Beautiful gallery with lovely tea room. Wonderful employees and a nice selection of beautiful items to purchase in the shop. We enjoyed the grounds, history and the sequoia trees. We purchased two beautiful, warm, soft wool blankets that were a fair value for the quality. read more

A lovely old house converted into an art gallery, shop and tea room, set in lovely grounds overlooking the sea. The art in the building is mostly for sale and and affordable prices. There are also some installations in smaller rooms. Mixtures of ceramics and paintings mostly. The shop reminds me of a national trust shop, with good quality local craft gifts and cards-I bought quite a lot! The cafe is in the conservatory area, selling cream teas, cakes and wines. No large meals served here. You can sit on the benches outside which is nice on a sunny day. In the grounds there is a small theatre and short woodland walk. Worth popping in for an hour. read more

Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw is Wales' oldest art venue. Its picturesque setting and regularly changing exhibitions make it a 'must visit' for us whenever we are on the Llyn Peninsula - (which is as often as we can get here!) At the time of writing the exhibition was housing a variety of work celebrating the life of poet R.S. Thomas. In addition to the beautiful house, there is the opportunity to explore the Winlann woodland with paths winding past the amphitheatre that has been constructed in the grounds. If you feel like some more strenuous walking, then why not work your way up to the sculpture of the Iron Man and enjoy the view across Llanbedrog beach and beyond! Back to the Gallery for us then as we can't bypass an opportunity to visit the Tea Room! Whether it's for a lunchtime panini or afternoon tea and cake, the food is always excellent and home made too. With a relaxed setting in the large conservatory, the service is always friendly and welcoming. Roll on our next visit! read more

This gallery has a lovely cafe. Really nice homemade food is served in a conservatory area.

I found the cafe here disappointingly average. This is an amazing building in a fantastic location showcasing some wonderful modern art The staff are great and the cafe is situated in a great conservatory setting too. But. and there are two. The homemade food is at times a bit disappointing for the price. Second gripe is the atmostphere which is surprisingly more 'greasy spoon' than it should be. That's fueled by dated decor, broken ikea lamps and countless dead flies in the conservatory fabric that lines the roof. The body of the gallery is spot on, I really hope they do a quality make over of this venue to do it justice. read more
