It's a decent location and relatively clean; but if I'm going to pay extra, CLOSE THE DOORS to the massage/tan area! I don't wanna hear weights, people laughing at the front desk, and music when I'm back there. This location specifically puts weights to stop anyone from closing BOTH doors. I close one side, and you should think I stole something. NO ONE has given me an actual good reason why they insist on having the doors open. Hell, close one of them. Located inside a dying mall, this PF looks pretty nice. Big workout area, lots of equipment and even on a Sunday morning with a busy parking lot, there was plenty of space inside with many folks lifting, running or climbing. I loved the shower area. Big shower with a shelf and even a included "dressing" area inside the curtain. This was really awesome. So why just one star? NO HOT WATER. None at all. Good gym, especially for the monthly cost. You do get a lot for what you pay, which is becoming less and less common. If I could ask for anything it would be to have more of the popular machines. People will sit on one machine for sometimes 20 minutes or more. Work to limit time on a machine to five minutes or get more. read more

This location is inside the mall area along BUS-17 Bypass. I am in town for the week and needed a place to work out for the week so I don't fall to pieces while on vacation. I called this morning and got Hannah on the phone, who explained to me the daily visitor charges, as well as a weekly charge. I drove over from our timeshare and got a really extensive tour and understanding of what the membership levels would entail. First of all, this club is CLEAN. I am talking SUPER CLEAN. Cleaning stations scattered around the location. They are open 24/7 during the weekdays? Works for me. I saw what a standard membership entails, and what the higher level "black card" membership offers. Why would you not want the access to tanning beds, massage therapy beds, and other perks that you don't even know about? I am a member of a gym in Atlanta that doesn't have locations where I tend to go. I am locked in for a year, but once I am finished I may just have to consider the option of changing clubs. You can get into any club you want if you have the right membership. But for now, I thank Hannah for taking me around, telling me about the options I will have, and then setting me up with a one week membership for $30 that I can then use to work out all week while I'm here. I've been going here 2 years, I was excited over the new facility. But my excitement dwindled quickly. First they did buy all new machines and it is bigger so there's more room between machines. The locker room is a disappointment, 3 small benches in the locker room is terrible for those of us who take a shower after their workout and Not enough of the larger lockers. They seem to be short staffed as the place is getting dirtier, I use to see employees cleaning on a regular basis at the old facility, but not since they opened the new facility. read more

I have been a member of the Murrells Inlet planet fitness for years. I was so excited for the new one! I went and tried it and I honestly was super sad. Machines I love doing I can't do anymore. Such as hip abduction and adduction is now one machine. The pad used to fit my legs on the old one but now it is limited and only reaches my knee so now I can't use it. All the machines in the 30 minute circuit are new and improved to where instead of it being one connected machine the lat pull down and chest press are two different arms and don't move together anymore. I'm canceling my membership. read more

What a JOKE! I have paid membership fees every month even though I do not use the gym all the time. I like to tan and then workout, and finally shower before going to my second job. Did Planet Fitness change their policy on personal trainers? Today, there was a guy who set up multiple stations in the weight room by the parking lot taking up both benches, multiple dumbells and some machines as "reserved" for the 3 women he was working with. This was not one of the employees helping new folks learn the equipment. Spoke with the manager and he said he was a planet fitness trainer although he wore no company gear. When told about the various stations, he said ask if I could work in...WHY would I have to do that? The benefit of Planet Fitness is all the equipment is available to all the members all the time. I saw no signage at the facility or on the website that this personal trainer was available to all the members. I have given positive reviews in the past and have enjoyed the 5 years that I have belonged to this facility...except today! If there is a change in policy, communicate it to the members...otherwise it sort of stinks! read more

I highly recommend planet fitness to anyone who wants to stay in shape or get in shape. They are massage Hydro beds are to die for, but you must be a black level or go with a friend who is a member do use them. I haven't taken an individualized tour yet, but I am so glad I joined! It would not hurt to bring your own lock. They do sell them for five dollars each, but they're currently out of them. The people and staff are friendly! read more

Never had an issue working out here. The facility is fine. Just tell the young, male manager that I'm sorry I didn't have my key tag on me when I came in to cancel my membership. Because of travel I visit many different PF locations but this one is my least favorite. It is not as tidy as most, most patrons do not wear masks and you have to wait for equipment though their crowd meter states that there is a minimal crowd. At least most of the patrons do clean the equipment after use. They also do not have a way to fill a water bottle. The only water fountain they offer is a sipping model and it does not have enough pressure to reach a bottle neck. Most PF's offer a bottle filling fountain. read more

My dad and I go to this Planet Fitness location during our family trips to Myrtle Beach. This location is by far the largest chain that I have been to. Similar to other locations that staff are very friendly and professional. The gym is also very clean and equipped with the latest and greatest decorations. Two thumbs up! The massage beds at the Murrells Inlet Planet Fitness have not worked properly for months. In the midst of the program, multiple beds will just transition to about 10% of power for x minutes and then resume. This happens multiple times during a session. Today, #7 just plain stopped working all together and gave an error code. I reported it - the bed was reset - and it just happened again within seconds. I only go to this location for the chairs & the beds and I'm only there 3 or 4 times per month. I cannot possibly be the only person reporting this breakdown of service. I think I've been reporting this 3 or 4 times per month for the past 5 months - to no avail. It seems to fall on deaf ears. I'm hoping this review helps get those beds fixed since there is no flaw in the money we pay them on a monthly basis. read more

Worked out from 7 am to 8 am on a Tuesday while visiting in July 2018 from out of town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very busy but plenty of weight machines, free weights and cardio machines. I was impressed by how well the gym handled all of us visiting Myrtle Beach. Bathrooms clean and spacious. Will happily work out here when in town. My husband and I had the opportunity to use the Planet Fitness at Murrells Inlet, SC. I was impressed. It is the largest Planet Fitness I have been in. They have a 12 minute abs circuit that I wish we had in my Planet Fitness in Mt Vernon, VA. The staff was very friendly and so helpful. Wish they had trash cans in the Total Body rooms. The floor on the Total Body machines had not been cleaned in a very long time. When people come out without paper towels in their hands you know they didn't clean behind themselves. Didn't matter what time of the day we went, they were always busy. Had a very positive experience at this location. read more

Live closer to the MB PF but was packed today so I drove 20 to try this one out. Didn't have individual TV's on the cardio so I had to keep my neck turned to watch what I want while on the ARC Trainer. Planet Fitness offered a great price for a week long membership ($29.00) which I took advantage of while visiting on vacation. PROS: Large, clean facility with a great variety of equipment, plenty of treadmills and elliptical machines meant never having to wait for a turn, cool rooms off the side of the main gym for abs and cross fit-style exercise, stretching, spacious and pristine locker rooms. CONS: No towel service, and the lights seemed incredibly bright and obnoxious when laying down to do abs exercises. This was my first experience with the franchise and I was impressed! Overall, I'd highly recommend this gym and would definitely return, but need to remember to bring a towel next time! read more

Great! This PF location has everything I like in a gym: lots of room, lots of parking, lots of good, modern machines and free-weights. There's a stretching room, also big and well-stocked. The men's locker room is in PF's trademark huge style (and nice and clean, I might add). I only interacted with the staff to check in, but the guy seemed friendly enough. On my visit, I was able to find every machine I wanted (and then some). I had a great workout there, and zero problems, and will surely swing by again sometime. Much thanks to everybody involved with this gym. I don't take such places for granted. Keep up the good work, folks :) read more

I Joined the Murrells Inlet location and continually had issues with people being allowed to use equipment without cleaning it afterwards. There was one time that a father brought his young son (approximately ten years old) and the father (and your staff) allowed the child to jump from one machine to the next without cleaning any of those used. To make matters worse he was coughing in his hands and then touching the machines with the hands he just coughed in. I mentioned what was happening to one of the female staff and she replied that yeah I've seen them do that when I was working out too. Clearly she didn't want to offend the customer by asking them to comply to the rules so she just let it go. Sure enough, a few days later I developed a cough just like that kid did but thankfully it wasn't Covid. The last straw for me was when all of their massage beds were broken and they knew it but couldn't tell me when they would be repaired or what to expect. read more

My husband and I joined Planet Fitness in Murrells Inlet last summer and last night I went to work out and my husband came toward the end of my workout and my 7 year old step daughter came with him so that when I was done he could work out and her and I could leave. We were told we had to leave because my 7 year old step daughter was not allowed to sit in the lobby waiting area with my husband. The manager Brandy told us that she was not allowed to step foot in the gym because she is not 13. My step daughter was not near any equipment nor did we have any plans on leaving her unattended in the lobby at any time. So now I'm forced to cancel my membership because they won't allow my child to even sit in the lobby with her dad or myself at all. It isn't written anywhere in my contract that a child under 13 isn't allowed in the gym ...it states on Planet Fitness' website that a child can't be left unattended in the lobby. So how is it right that we were made to leave? I believe I will seek legal counsel for this. I can not believe the way we were treated last night!!!! read more
