I was pleasantly surprised to also see a cute little display of other antique police memorabilia. Also highlighted were interesting photos and stories of those officers being honored and remembered either for service to the community or their ultimate sacrifice of their lives in the line of duty. If you are passing through Aurora stop by, it's worth it.

End of last year my license was expiring soon and I needed to renew it ASAP. This location was the only location available that had appointments that same day. ( They always have multiple appointments available for multiple days). Once I got there I was in and out within 15 minutes tops. I will easily take the 30 min drive from Aurora to Plano just so I can have a pleasant experience. They need to keep up the great work!! So, if this dmv is a reasonable distance from you they're definitely worth the few extra miles.

What I don't get is that it took almost two hours for one to show up, and we were less than 10 minutes away from the station (and it was closed, so we couldn't just drive there). I called only twice during this time, the other driver might've called more times. I spoke to some guy named "Brandon?" Or maybe "Brendon?" Whoever he was, he said "police are dealing with other issues right now," (for two hours, likely story. The person I spoke to before said there was a shift change) then went on to tell me I didn't actually need a police report at all "because the accident occurred on private property." When he couldn't defend his outrageously incorrect statement, he said "actually there's an officer coming your way now." So the non-emergency personnel working there have no idea what they're talking about and lie to you to excuse laziness and incompetence. Something you really value at a police station, right? Call Aurora instead. Or, call Metra Police (who helped us because he felt bad).

I have had issues with the neighbors above me for quite sometime and have been assaulted by them twice. The last assault took place yesterday, July 14, 2026. I was severely beaten by two females, one I was certain was the neighbor upstairs, but she has sisters and they look similar. So after I getting out of the hospital, I was the one the DeKalb police arrested because they claim video evidence shows that my neighbor was in her apartment at the time I was beaten. So instead of them being kind and fair with me, a 62 year-old woman that has not been in trouble and does not get into trouble, they arrested me claiming that I filed a false police report. Even though I have goose size lumps all over my head and a bust up bruised face, bruises up and down my legs to my feet and everywhere in between... They did not believe that I was attacked! Explain that to me. Now I've been arrested with a class four felony and I'm facing God knows what. Why? Well, you think I would be a black person complaining of being discriminated against. But she would be wrong. I am a white person being discriminated against. The same black cop that would not arrest her the first time she assaulted me when I had a witness, refused to arrest her and instead arrested me after her and her sister or two of her sisters beat me up right in front of my own apartment door. But not to worry, Sergeant Brown assures me that no one in their police department is racist. Yes as I sat in a cage handcuffed to a bar yesterday, beaten and bruised... While she got by with it yet again, I certainly did not feel discriminated against. God forbid we offend anyone in our black communities. Because none of them are criminals, they are just misunderstood.

The officers have been restrained and thoughtful dealing with the individual, extremely skilled at de-escalating the situations, and have gotten them once into involuntary psychiatric treatment. They have been extremely prompt and responsive when called. Very, very impressed by all the great work. I realize people have bad experiences with CPD but we also need to acknowledge when they provide outstanding services -- and a very difficult job to do.
