This location doesn't even deserve the one star.... They still charge my account AFTER I have cancelled. I tried to contact the manager, yet I am told he is in a meeting or on a call. Stopped here while in town to get it going for basketball. Since the Quality Hotel was anything but, and being a black card member - I decided to uber and get the W at 6:35am on a Sunday. Everybody goes to church one way or the other. This Planet Fitness was located in a strip mall which most are, but what was obvious to me was the location was very cramped. Don't get me wrong there were a lot of machines, area for the workout rooms and whatnot- but it was all crammed into what felt like about 5000 sq ft. My home base PF recently upgraded their elliptical machines - but this spot had I would say the lowest grade ones. They were kind of like the Sears low grade ones with the smaller foot holders - not the larger foot holders or the track based ellipticals. When I started going I could feel the machine bend under me. Oh well. Staff was courteous and I got in and out without issue - first time using my black card scanner key fob out of the area. read more

The smell of Mold hit me like a brick wall as soon as I walked in! Being from Myrtle Beach I am very atuned to smelling mold. Ppl need to know Mold will make you incredibly sick and unfortunately some ppl can't smell it, like my husband, so don't be surprised if start having respiratory issues. When lungs are wide open when working out you are taking in all that mold. It's not in the bathroom as that is the most obvious source of mold growth with constant moisture, it's only out in the workout area which leads me to believe it's the air conditioning system as mold needs moisture to bloom. I told the girl at the front desk who seemed unaware they had a problem, as most ppl from the north probably aren't used to dealing with mold. I suggest they close the place for 1 day & hire someone to run an ozone machine, if done properly it will kill all mold, bugs, dust mites, rodents in a non toxic way, and you will be able to tell as soon as you walk in, it smells incredibly fresh. It has to run for a good 12 hrs in this large of a space, then air out for at least 3/4 hours. Nice showers though. read more

I have been a member of this gym for a little over a year and I was motivated to write this review because the other day when I asked my phone AI for the phone number she pointed out the low yelp rating to me. I was surprised such a great gym would have a low rating. I figured that like many low ratings people complain when they are unhappy but don't speak up when they are content. This location is incredibly clean. The Staff is amazing they are helpful, friendly and encouraging. It is clear that they are intentional about learning the names of the members. They catch your eye when you walk in and welcome you by name then tell not to worry about your card then manually input you. That is huge! The club is super community minded they collect new toys for needy children during the holidays and backpacks the summer. The Club it self is smaller than some PFs that I have been to but it fits the neighborhood that it is in. the equipment is never crowded and I have never had to wait to use anything including specialty equipment like aqua massage tanning bed or massage chair. My only disappointment is that they close early on the weekends 7PM is tough for me as I like to work out after my family is in bed. read more

If there was 0 stars, planet fitnesses would get it. I had called to cancel my membership and was given the wrong email address by an employ and found that I was still getting charged, so I called again. The manager, extremely rude and disrespectful, cancelled my membership and refused to put my case into corporate for a refund appeal. He also refused to give me a number to call to talk to corporate myself, continuously talked over me, and refused to believe that his employee gave me the wrong information to cancel my membership. I am a college student and I am now out two months of fees ( I had the black card membership) and a yearly fee. Manager was the most disrespectful man I have ever encountered. read more

I think it's time for a Planet Fitness review :) A friend recommended that I check them out, as I've never been loyal to any gym or working out for that matter. Being that you can get a membership for $10.00 a month -( this is the basic membership, there is also a sign up fee of about $29.00) with no commitment . You get a free t shirt as well. No commitment works for me ! The good: The facility is large, there are more than enough treadmills, ellipticals ,bikes etc. The best part is that the Niagara Falls location is almost never busy, generally a handful of people have been there when I go during the day. This facility is also very clean, from the floor to the locker rooms. They play music which seems to be 80's-90's mostly when I am there. It is always appropriate. There are separate areas for abs/specialty, stretching and 30 minute workouts as well as cable machines. There are at least 10 wall mounted televisions which feature various sports channels(not my thing). The treadmills have televisions with a good number of channels though, so I am good with this. There is another membership level available, the black card membership.This is $20 a month. With this, you have options which may vary by location. This location has tanning, massage chairs and hydromassage. You are able to workout at any Planet Fitness location with this membership as well. I feel this is also a good deal. The "ok to not so good": free candy at the desk. Really? Don't tempt me. There is a pizza day and a bagel day. I am sure this works for some people, but seems to go against my better judgement. Not necessary and possibly a really bad idea ! I feel this gym is better suited for women, yet, some of the equipment is uncomfortable and I feel designed more for men. The "no gymtimidation/No lunk" thing. Ugh, ok.. it's not a bad thing per se, but it can be taken too far. Lastly, the color scheme really does make the facility look like an adult playground. All in all, I feel you cannot go wrong for $10.00 per month. The staff is always friendly, polite and laid back, its a super clean faciilty and has all the essential equipment needed for the average person. I am personally a LA Fitness member, but when I'm looking for a Chucky cheese for adults gym I'll go to planet fitness. I like the fact they have a tanning booth and free candy at the front desk ( this really shows me they care about my health ). Also every Friday they have pizza night, God knows I could really go for some after a hard workout; and every Tuesday morning bagels (boy do I love my carbs). Overall $10 for a gym membership is great, but I don't mind spending the extra 15 and getting A lot more. read more

This is the gym I currently go to. I also have the black pass, $20 a month. Pros: -Can bring a friend -Hydromassage beds -Gym is typically pretty clean -They have buckets of candy at the front desk (still unsure of why this is a thing at a gym...but hey, I'm not complaining) -Nice locker rooms -I really like that all of the equipment is purple (purple is my favorite color lol). -Tanning is also included, but I don't use these because, uhm, cancer..? Cons: -No classes -They only have an assisted machine for squats which isn't the best for your back -The ellipticals feel a lot different than ones at other gyms. They don't glide as freely and feel kind of restricted. Not a huge fan. read more

I called and cancelled my account two months ago. They've been charging me ever since and said that there is no over the phone cancellation. Went in person and cancelled and they're STILL charging my account. Literally just told me it was my fault for not doing it before the 10th like I remember everything in the agreement I opened 2+ years ago. Refuse to give me my money back. read more

I've been a long time pf member in the various states I've lived in and have been going to this location for almost a year and never had a problem, until now at least. The pendulum has swung a little too far to the sensitive side unfortunately. The staff(it's really just one female employee I think) will set off the "lunk alarm" (yes an actual blaring, flashing alarm) if they perceive you making too much noise, single you out, and essentially shame you in front of everyone without even having a word with you.
