Small and busy location. Most the equipment is outdated and run down. I've been to other locations that are closer that are way better. Also who has two sanitizing stations maybe I missed one but two! Parking also sucks because it's connected to an apartment complex. Also yes I checked the crowed meter on the app it said 2 lines which that's not the point of my complaint. Overall a good gym. The current issue is a failure to repair the AC. Not sure why it has not been repaired after being broken for 2 to 3 months. With summer it is quite warm and humid in the afternoon. This is a franchise location. Any idea who may own it? Planet Fitness corporate in New Hampshire cannot do anything to facilitate repairs. read more

If you are looking for a gym that temps like the devil, you with pizza and donuts then hey this is the place for you. Not to mention the little tootsie rolls to help give you diabetes before you walk out the door. This is also the place where all the fit people go to show off (just my opinion) they come here to look at those who are fit and make themselves fell good. The trainers don't seem to be that well informed. (Again just from what I've gathered) Now why do we have to have a certain dress code (because they want everyone to feel comfortable) as if someone's else feelings are better than another's. If there was a way to give this negative stars I would. The manger and cancellation process at this facility is HORRIBLE. I've been billed twice in about 2.5 wks, and that how long I've been trying to cancel, but the manger was ALWAYS out, and you HAVE to send an email.. until today, when I finally get the manger who tell me he can cancel my membership, but will NOT refund the monthly and annual fees, and when I asked for someone above him he tell me that Colby is just going tell me the same thing. I fully intend to be refunded for all charges billed to me immediately It's ridiculous that ppl are forced to pay when they are recovering and it's not medically safe for them to be in these types of establishments. . DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS GYM! THEY WILL BILL YOU AND OFFER YOU NOTHING BUT HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A LACKLUSTER FACILITY IN RETURN. UPDATE: As of today the phone call and email submitted for cancellation has not been completed. The gym was a little small for my liking. Many machines are too close together and to top that off it gets very packed with people. Definitely a location that needs more space. Many machines have "temporarily out of order signs" and a few of the machines seem to be on their way to be temporarily out of order based on the three days I worked out at this location. I also ran into some type of issue with my account. The first day I checked in a young lady mentioned there was something wrong with my account. She said a message popped up and she asked me if I knew what it was about. The only thing I could think of was it was billing related. A few moments later she determined it was not billing related and then asked me again if I knew what it was. I was surprised she did not know what it was since she worked there. She almost did not let me work out there until she spoke with someone else and then called over to the home gym where I signed up. The express workout area is a joke. It says regularly monitored by staff. It's supposed to be one minute intervals .... People just use the machines 15-20 mins at a time. The people working out can't read and the staff doesn't know how to enforce simple etiquette/rules. read more

Great for when your starting out in my opinion. It's a smaller gym so it's easy to scout out the place and not feel overwhelmed. I've been going since November of last year and I really have no complaints. The staff always greets you when you come in and say goodbye when you leave. Bathrooms are normally clean and the gym area is clean as well. Since it is smaller beware of what time you plan on going to avoid going when it's super busy. read more

This place is actually pretty great! There is a lot of dislike from the fitness community around PF but this one is awesome. The machines are always clean and dust free. The employees are constantly walking around cleaning, vacuuming or helping the guests. One time when I came in the showers were dirty at 2:30pm but every other time they have looked pretty good for as busy as they are there. I can't say enough about the trainer Troncais. He is awesome. Friendly, helpful and always changing things up in our routine. I have been sore every single time when I workout with him. For $10 a month you cannot beat this gym and the free training classes. read more

Get on this ride and buckle up folks!!!! Well, I have been going to the PF on Marsh and Northwest Highway for a year now. I prefer to work out in the 30 minute express area and get my work out done and get out of there. Almost every time I go (which is every other day), there are people in there sitting on the machines and trading off for multiple sets. I skip over them but cannot finish my workout with them blocking the machines, and finally get frustrated enough to remind them the proper use of the area or go ask staff to intervene. It never works. The people sitting on the machines are rude and do not care about the signs or anyone else around them. Today I had enough. I skipped over the leg press while two very rude males shared the machine the whole time I was working through. I finally approched them and told them I had already skipped over the machine and before I could say anything else, I was verbally abused and told I had been taking pictures of them. Not true. My phone was on the ledge the whole time. The aggressive one of them told me to come with him (I did not) and went to tell the front desk (apparently) that I was taking pictures of them. His partner stood by silent, obviously embarrassed at the scene unfolding. A very tall African American man approached me, within three feet of me unmasked, and asked me of who and why I was taking pictures. I told him I was not and wanted to speak to a PF manager. Insert KAREN here. The complainant stood behind him nodding his head and yelling at me around the staff (accusing me of taking pictures, pulling a "gay" card, calling me honey, and telling me there is a "file on me" there and that a manager told him that!) A manager came (Vanessa with all her Human Resources training JK) and said we both had to be escorted out (after he would not stop hurling verbal lies and accusations) when all I did was defend myself responding to accusatory comments. I walked out. He was not escorted out and verbally accosted me again while leaving. Class act all around, right? These horrible individuals were just mad that I called them out on the misuse of the area. The staff constantly turns over and does not monitor the area. So my buck -25, 5 foot 4 self has to fend for myself. I will never set foot in there again. I am a respected registered nurse in the community and a Gulf War Veteran and have never experienced this kind of ignorant wanton behavior in a gym or other public setting. This was an utterly disgusting experience. So look at the cameras and see what really happened, PF. I was verbally accosted in your establishment. I will never step foot in that sad place again. All I needed was one more reason to take my business elsewhere. read more

Not a bad gym for most things, but if you like to use the smith machines and can't go at a super weird hour then seek a different gym. They only have 3 smith machines and you are guaranteed a decent wait if you workout after work. Really my only reason for the two star rating but it's an easily fixable issue. This review is only for this location of PF. I've been to a few gyms for trails and in guest passes because I move a bit and I don't want to be stuck in a contract. PF is low priced, clean, and a judgement free zone. Like every gym they charge an annual fee of about $60 to $70. This is the down side but a gym is a business so I understand it. Everyone at the counter is always nice and helpful. The new equipment is perfect. It's a gym and I come here to sweat and get some gains and that's exactly what's it's there for. :P Thank you, PF. read more

Planet fitness has terrible contract terms and they may canceling a pain in the ass. Apparently you have to go to the location you signed up at in order to cancel which was really inconvenient for me and the fee is just ridiculous. You're a cheap gym, it's not that important. read more

Good cheap gym, 20 dollars a month and I can bring guest for free which is about 90 percent of the time that I bring someone. They also have tanning beds and message chairs. However I give three stars because the planet fitness in round rock, Texas was way better. Reasons for the lost of two stars. 1st no gym etiquette, no one ever puts their weights back up. Gym etiquette awareness day? 2nd 50 percent of treadmills are always broke, new maintenance contract? 3rd tanning rooms don't have locks on the doors, no eye cover stickers and no chairs. Chairs needed to set cloths on instead of floor and I like to sit down to put my shoes on. Okay changing setting to one star because all their treadmills are always broke, they really need to fire whoever does their maintenance. read more

WOW. I have never actually joined a gym because they just aren't affordable. Well, I don't know exactly why this Planet Fitness has such rock bottom prices, but I joined for $1 signup fee and then $10 a month afterwards. The space is huge, they have numerous treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and another machine I'm unfamiliar with. They have plenty of weight machines in quite a variety, as well as a guided power workout section. They have tvs with nine different channels playing at all times, and you can plug in which your headphones from any non-weight machine. The staff is friendly, the locker rooms are big and clean, and in general I'm totally impressed. They continue to have great sign-up deals so they must just be trying to grow their clientele. So far it's never even close to full. Join while it's still so cheap! read more

Planet fitness. It is an alright gym. I've tried several, golds,24,la fitness, lifetime fitness, ballys.. etc. 10$ a month would be fine, but I just got the 20$ a month plan so I could bring a friend along for free. Thinking about cancelling this though as the gym is too crowded at this point, and really doesn't have enough space/benches. Wow, this is like one of the best kept secrets in finding good gym workouts at a reasonable price AND they have a tanning and massage salon. Great facility, the staff was friendly, the bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers were always clean, and there were always enough equipments to go around. I liked how they had paper towels and cleaning solution for us to wipe off and clean up after ourselves even though I still cleaned it before I use the equipment. Exiting the facility, I almost always felt energized and pumped after the workout. My only complaint is that if I were to live closer to the area then this would definitely be my regular workout spot. read more

I was skeptical to try this location based on the reviews, so maybe my expectations were set low. That being said, it's small compared to other gyms and other PFs and isn't as new (lockers, updating bathrooms,etc) but is WELL worth the price of membership. I haven't been to this location too much but every time I go during the day at least one person is cleaning nonstop and another time I saw repair people fixing a sink in the bathroom. It is a smaller location, not kept as cool as other gyms, could use a little updating, and patrons don't wipe down machines as consistently, BUT it is well worth the price of membership, employees have always been nice and helpful, you can park in the parking garage, they work to keep it clean, and I have yet to wait for an elliptical or treadmill even during peak hours. I started working out at this location with a friend and I love it There aren't too many people that go, which is a good thing, because there are always available workout machines. People are doing their own thing, in their own zone, and aren't trying to impress anyone. And they have this alarm there (I forgot the name of it) but basically if anyone groans or makes unnecessary noises while they are working out, maiming lifting weights, then that alarm sounds for them to STOP. People don't want to hear all that..thank you! When I signed up I got an awesome free shirt. I love free stuff. And the place it big and open with about 15 different channels to choose from to watch! Oooo and they have FREE pizza every first Monday (evening) of each month and free bagels Tuesdays (morning). Basically I'm glad to say I'm officially a member :) read more

My wife's been going here a while and just the idea of purple gym equipment didn't appeal to me. But, with all my complaining about us not working out together,bla bla couple stuff. I couldn't pass up the deal we made with me just joining her gym for 10$ a month ( no contract) instead of gyms at school and at the apartments. If you live near or around Preston rd. You really can't do any better. The place is clean and for a guy- really quiet.. But during the day there is maybe 10 people there so it's nice to avoid having to wait for something to open up. (More importantly if you have or want a trainer but didn't want to have to join a gym for 30-60$ a month then pay a trainer on top of that. Most of the genuine "good guy" trainers I knew would suggest to join up here so you didn't kill your income to achieve a goal.) read more

Love this no-frills gym. You pay for the simplicity, the monthly rate can't be beat, and if you can't go to the gym every day you don't feel like you're wasting money. If you're looking for basketball courts and saunas, you'll wanna pay extra somewhere else. This place is great for a quick workout and maybe a tan if that's your thing. read more

The manager at the alpha location in dallas is very rude and I'm really sick of it. Rarely does she eek out a forced "hello" and she recently made s snyde comment when I came in just to tan. She said, "What are we, a tanning salon?" asking her employee and not even looking at me. With a career in management, I have made my own mistakes but NEVER with clients, or in her case, members that pay her salary. This chic needs help. How about asking me "I notice you only come in to tan, is there something we can do better to get you to use our gym?" Do I really think that type of thinking has ever crossed her mind? - absolutely not... All other employees there are nice, not helpful in any way other than to ask for our member number, but nice. My wife and I use this gym only to tan because it is cheaper than having a memebership at a tanning salon, but have joined another gym to workout. Planet Fitness is a perfect gym for beginners, but a veteran gym rat will get hurt on their fixed machines. The only free-weights are dumbells (only up to 75 lbs), which can work if you are cutting weight, but for the majority of the year we consider this a "cardio gym". The cardio machine set-up is actually great here, but its not realistic to only do cardio at Planet Fitness then have to go to another gym to workout. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. read more

I'm in the area for a month and needed a PF for my daily workout... This will not be the place. They are getting a bunch of new equipment on Sept. 15th, but the lighting in there is just depressing. It feels like a forgotten warehouse. Maybe I'm spoiled by my home PF location, but if this was my first experience at one of these gyms I would never have joined.
