I've been working out here for about 2 years now, mainly because it's super close to my place, so it's just convenient to stick with. Overall, it's always been decent, nothing too crazy. But last Friday, after they closed for 3 days and reopened, I walked in and was like, "wait... this feels different." The space is way more open now, better organized, and it doesn't feel cramped like before. They added quite a few new machines, especially in the free weight area, which looks much better now. Even though there's usually only one of each machine so you might still have to wait during peak hours, it's still a nice upgrade. They also added better ab machines, which honestly helps lazy people like me actually do some ab workouts. Overall, I was genuinely surprised in a good way. The workout feels better, the space feels nicer, and I'm really happy with the changes. Definitely sticking around for the long run. I just hope that in the future they can extend their weekend hours a bit later, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. read more

If you are an adult looking for a serious workout, this is not the place to be. However, if you are a teenager, looking for a date for the prom, you ought to come here. You will find dozens of your peers sitting on machines, twiddling away on their phones. If you want to do yoga or anything that involves a mat on the floor, you also do not want to come here. There's a total of about six mats and they are all in use by teenage girls as parking places for their phone and water bottle while they go off and make eyes at the boys. Dress code? Forget about it. Girls in halter tops, short shorts, guys in street clothes (jeans) and slides. Whatever happened to that rule about closed-toe shoes? Not here. I have to do a lot of traveling and I have been to Planet Fitness locations everywhere. This is among the worst. Even Indio is better than this. And that's saying a lot. It's unfortunate that the space they have for Rodeo 39 couldn't have been used for this gym... This gym is the smallest commercial gym I've ever been too. But, I do love the convenience of how close it is because I can walk to and fro for cardio (good because the parking lot is always crazy packed). They recently moved equipment around and made things even more tight and squished than before. There is literally no space to stretch, nor are there enough mats (feels like they have a total of 7 tbh). Luckily, they are now 24 hrs because before that, this gym would get packed easily. The worst time is summer, I am not excited for that again since it's crawling with highschool kids crowding all the machines. Machines are often broken too, which is also frustrating (not PF's fault, I see people slamming crazy weight down daily, it's crazy; weight they shouldn't even be doing might I add). The positive thing's I can say is, it's usually always clean and ALL the workers are great at their job. I've been with other gyms and never experienced this adept level of customer service. TBH I'm hoping nobody thinks of coming here because there just wouldn't be any room to contain a lot of new people lol. Hopefully they can buy out the place next door and expand. read more

Wasted so much time walking around trying to find paper towels to sanitize the equipment, just to get on and find out it's broken. I had an awful experience with Emily as well. I recently visited the 12927 Beach Blvd, Stanton branch and had a very unpleasant encounter with Emily, the manager. I tried to bring my 15 years old son along as a visitor because I am a PF Black Card member, but Emily, the manager, refused to let him inside. She wanted to see my son's high school ID, and I promptly showed her his high school student ID. She refused and wanted to see another ID showing his birthday (if you do the math, the standard age for first-year high school is 13, which meets the club age requirement and my son is 15 years old). While I understand that gyms have specific guest and minor regulations, the manner this was stated was totally wrong. Instead of professionally clarifying the issue, the manager was extremely nasty, condescending, and lacking in fundamental customer service skills. I've been a dedicated member here, but being treated so harshly is a significant deterrent. I strongly recommend that management provide this employee with customer service training. Until then, I would advise other parents and members to avoid visiting this facility if they expect to be treated with respect. read more

I also have a back up card, but since they didn't attempt to process the monthly payment by that card caused me a late fee. ((Disclaimer:I'm not a human trafficker, don't do trafficking yall)) So I drove off with a buddy, cuz we were gonna do some stuff after the gym. I was parked on the lane marker(on my parking slot, they have two lines, so technically I was in between the outer lines) and apparently someone complained about not being able to park in the space by me, despite it being ~6 on a Wednesday (many parking) and I wasn't even parked that close, to PF man Anyways and so on video they saw that I was exiting the property. The manager said that according to the regulations we're not supposed to park if we're not on the property, so whenever there's someone they notice is not on the property it's policy to report it to security. I was passing by trying get back to the freeway when I saw the sign, and it opened up my mind into checking out this new facility. Much of the rest of the plaza which includes an In-N-Out, Panda Express and Chase is still under construction, so there was plenty of parking. As most new places go, this PF (no Chang) is currently very clean and shiny. Most gyms in general gradually show their age through the wear and tear of the equipment and the number of "out of service" signs tacked onto them, but today there were none in sight. In terms of security, there's a camera and monitor showing people going in and out of the lockers. The Synrgy 360 area has ample room to mosey, and I was pleasantly surprised to see they included different levels of resistance bands. The stretching area also has a lot of space, which is great since mats can be used in that much more areas for floor exercises. Most of the other features are typical. One thing I wished they had that I rarely find is the trampoline thing that you can bounce balls off of, which I believe is called a "rebounder"... The staff was kind when I asked them about this feature and said she'll ask the manager, so who knows? Since they're still in the early phase, they can play around with their offerings. All in all, this is a gym in a decent location. If I'm in the area, I would very likely come back and get in a quick workout. read more

I've been going to this planet fitness for a few months because its 24 hours and I usually go really late at night. The overnight employees always greet me and everything's clean and organized when I go at that time. Last week I left my foam thing at the gym. It was around 2:30AM when I got home and noticed. I wasn't sure if they would pick up the phone that late at night, but not only did they pick up, Daniel put me on hold to see if he could find it and also left a note so I could pick it up the next day. Oh have I got a story for you. I created my account ONLINE for the chico location in march of 2024 because I lived in chico. I moved back to garden grove and when i went in to this location they informed that I needed to transfer my account ONLINE through the website. When i tried to transfer my account it let me get all the way up to the final button saying TRANSFER and when I clicked it all I got was a message saying ERROR THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE TRY AGAIN LATER. I tried again the next day and got the same message so I was under the impression that the transfer did not go through. Unfortunately, IT DID and I never received an email saying that the transfer did go through. Then last night I wanted to try again and transfer my account and I got the error message again. This pissed me off so I decided I want to cancel my membership. I did all the steps necessary online to cancel the membership and when I got to the final button saying CANCEL I pressed it and.......the same error message popped up. I tried again and the same message. I eventually gave up and said I'll try again tomorrow. I got charged today and called the location that I thought was still my home location because as far I was told the transfer never went through. When I called my old location to cancel my account they said that it was cancelled 16 days prior to Today. So I said "why did i get charged then" and she said "i don't know". When I went in to the Garden Grove location they informed that there was another account under the same email that i used for my chico account that I had no knowledge of and when I told them that the website never informed me that the transfer went through they told me that they don't know why that happened. Then when I asked for a refund they told me that they can't handle refunds and that I would need to call a number. When I called the number that the MANAGER gave me to call, the person on the phone told me that THEY could not handle refunds and that I would need to go in person to the club to ask the manager for a refund. Then when I confronted the manager with the guy on the phone with me still. The manager proceeded to say that I didn't have proper receipts and then when the person on the phone confirmed what I was saying, the manager then said that he would need to submit a request to upper management and that even then, it would take a while and I may not even be refunded. I asked if i could be notified when the request to upper management and the manager said that he would be submitting the request shortly and that he would give me a call once it was done. It's been 2 hours and i still haven't received any call or notice from the Manager. The Manager actively tried to hinder my efforts to get a refund and when I confronted him he did more of the same. read more

Started going to this Planet Fitness last year. Never had any issues and is overall a good gym experience. Staff are nice, and have never heard the lunk alarm go off. Sometimes the paper towels need to be restocked and be careful of the leftmost faucet in the men's restroom, it only has 2 modes. Hell inferno and cold. read more

TLDR: The management at this gym is so terribly incompetent; it lacks the ability to provide professional customer service and fails to uphold Planet Fitness' mission statement of "providing a comfortable, safe, and energetic environment where everyone feels accepted and respected." Namely, Ashley M. (last name undisclosed in case she tries to report and remove the review again), the club manager, who thinks it is okay for her and her staff to harass, antagonize, and lie to the gym members but if the member gets upset at them for being treated poorly then she will terminate your membership. SO, some advice from me, don't come here unless you're willing to be treated like you are not human. Also, half the treadmills are always bugged, the machines are dirty, the paper towels are never restocked, and the bathroom is disgusting and reeks of menstrual blood. Ms. Ashley, if you're reading this, you should do a better job at actually managing this facility instead of starting unnecessary bullsh*t with your members and just standing at the front desk chatting with your co-workers. On the brightside, IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE CANCELING YOUR MEMBERSHIP, she's at the front desk M-Thurs from 9am-6pm so you can just go and give her some attitude and she will most likely get mad at you and terminate the membership. It's kind of insane that she thinks it is acceptable for her to FOLLOW A MEMBER ALL THE WAY INTO THE BATHROOM and stand next to them while they try to use it to make them come out and rescan because she didn't recognize them. She simply couldn't wait for them to wash up and then just ask them outside, even though she was already helping out a different member with a billing issue. So at the front desk, she delegated the task of rescanning to another employee, Cesar C., who then went on to constantly PROVOKE THE MEMBER AND LIE TO THEM that they didn't sign in and that it didn't go through even though the member has a record of it going through on the app. Even other members who spectated this event recognized that Ashley was in the wrong and tried to help out and offer their guest passes to let the member Ashley was harassing to go in. When I spoke with Ashley, she failed to understand my point in which SHE MADE A MEMBER FEEL LIKE A CRIMINAL in an establishment she pays to use. Ashley refused to take responsibility for a mistake she made about the sign-in. Instead of offering any form of apology or solace to the member, she and her staff chose TO ESCALATE THE SITUATION BY ARGUING and then became hostile and rude with the member. When the member became upset that she was being accused of something she didn't do and tried to defend herself, Ashley took this as grounds to terminate the membership even though she started the altercation. Assuming that all disabilities are physical is EXTREMELY ABLEIST of this establishment. And failing to recognize that you are triggering someone's mental to breakdown because of your behavior is one thing, but terminating a membership because you don't know how to handle a situation in which you provoked a member to that point because of the way you treated her is absolutely unacceptable and goes to show Ashley's lack of general human compassion and decency. I even took the time out of my day to go and speak with Ashley and told her the member had difficulty with responding to negative situations to which she responded they don't want members like that at their facility. Thank you so much Ashley, for showing me how UNSAFE A PLACE Planet Fitness truly is and how the STAFF ONLY CARES ABOUT THEIR OWN PRIDE and ENFORCES THE RULES ONLY WHEN IT IS TO THEIR OWN BENEFIT. I will never ever in my lifetime step foot in another Planet Fitness again THANKS TO MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE MANAGER HERE. I don't know who is responsible for giving her the role because I'm going to be honest, I've been going to this gym since 2021 and I had no idea she was even the manager. She barely greets the members walking in and always has a stank face when you have a question for her. She can't even hold eye contact when she's having a conversation. The only thing she enjoys doing is aggravating members until they start crying so she can have a "reason" to terminate the membership. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, just hope she finds the time and space to heal so that she stops projecting her own problems onto her workplace and that other members who still frequent the facility don't experience the same maltreatment. This all could have been handled so easily under different management. I am so grateful Ashley freed me from the shackles of PF because I promise there is SO MUCH better out there. Literally any other gym is better than this one unless they decide to better vet and train who they put in managerial positions.
