Decent gym. Clean and plenty of machines. I will second the other reviewer recently that said that the staff can sometimes be a little rude, but generally they are fine. Met the owner a few years ago but have not seen him in a year or two and seemed a bit smug but things seemed to get fixed faster when he was around. Staff needs to monitor members. Many will sit on equipment for 30-45 mins. scrolling FB--Chatting or sending text messages. People are busy & need to work out & get to work---needs to be a sign on each machine 10 min. maximum. Be respectful of others time. read more

Clean facility, general manager was friendly, and provided my friend group with an impromptu tour and provided guidance on some exercises to get us started. The app is easy to use, and has videos for each machine if you don't know how to use them. We went back-and-forth on getting the black membership, but we feel that this is worth it as we have access to the massage beds, tanning beds, red light therapy, and more. The locker rooms are pretty standard. I do recommend investing in a lock. We've been going for about a month and have already met somebody who had their stuff stolen out of their locker. Only complaint is that the system was down for about a week for the tanning beds, massage beds, etc.. staff was communicative about how long this would be down for- and that stuff happens! read more

I'm not a huge PF fan. But out here in Delaware, my options are super limited. It's here or the hotel room gym. Lol. For an establishment to get in and out. This place was perfect. The staff was super friendly, personable, and informative. Guest pass is $20 per person. A little high. But not a deal breaker. What I like about this particular PF, they didn't try to sell me sh*t or press me on their gym rules. That was one thing about a few I have been to. As a guest, not really prepared with all my gym stuff. Not trying to hear about their rules about gym bags and all that crap. But this one? Pay your admin fee and do what you do. Perfect. It's a quiet gym. Not crowded at all. Super clean. New equipment. And just enough stuff to get in a good workout. And walking distance from a lot of the hotels. Very convenient. The next time I'm forced to visit Delaware, I'll def be coming back here. read more

Dover is well overdue for a Planet Fitness, about time! GYM: Brand-spanking NEW: Cardio machines: stair steppers, treadmills, bikes, rowers, and ellipticals. Weights: You know the PF way...assisted only. But plentiful. Bathrooms Didn't get a chance to view them. EXTRAS: Massage/Hyro Chairs You can schedule a time in advance, which is convenient. Tanning Beds Not a tanner (for obvious reasons) but they looked really high-tech! Free Lockers...plus plus! Folks, stop leaving your car keys on the rack by the door! smh... theft is real. Conclusion: This is a solid Gym and definitely the nicest PF I've come across so far. read more

New to the area and glad I found this gym. It's always clean, employees are nice and welcoming.

I've been here a few times now and I love it! It's never too busy to be able to use the machines you want and I never find people giving me any looks to make me feel uncomfortable. Those are the two most important things for me. If you have the black card membership, drinks aren't a bad price. $1 for a bottle of water. There's plenty of tvs, a headphone jack to listen to the tv overhead, and the place is always clean. read more

I'd like to start off by first saying that I have been to several planet fitness's in several different states and didn't even know the lunk alarm was a thing until this gym. I'm here quite often (often twice a day) and I keep to myself for the most part. The employees have always treated me with respect and I actually pride this Planet Fitness on how clean they keep the gym! However the overuse of the lunk alarm is the most obnoxious, overused "device" ever. read more

After three requests over two weeks to refill the hand sanitizer at the men's locker room entrance, it's now been three weeks since I first found it empty. In addition, the locker room floor is constantly gritty, (What happened to the mopping "Zamboanga"?) and parts are missing on some of the machines. Come on! Step up, Planet Fitness. Literally the first interaction I had was them lying to me. I asked BEFORE I bought a membership if they had someone who could show me how to use the equipment. I was told "there is someone here 24/7 to help you." I come back after thinking on it, having bought a membership, and ask if someone was able to help me. Then they tell me that there's someone who will make me a workout plan by appointment, but she wont be able to show me how to use anything. If THIS is how you do business? I want no part of it. I am an older client who doesn't always see too well. The only complaint is that in Dover, the print/instructions on the machines are so small I cannot read the instructions and find myself using the equipment in an embarrassingly wrong way. The staff, though friendly at the door, do not want to come and show me the equipment. I wish they would do that because it all kinda looks the same to me. I just have to see it once and I got it. This experience has taught me to never get a gym membership. I had this membership for a year and forgot all about it and continued to pay $10/month. It wasn't until they attempted to take out the annual fee did I notice the account because they over-drafted my account since I didn't have enough to pay the $39 annual fee. Which meant they didn't get their $39 and my bank put my account in the negatives; so not only do I have to pay planet fitness, I also had to pay my bank as well. As we all know it's COVID going on and I recently lost my job and have been having financial issues. I contacted my local planet fitness and all they could say was either pay the $39 or let it go to collections but there was no way to cancel the account without paying the $39. You would think the organization cares about its community but it doesn't. This applies to all planet fitness's because they don't notify you that you can only cancel the account 7 days before the fee is due but not once was I called or emailed to provide me with a reminder of this upcoming fee. I am extremely disappointed with this organization and discourage anyone from joining. read more

Nice location, convenience to places; like restaurants, the Greyhound Bus, stops just at the corner at the 7 Eleven store in clear view of the gym. Noticed that the promotion for people age 15 to 18 seems to be working well, noticed that young people are well behaved, everywhere I've been, if they were not, I suppose the gyms would put them out. read more
