I do wish that they explained in taking the posts out 8 weeks later that they unscrew from the front of the ear not the back. I used dental forceps and wire cutters to get them off. I searched youtube for answers and they just said wiggle back and forth until they are free. After cutting the post off one ear, I could reconstruct it and see where the problem was in removing the back, like a regular earring.

When hubby and I moved permanently to the Cape, we were looking for a good tattoo artist. I asked everyone whom I encountered (who had a tatt that I liked) who did the artwork and they all said Todd at Gearhead Tattoo. Fast forward to now. Hubby and I decided to get tattoos. He pieced together something that he wanted and I knew I wanted a Shiva tattoo. I scoured the internet for an example and found one that was in the line of what I wanted but probably could never be recreated because of the poor photography. We go to GHT and Todd listens to what we want. He tells me not to worry, he'll find one like it by the time we come back for our tatts. Hubby keeps rattling on about what he wants while showing Todd his makeshift artwork. Todd is listening politely while doodling on his IPad. I'm thinking this guy isn't really listening, then voila! He turns the IPad around and shows my husband what he sketched and my husband was stunned. It was exactly what he had envisioned. Two weeks later, we go in for the tatts and Todd shows me the Shiva that he found and enhanced and I was blown away. I also thought this will never look the same on my arm -- it's just too colorful and detailed. Well it is the most beautiful tattoo I've every seen and have ever gotten. Seriously, I can't stop looking at it. He even acquiesced to the orientation that I wanted which is Shiva's head toward my wrist so I can look at him. He spent every bit of 3 hours working intently on this art. During the whole time, we talked, joked and I just had a great time. Todd worked on every piece of detail while keeping me entertained for 3 hours. This is not easy but he is gifted not only in art, but in making the client relax and feel comfortable. I was so pleased that I'm going back for another in a month. As for hubby, the tattoo is exactly the vision my husband had and he is extremely pleased. He is now thinking of adding to it. The discussion of aftercare was complete and is also referenced on their website. In addition, unlike my previous, smaller tattoos, this did not scab because of the new type of bandage they use. Awesome experience. Awesome shop. Awesome artist. If you go you must see Todd.

We visited a couple of shops in the downtown area and eventually ended up at this one. They were appointment only but we explained we were only in town for a weekend, so they were gracious enough to accommodate! We submitted the art we we're looking for by email, less than 10 minutes later we had quotes and an appointment for the very next morning Our Guy was G.B. He was also the guy who was so quick to reply and work with us via email. So obviously this guys is a world class artist, but he was also one of the coolest human beings we ever met.
