I made an appointment to get my third HPV vaccine, had to wait 2.5 hours after my appointment time, and still didn't get my vaccine because I had to leave. I was told the wait would be an hour. They have severe planning and staffing issues here. I have an appointment today, and i'm trying to call them to confirm they will see me on time, and i've been on hold for 15 minutes now. This location needs to run itself much better. This is unacceptable for people with actual immediate issues that need to be handled immediately. Fix your scheduling system. If you are running behind EVERY DAY, make the appointment blocks larger. read more

I've had a horrible experience here, Nicoy, their so call security guard there on duty, wants to be on a phone call very loud while I am not feeling well in the lobby, I can hear everything so loud so it's just making me feel even more sick, I kindly asked the lady at the front to tell him to speak more quietly so just to take his phone call outside, and have respect. When he was told, he laughed in my face and said out loud "NOW SHE WANTS ME TO TAKE MY PHONE CALL OUTSIDE,, PSHHH PLEASE HAHAHA" in my face, I asked to speak to the manager after to speak about his behavior after, I was taken in a room to speak to her and told her what happened and explained why I am upset, she told me she would speak with him and that he will be talked to, while my friend was outside waiting on the lobby he still on the phone he said "she has bigger problems to be worried bout then my phone call". My friend spoke back and told him "that's very inappropriate of you to say here." He just laughed in her face. I came back to him still being loud and just rude... for you to believe to have someone working there WITH WOMEN AND MAKE THEM FEEL EVEN MORE WORSE, is crazy to me, NICOY shouldn't be in this job title, he should look somewhere else in a job not with women, I just find this very disrespectful to my visit today, this is my first ever visit with you guys and I am not happy, he continued to laugh in my face while being told more by me to not even laugh in my face but continues to, this is not okay. read more

One nurse with short blonde hair was very presumptuous, and rude. I'm not sure if she just had a long day or her thoughts slipped, but luckily I'm not someone that lets others "assumed opinions" of me affect me. However at the time of this apt. with them I had just unexpectedly lost my mother, was planning a funeral and my cousins wedding all while dealing with my declining health due to this stress. I had heard bad things about the gaithersburg office which I really didn't take into consideration b/c I'd had great experiences with PP offices elsewhere. Her random and hurtful comments did sting b/c I was so sensitive at the time, so I couldn't imagine someone who suffers from depression or worse coming in and having her low standard of care and lack of bedside manner. She wouldn't really even let me speak and I felt I had to defend myself? It was odd, she then promptly rushed me out. I recommend the DC or Frederick offices, both I've been too multiple times for Birth Control and Exams. They are always over the top kind and comforting, they're so sweet, I couldn't sing their praises more I will leave respective reviews for those branches. I will say the front desk girl who I believe was brunette, was nice and patient, she, from what I recall always kept a smile on her face. I am aware how stressful all positions in any healthcare office can be, as I myself work in healthcare. I donate to Planned Parenthood all the time, I always sign petitions in support and am a grand supporter of all the help you do provide to not just people but the underprivileged as well. So this is why I write this review. I know your job is hard, I know it can get exhausting and your patience is tested. However this is the field you chose and it is a fragile and important one. So I hope you look past the initial offense of a unfavorable review and take this into consideration and implement it. Today was my 1st appointment here in Montgomery County , the front desk girls were nice. My CNA Azure was very friendly and informative. She made me feel like she cared about my questions, she was very caring and I do appreciate her level of professionalism along with her positive attitude towards me. The Nurse practitioner Allison was a complete 360, passive aggressive, she belittled me from beginning to end. I asked her for a referral since they did not provide the service I needed after waiting 3 weeks for an ally to be sent away. She argued with me in regards to actually providing me with Doctors to refer me to. I told her I'd had issues trying to find a provider who accepted my insurance but I wanted to try the providers they used in this office and she basically took that information and refused to actually provide me with her referring providers for some reason. She insisted I needed to find my own after I repeatedly told her I'd like to try the referring offices they were already in network with. Allison only provided me with a referral letter and a referral letter with zero providers for me to try and call even though I emphasized I just wanted to call and try. I had to come back inside and ask front desk for a list of their providers since Allison did not provide me with any. She then came to the front and attempting to argue with me and just be rude and combative towards me. Allison finally went to her office and handed me the referral form I asked her for from the very beginning. I don't appreciate being treated like a child, or as if I am less then or uneducated. This is how Allison the Nurse practitioner treated me today. She then also tried to gaslight me and I had to actually say out my mouth "I'm not here to argue with you" in-front of the office staff this happened yesterday. This is already a private, sensitive place to be and Allison made my experience here extremely negative and uncomfortable. I think it would be beneficial for Allison to invest in taking professional communication classes, and or something to assist her in learning how to demonstrate patience and respect to her patients for her unnecessary, mean, unprofessional and rude, belittling attitude. I was able to calmly and respectfully speak up for myself but I can only imagine younger women who would have to endure what I did yesterday unprovoked and that it completely unacceptable and overall just a terrible experience. Thank you to my nurse Azure for helping me with all my questions and concerns today. Thank you front desk for trying to help me with finding an actual referring doctor and not just handing me a basic letter of referral with no referring doctors. I waited over an hour in my car. The black guy at security almost tackled me for not using hand sanitizer when I came in. Nurse was extremely rude. The only person who was nice is the older Hispanic lady who takes your blood. Hopefully this location shuts down because they're probably about to get sued. The nurses here were very patient and pleasant to have-- regarding my situation they knew the emotional stress behind it and comforted me, letting me know that I could come back at any time if there were any issues, or I could always all and talk to a nurse on the phone. Let me start by saying I've been to several PPs in the past and always had a great experience. Today at this location everyone I encountered was rude and incompetent except the nurse practitioner. The guy answering the door made me feel unwelcome and like they were doing me a favor. The desk person was hostile as was the intake person. They make you fill out paperwork before they will talk to you and then they ask you everything you just entered so you have to tell them again. Then she asked me to sign two documents but she wouldn't show me the documents. (On a side note, no one should ever sign a document without reading it first. Why this would be the way they operate is beyond me. They could have been asking me to sign anything.) The nurse was nice but wasn't able to help me (not her fault.) The cost for a 5 minute chat? $202. So yeah, never going to PP again and won't be donating either. As another reviewer stated, they really should just close this location. Of course after this experience I see why same day appointments are plentiful. Just go anywhere else. You'll be glad you did. read more

The women at the front desk and who performed the intake were lovely and hit all necessary points, very welcoming. The nurse practitioner came in very rushed, rude and nonchalant. I asked questions to which she just turned down everything I said and offered no insight, instead belittled my questions and refuted my points. She offered no departing greeting & simply gathered her papers and walked out the room. Woman to woman, you should understand how vulnerable one is during these appointments. I felt very taken care of when I came here early October for my birth control implant. I had a lot of questions and was overall very nervous. But the staff were very attentive, answered my questions happily, and made me feel safe. When I almost fainted after the procedure they took very good care of me and gave me juice and crackers. 10/10 would recommend. :) read more

I was expecting it to be really bad but it was the best experiences I've ever had at a clinic. From the time I checked in, the receptionist was very communicative and sorry for the long wait. As soon as I was taken in the nurses were all so friendly and explained to me all the steps and protocols. They were so respectful. Was told over the phone that the nexplanon implant would be priced based on my salary even though I had insurance because they don't accept my insurance, so I drive 1.5 hours only to be told that it will cost me $1,300 because I have insurance even though they don't accept my insurance; regardless of my salary. Evidently they fail to see how this makes zero sense whatsoever. If the idea is to help people with 'planned parenthood,' they should reexamine their policies, or at the very least, make sure that the people who answer the phones know the basics. read more

I've been here 3 times and appointments are never on time. Ended up having a wait time of over 2 hours just to get a birth control refill. I got there at 4 for a 4:20 appointment, it was 5 when I got called in. I answered the typical medical history questions which took about 5 minutes and then went to a private room to wait for someone else to come talk to me. I had to wait there for an entire hour only to have a 2 minute conversation (with a woman who seemed like she was in a rush) that was basically a confirmation of what I already talked about to the first person with. I understand that they were understaffed that day but it's ridiculous that I had to wait an entire hour just to talk to someone about when my last period was and what pharmacy to send the rx to. read more

The place was hard to find, tucked in a back corner, and the wait was reeeeeally long (almost 2 hours) even though I had an appointment. Luckily I had a book. The care was good, though. Once I was finally seen, it didn't take long, but I also didn't feel like I was rushed out. I felt heard by the nurse practitioner I saw. I will continue to use this clinic for my annual exams. I spoke on the phone with a woman named either Nikia or Nikita. And she was very rude. I asked her one question about IUDs and she put me on hold to find the answer. Then when she came back with he answer I asked a follow up question and with a very rude and condescending tone she said "oh sweetie I have no idea. I thought you just had that one question." I mean she's a receptionist for gods sake she literally gets paid to sit there and answer the phone/answer patients' questions. Why the bad attitude over a simple question? The lady at the front desk is a real female dog, no customer service, very rude, and not helpful. But good place to go if you have no health insurance and need birth control or any other assistance down there. I was told prior to making an appointment I may be harassed by anti abortion people but I didn't see any. I came in the middle of January during the polar vortex and there is absolutely NO heat in the waiting room. My ass almost froze sitting for 45 minutes waiting, I can't imagine what the summer days are like in there. Once you walk back you feel all the heat hmmmm. The nurse who did my intake was nice and asked routine questions like how many sex partners have you had, male or females, etc. I met with the nurse practitioner in her office and she asked me why I wanted birth control and what not. She even told me to go to Target for the specific brand she was giving me because it would be the cheapest. They totaled my visit depending on my income and it came out to a whopping drum roll please....$40. Can't beat that and $20 at Target for four packs of birth control!! read more
