresh and just a wonderful meal. Except yesterday. Normally the bed of french fries is hot and just crisp on the outside. The soggy warm large portion that I was served was incapable of being finished. The fresh fish was slightly better but still limp in its own right. The tartar sauce was apparently not blended correctly or on the verge of being past it serve by date. Then the side of cole slaw wasn't a side dish at all because it was served in the same sauce dish as the tartar sauce? What's with that skimpy portion two fork full is a side dish? Did somebody turn over the kitchen to a trainee and let me be a victim instead of a happy satisfied customer? read more

Being from the south, I love their fried chicken with all the fixings. Went in and ordered a three piece Chix meal along with a large Chix soup! The soup is usually very good but this time the soup was a little too salty, way too many carrots and had Chix bones. I have not visited the Haverhill location. Perhaps the food is better there? We got one dinner plate which consisted of a half rotisserie chicken with roasted red potatoes and mac'n cheese and a second plate which consisted of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and stuffing. Where to start... The mashed potatoes and stuffing tasted like boxed instant potatoes/stuffing. Butter and salt wasn't going to save them. The roasted potatoes were roasted all right--to a crisp! Burnt and soggy, like they've been sitting out all day. The rotisserie chicken was good, just a tiny but dry. But I liked it and had some gravy to soften it up a bit. The fried chicken was also good but not very flavorful. The Mac n cheese was blah but seemed like real cheese might've been used. There wasn't much for spices--flavor was seriously lacking. Just went there today and got a chicken pot pie from their "already cooked display". Brought it home and it was cold, obviously can't put tin foil in the microwave so had to dump into a bowl. The consistency and texture of the pie was absolutely disgusting. The bread crust was hard as a rock I couldn't even tear it apart and didn't taste like bread. The chicken also looks gross with skin partially on it that has turned orange some how. I have NEVER had a problem with the Haverhill Connection but this Plaistow one sucks and I would rather eat my Frozen Pot Pies form Market Basket any day! read more

The chicken fingers were amazing as well as the squash and roasted potatoes, my daughter had the roasted chicken and said that too was delicious. The chicken was moist and seasoned to perfection. Overall I like the chicken connection. Although this location I wouldn't ever return to.. The manager or the lady that is in charge over there is very rude to her staff . She made me very uncomfortable .. And I was just getting food .. As a customer {and a person who works with people & children every day} I was embarrassed for her for displaying such ridiculous behavior . Really enjoy going to the chicken connection the restaurant itself is always clean and organized. I typically get the tenders, mac and cheese and coleslaw, I've had the mashed potatoes as well. My friend and I were in the mood for some chicken so we stopped in at The Chicken Connection. It has a very varied menu (not just fried chicken). One freezer is full of home made meals and chicken pot pies. I bought a small chicken pot pie to make later and it was pretty good. The service is slow and the restaurant is cramped so I wouldn't suggest eating there but take-out works nicely. We decided to share a heated up chicken pot pie with some sides, including squash (so good!). It took a bit longer than expected to come and honestly, was just so so. Nothing too memorable for the price. I probably wouldn't stop in again but if I did then I'd try something other than the chicken pot pie as several people came in after us and were getting fried chicken (looked so good) and their orders were so fast compared to the chicken pot pie. read more

Seating: - There are a handful of tables if you wanted to dine in. Most people were getting takeout. Atmosphere: - Comparable to a sub shop. Food: - I ordered a chicken pot pie dinner plate. I chose macaroni and cheese / butternut squash as my sides. - The pot pie was great it tasted very fresh and had a "good" meat to vegetables ratio. - Now for the sides, both the macaroni and cheese and butternut squash were tasty. If I had to pick only one side again it would be tough, but the macaroni and cheese would be the winner. Love this place. Have been eating here since they opened in Plaistow. Always good food, good service. Best of all I had my Mom's 80th Birthday Party catered by Chicken Connection and it was spectacular. Food arrived hot and on time. They set it all up with chaffing dishes and utensils. I went to the Plaistow location a couple of Sundays ago, I called around 5:40 Pm, not realizing they close so early, to order a chicken dinner. The young girl (the one that is always there at the counter) was SO RUDE, and snappy at me I do not want to ever go back! I work in the area so I go their often and have always had a pleasant experience with all the employees, until this time around. If they didn't want to serve me she could have said so, and I would have gone elsewhere! Stop picking up the phone at 5:30 pm if you don't want anymore orders after that time OR change your closing time!! The attitude continued when I went in to pick it up, which was not called for since I got there at 6pm, and they were still cleaning up! I have placed many orders hear, including many large orders over the past couple of years, but I will think twice before giving them business ever again! Great place ! Good food at a reasonable price. Been many times and have tried just about everything on the menu. Portions are more than generous. Always leave full and satisfied. They also offer catering and have used them for a few parties. Always helpful with choices and knowledgable when questioning how much food is needed. We usually get lunch from them, and the woman who works during the day (my slip says Lisa...may or may not have been her name as there were a few other girls working at the time) is the nicest person I've ever encountered in the food industry.
