The restaurant was…read morevery clean and well presented, the staff were very friendly, polite and professional, and the food was excellent, very good portions and cooked to perfection, (I'm very fussy where food is concerned). I rang to make my booking at the last minute, and the table was laid out beautifully, with a birthday banner and centrepiece for my son. I would highly recommend "Moments" to anyone wishing to "splash out" for a special occasion. I will definitely be going again. Thank you, "Moments" for making our visit special.

The manager/owner was of South Asian origin. The moment we entered the manager rudely asked what do we want, later he repeatedly said 'ask me first before entering', I was taken aback as never has anyone asked like that in a restaurant as usually restaurant owners ask something like - 'how can I help you'. I thought this question might be related to him thinking if we wanted to Dine in or takeaway so I ignored it at first. Then I told him politely we are here for Dinner. He took us to a small table with just two seats and immediately left us to ourselves. Since we had jackets and my wife was carrying a rather heavy purse and the restaurant had more than 30 odd vacant tables, we decided instead to sit in the next table with four chairs. Once we were seated the manager shoutingly came towards us and rudely asked how come we sat on the table with two chairs, on this I politely pointed to the two occupied tables where couples were seated and those two also were four chaired tables. He then repeated his same sentence 'Ask me first' before moving. This really was testing my patience now, I raised my eyebrows and then shockingly the manager told us that we need to sit in the two chaired table or 'Ask me before changing once again'. I was getting angry which was evident on my face then to my surprise he directly said 'We can even go out of the restaurant'. I and my wife both expressed displeasure in front of the other guests pointing to the rudeness of the manager and went out of the restaurant. Even the guests sitting the restaurant already looked shocked. In service industry the rule always is 'Customer is GOD', but seriously doubt if this resturant does any good business at all. I am myself originally from Bombay (Mumbai) and can confirm that this manager cannot be from Bombay at all, but is just using the name as his restaurant name to attract White people to the restaurant. I strongly recommend everyone to never go to the restaurant ever especially my fellow Indians and South Asians!! Minus 10 starts from me!

The second was the complete opposite of the scale, the service was slow and poor, the chicken in both our meals was substandard - it was that very strong chicken smell and taste which we have had at other indian restaurants and we have subsequently never revisited. We had to leave all the chicken pieces and complained to the waiter, he never passed this on to the management so when we came to pay we had to discuss the problems again which resulted in a reduced bill, but I should not have paid anything. However we will not be returning again so it is their loss. Don't be taken in by the special offers, nothing compares with quality food. The 'Red Rose' next door is far superior and the 'Taj' at the top of the High street beets them all.

What can I say, top of the bunch, and trust me we have tried many indian restaurants in England…read more(not so many in London and the south, apart from Enfield and Brick Lane) and I can say nearly every Indian in Norfolk and Suffolk and enjoy keeping up with the new ones opening. So my opinion is Taj is currently no.1, it used to be the one by the railway, (you'll know which one I mean) but the service and management changed. I appreciate everybody to their own taste and there are many excellent Indian restaurants out there which you will all prefere and enjoy. Last visit 25/03/2011 (Vindaloo) Dissappointed with this food visit, strong chicken flavour (undercooked). I have had to drop down a couple of stars. I must add my wifes meal was excellent (Korma).
