Took some items to Plato on Guelph Line. Had two big bags with shoes/boots and was told I would get a text when they had gone through my stuff and there was one other person in front of me they had to go through first. About 10 minutes later get a text that they were done. Was told they couldn't take anything because it was a little old and out of style. Thing is I don't think they even looked at these clothes because they were exactly as I brought them in. Had a lot of stuff from SHEIN, body Con dresses, sneakers with rhinstones, very modern and 100 times better than what I had seen on their racks. Stop hiring people who don't know quality because frankly Value Village looks like they have nicer stuff than what they had on their racks. They had a purse I would have thrown away for sale for 25.00! No name brand, boring as hell and very worn. Get real, this place is a joke. read more

This place was recommended to me so that I could trade in some of my lightly used clothes I no longer wear and in return receive cash. The location is easy enough to find. It's located in the Food Basics plaza across from the Fortinos. The store itself is large. They were having a sidewalk sale the day I was there. All items outside the store were $2.00. There's a wide selection of items to choose from for both Men and Women - shoes, clothes, outwear, bags, accessories and even things like nail polish and body jewellery. I didn't find any items appealing to me - intact I though some items were a bit outdated or not my style and other decent quality items were overpriced. I brought 2 large bags of items here - 1 full of clothes and the other full of shoes. The process is easy enough. You go to the side counter as soon as you enter and sign in. Show ID, describe your bags and then within 15-20 mins the employees go through your items one by one. They enter each item into a computer system that tells them the going retail price for the name brand item and then thy take 70-80% off the retail price to determine the offer they will give you. I am giving this store 1 star because I don't even think they genuinely went through my items. They did not even take one item out to buy. Most of items are barely worn and in really good condition and they are all brand name - Bebe, Guess, Steven Madden etc. I was shocked they didn't take anything. They barely gave me a reason, just stating that my items are "too high-end" and not what they are looking for. It was a water of time for me to go there. Seems like they just want cheaper items from Garage and Aeropostale, not actual good name brands. I will not return and I definitely will not recommend bringing any items here to sell. read more

first time visiting from Toronto, it's a spacious store and there was one really nice employee (guy) who greeted me when I came in but as I bave read in multiple others reviews, most of clothing is brands like ae, garage, h&m, ardene and the likes. haven't practically noticed higher end mall brands during my visit, it probably sells when it gets posted on IG. what Lulu they had was 30% more than it usually is in Toronto so a plain Lulu black tank for $22.5 tax incl or a purple one for over $28 tax incl is a no go for me personally. if I was local I would certainly visit often and follow their IG updates. as I have visited without a car, I haven't tried to sell here. Prices for lower range stuff and items condition seemed fair as far as I could tell. Didn't make a purchase. read more

Ive been to Platos a few times over the years. However i have only sold once before until today. I had a garbage bag full of decently worn but not stained clothing. All decent brands such as adidas, old navy and reitmans. I had checked their website before going and all the items I brought were on the list. Still nice staff so thats nothing to complain about . The items i was browsing were very well worn but good items for the price. I will still go back but i wish they realized that they need to be less picky. read more

I shopped recently at the Hamilton,mountain location and I've only been there twice but they don't have a lot of brand name items for a place claiming to sell them,the staff is unpleasant and unprofessional and that's being generous.Needless to say I will never return. read more

I used to be able to get good finds at reasonable prices at this location but their selection hasn't been very good lately. Most of the brands they are selling are cheap quality like Ardene, H&M and Garage. I've definitely seen this store go down hill in the last year or so. I've also noticed that staff barely look at the items that I've brought in. It felt like a waste of time. That being said this location does have a very wide selection of clothing compared to others but quality and selection is definitely not their strong point. Staff are also very young high school students and not very professional. The few times I've been this past year I've seen 2-3 staff huddled near the change room chatting and laughing while no one was at cash helping customers. Management seems poor compared to other locations such as the Oakville one. Won't be returning any time soon. read more

The owners are awful people who don't deserve any of the success they have. Karen is unbelievably rude and be-littles staff members in front of customers and her son Chris isn't any better. I have been a customer of Once Upon a Child and Plato's Closet for quite some time but I would rather drive 45 minutes to a different store instead of going here. On top of that, their clothes are in awful condition and I rarely find anything that is worth the price they've listed it as. Would rate it a 0 if I was able to. read more
