I joined planet fitness in December 2025 and I am very happy with this gym to meet my health goals. The black card membership is $25 a month and includes all the cardio, strength training and cycle zones, where you can follow a routine on a TV they have set up to guide you. The "black card" area gives me access to massage chairs (hydro and normal), tanning beds (great for 5 min of sun in the dreary winter), red light, cryo therapies and a wellness pod (for what I believe is meditation). The staff are friendly and it feels like a very welcoming. Definitely a well run gym. read more

Was waiting for a tanning bed and the little snotty girl assigning beds told me it would be 6 minutes and then put the next 2 people in that came in after me right in and when I asked her how long for mine she gave me attitude! Maybe if she wasn't playing on her phone she would've been able to keep better track! Thank goodness for the nice young man at the counter! It was clean at least. Handy location for most of us Beaver Countians, large and spacious, very friendly staff, all around a great gym to work out in. The only reason 4 stars instead of 5- has more to do on the company level and not the Monaca location. 1) Would love to be able to pay monthly dues via credit card, rather than a checking account. Please allow for credit card payment! Checking accounts is so 19th century. 2) The annoying 9pm Friday closing hour and 7pm on weekends, way too early! If you're not going to do 24/7- do at least 10/11pm Fri-Sun. 7pm?!? Really? That's dinner time. 3) ALL the machines that supposedly link with the Life Fitness app don't work (at least at the Monaca location) scanning the QR codes comes back with "UNABLE TO CONNECT Please update the console software. The currently installed version is no longer supported. (L276)" and trying to tap using NFC- phone connects and does nothing. Send a technician to fix that. 4) Instead of a bunch of tanning beds, how about sacrificing just 1 of the tanning rooms for a sauna room? Would much rather have access to a sauna room than a skin cancer bed. read more

I like coming here for my workout, there's a ton of machines and free weights to choose from, there is also a personal trainer that you can schedule a appointment with to learn how to use the equipment or to help you develop a workout plan. All of the people who work here are pretty helpful if you have a question. If you have the black card you can also bring a guest with you and you have access to the hydro lounge, hydro bed, massage chairs, the beauty enhancer, and the tanning beds. No one stares at you funny, no matter what shape your in. read more

They have certain employees & specific employees friends who threatened, stalked, harassed & bullied me here for months to the point I felt so uncomfortable, I switched. I've been a member since 2014 & NEVER had an issue at this gym ever. There was a small group of gym members who messed with my car that put mine & my daughter's safety at risk who I pick up after I leave the gym. I was constantly being stalked, followed, threatened & harassed by this group of people who were close everywhere I went, trying to start fights, not my friends nor did I talk to them. The two employees threatened me who were good friends with these people & their manager. I filed a complaint with an employee & their manager who did absolutely nothing! The employees & members would all talk in a group at the gym & laugh while this was going on, all on camera in front of many members. The employees played into it & was trying to push the members to get me kicked out if I reacted. Then I called & filed a police report which everything is on camera & I even had an off duty police officer working out besides me while this went on who was paying attention. I was followed into the bathroom by these members & employees while they talked about & laughed at me. I was told by both employees multiple times that I'm not allowed to look at these members or they'll kick me out, call the police & take my membership & to stay away from them but it's okay that they were following me & trying to taunt me in front of the employees. Because, I filed a complaint against these specific people & the employees who allowed it on camera, the manager had a meeting that even though her employees were absolutely wrong & what they didn't was illegal, that she would always have her girls backs nomatter what. So they turned around & put complaints all of the sudden against my account & not against the people who were trying to intimidate, harass, threaten & stalked me. They were all trying to get me kicked out & tried to physically have a guy who went there to put his hands on me. I have screenshots luckily & it's all on camera. I know many of the employees who told me all about the meeting & what was said to them all because, I filed a few reports against the staff & members who were all in the same close friend group. Manager told me she put a warning on everybody's account including mine because, I filed a report on being consistently bullied by her two coworkers & 3 members which was wrong & illegal! She actually never put any warnings on anyone accounts except for mine out of spite. In their notes for each of the members it said that I was the one starting chaos when I never did. They never filed my complaint's, or anything on these members accounts at all. No disciplinary action against the employees because, they were the managers friend's, she would never let them go down, she had their backs & said this to all of her employees who multiple employees repeated back to me about it. The employees even were talking about how wrong it was what their co workers & manager did. Now the employee who threatened me because people were harassing, threatening & bullying me infront of her face is the newer manger for this location, ridiculous! I already filed multiple complaints with the employees, the manager multiple times, the police, HR & tried to contact corporate about this because, this is super wrong & illegal. The newer manager actually took pictures of one of the gym guests information & sent it out to a bunch of girls which is a hepa violation. Still to this day, nothing has been done! The manager from when this happened all of the sudden started being extremely nice to me when I came back months later. I only go sometimes but i feel extremely uncomfortable & I goto a different location. The fact that nothing has been done after patiently waiting for some time now is insane. Luckily I have my screen shots, employees who witnessed all of this & it's all on camera & I have a police report to back up everything! Yet this stuff is still all over my account to this day for doing the right thing & reporting it, but I got punished for it by unprofessional employees who shouldn't be running this business what so ever because, I spoke up & handled it the correct way & they didn't like that at all & retaliated because, they're all friend's. One of them who is the current Manager took pictures of people's private information & sent it out to a bunch of girls through text, talking about people's full names, their addresses, phone numbers, how much they pay per month which is illegal & a hepa violation. This place needs a Professional manager! The newer current manager is the one who allowed all of this & played her part in creating all of this chaos allowing harassment, bullying, threats, stalking & she did it too (All on camera) & then messaged me on social media. Terrible customer service. Over charged me from the minute I signed on and still hasnt been taken care of. Management is never available to speak to --- that is if you work a regular job - and does not follow through. Pretty clean and large gym. Lots of different equipment to use. Also tanning bed use with membership. They are open 24 hours so it's nice if you work all day or have an unusual shift. It's busier in the mornings and around 5pm. You're supposed to clean you're machine after you use it, which is the only thing I don't like only because I've seen people get off of a machine and walk away without cleaning it. Also maybe more towel placement to clean the machines because if you get off of a machine to go get towels and cleaner by the time you come back someone might have started using the machine you were on. All in all I like this gym. I wish they'd build more around the area. read more

Its ok, usually too crowded at peak times. Too many kids during the day. Best time I work out there is night or late evening.

I used to love Planet Fitness. Then COVID hit and the only thing I ever did was tan. I immediately stopped going since they closed and I am immune compromised. I looked at my bank statement and saw they had charged me for the past three months. I didn't receive notice that they closed or was opened. When I asked that they remove 3 months charges I was told about line 6 paragraph 9 that they could do that. Their contract doesn't mention anything of pandemic and restrictions. Their emails went to my spam, they did have my phone number but I received no calls. Poor customer service, the lady could care less. read more

I have been a member for a number of years now and since visiting a few different locations I am not pleased. The monaca location is beat. Machines are often in poor working condition the tanning beds don't have working functions ( on off face tanner, internal fans etc) and the environment over all cannot be compared to every other location I have been in. Planet Fitness is missing consistency! It tough to continue to pay a membership knowing a community just 10 miles down the road looks like a spa and I can't getting a working face tanner. We all know that going to the gym can be a challenge other than actually working out once you're there. I feel that Planet Fitness has a different approach for those types of people, including myself. The staff is always friendly and having a couple of friends work there makes it a lot easier for me to actually get up and go work out. I honestly do not have any major complaints about PF. I feel good once my work out is complete and definitely see myself making more of an effort to go a few times a week. read more

Fantastic! This Planet Fitness is huge and has tons to offer no matter what your fitness likes are. There are different areas for specific workouts (such as stretching, abs, circuits) a zillion pieces of cardio equipment, strength machines, free weights, smith machines, etc. The locker room is roomy, with a lot of lockers and several showers/private dressing areas, and bathroom stalls. PF offers tanning and one of my favorite things--hydromassage. There is a huge mix of people that work out here--from young, old, black, white, male, female, and ALL stages of their fitness journeys--skinny, to not skinny, to crazy muscular. Everyone is here! It's also very clean and the staff is great. I love this gym and I'm so glad I joined! read more
