I always find some pretty decent stuff in there but whenever I sell they don't take very much. I was just in there the other day and on their Instagram account they had posted the night before that jump suits and dresses were "in style". The next day I took in several jumpsuits and they didn't take any of them and said they weren't in good condition or werent in style even though their post says otherwise and both of them had tags and we're in great condition (one was brand-new, with tags). I always bring in Bath and Bodyworks and a lot of namebrand stuff and they never take more than 10 items when I bring in boxes full. weird how they say stuff is in style but then won't take good quality stuff. it always seems like it basically Hass to be brand new out of the store for them to take it. read more

I went there a few weeks ago and was basically robbed because they don't keep clothing past 48 hrs which wasn't disclosed with me. I made sure I picked out the clothes that were nice and they basically robbed me because I didn't get my clothes or my money. The only reason I had this happen to me was because my last Plato's closet experience I wasn't texted in a month so I had go in and ask them for my money but, since then I didn't know there was a specific time I could pick up my clothes because they took an entire month to give me my money. I went to this location and I wasn't told that there was a time limit and they took my clothes. If I knew this was going to happen I would've gladly donated to people who actually need it not a greedy company who will resell my clothes. read more

Pros: 1: lots of cute clothes that are in-style 2: they offer fitting rooms 3: they have a return-policy (1 week I believe) if you keep all receipts/tags 4: staff is pleasant 5: clean Cons: 1: for a consignment shop, they are not as cheap as one might think. Their prices are comparable to Ross or TJ Maxx 2: there are numerous items that are stained/ripped/missing buttons - look over clothing carefully! 3: they do not buy anything that is out of style or too old & they drastically underpay you for your items Overall, it is a cute spot to find in-style outfits but you can find just as cute items at Ross/TJ Maxx for brand new. I always come and give them the benefit of doubt. I bring in BAGS of clothes that are absolutely worth more than $20 . Perfect condition, new products, in season..yet they're so stuck up about it. They have the nerve lol they say "we weren't able to buy these off of you" and then once you go to grab the bags back they offer to "take them off your hands"!! The customer service at this location was horrific. I had a singular dress to try on, and every time I tried to get someone's attention, they turned the other way. I shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes to try on one piece of clothing. While I was shopping all I hear is the girls upfront gossiping and complaining about their job/ coworkers? Honestly really disappointing, because I like Plato's. If you can't trust the high schoolers to get the job done on their own, you should probably have someone there to supervise them. I usually always start at Clothes Mentor next door and then bring in anything they didn't take to Plato's. At CM, they are speedy (even when I bring in a bin, bag and a box of shoes) around 45 mins - 1 hour. If they don't take anything, they explain that they're looking for things about to be in season, etc. It's very nice in there, and the staff is very friendly and nice. At Plato's..... it's another world. The staff is rude, it's ALWAYS messy (I get they're sorting through clothes, but my god) and they take FOREVER. Of course it depends on how much stuff you bring in, but I have some very nice things in there that should be a no brainer. I've now been sitting in the parking lot for THREE HOURS, and it still says my clothes are in queue!!!! Literally HOW! Either come here with 3 items, at the beginning of today, or not at all. A lot of the things that I brought in were from the stores that they supposedly like to buy clothes from and I wasn't able to sell a single piece. I hate Plato's closet overall but this was one of the worst experiences. I don't believe that they looked through all my clothes as some had "too much wear"....you know, with tags on them. Also included things that had only been worn once from places like H&M and American Eagle. Not only do I not trust that they truly even looked at my clothes, the employees personal conversation about Snapchat and another employee clearly distracted them. read more

I took my daughters shopping here yesterday and couldn't believe how much money I saved on new summer outfits for them. They have American Eagle, Forever 21, etc. clothing I spend 4x more at the mall!! Most prices were marked $3, $5, $8 and $12 for very nice skirts, shorts and tops in great condition. I even bought a few American Eagle tops for myself. I plan on trying to sell some clothes the girls have grow out of so I hope that experience is as good. Follow up: I went in to sell my daughters' clothes and shoes that were in great shape, name brand, and in season. They only took a few items and asked if I wanted to "donate" the rest. Without thinking I donated the items. In retrospect I should have taken them to Goodwill. I won't try to sell there again as I feel it's a waste of time and didn't care for clerks attitude. But, I still find great deals on buying clothes. read more

I like this place for what it is. It's a "consigment-ish" store geared towards tweens and teens (and even hip old ladies like me!). They are chock full of skinny jeans, Aeropostale T's, AE hoodies and good stuff like that. Plenty of stuff for the boys too! My experience more or less is with selling. The girls who work in there are really nice and always willing to help. The selling process was fast and painless. I felt like they gave a fair amount. It is all processed by computer so the sales associates have no control of the payout. You are not going to make your millions by selling your wares here but if you are looking for some gas money (a gallon or two) or a meal (at McDonald's) you might want to look at selling here. You will definitely get more here than you would selling at a garage sale...and a lot less work too! read more

I am not sure how people can support companies like this. They rarely buy your clothes (and yes I took in name brand like Rue, For21, American eagle) and if they do they give you some change and then turn around and sell them for $10 per pair of shorts. It's insane. You can get just as nice name brand stuff at Goodwill for a third of the price. As far as selling- you might enjoy your experience if you enjoy spending two days going through clothes and neatly washing and folding everything for them to go through them, not fold them back, throw them in your basket and say "nope not taking anything." Otherwise- be smart enough to not sell here. You would probably do better on Facebook marketplace honestly. read more

I used to love this store and would go quite often with friends, but the last time we went here my friend literally got lice from one of the pieces of clothing! Be careful here, nothing is sanitized. If you must go here, don't try anything on until you can wash it at home. Lice sucks and it's not worth trying on a jacket to have to sanitize and clean everything in your house afterwards. Everyone says how they buy all their clothes and get so much out of what they go to sell. The past 2 times I sold there I got $3 the first and $8 the second. The first I admit I didn't go in at the right time. So I took the girls advice and went in to sell at the beginning of the season. Went to see over $300 of summer clothes yesterday. Came out with $8. I feel ripped off and that my time has been wasted. I don't buy cheep clothes but when I looked around I saw clothes with holes and rips and things from Walmart. Went there today to look around and my wife found a h&m jacket for $12.00. Immediately when we got into the car she showed me what she had bought which is when we noticed a bedbug stuck on it. Took it back into the store where they did give us our money back without hassle, however they placed jacket back behind the counter with other inventory instead of putting it in a bag to keep separate to prevent infestation. Very leery about purchasing from this store and would rather spend the money on something I know didn't come from someone's bedbug infested home. Buyer beware. read more

So i come in and these girls were already snobby. Brought three bags of clothes that had all name brand things in it, because i already know how platos only takes name brand stuff. Then i come home to find out these little bitches did not even go through my clothes bags, all the clothes were in there the exact same way i packed them. I never have a problem with places but I HAD TO WRITE THIS REVIEW! Today I had a lot to sell to Plato's bc I'm moving to Florida. I had shorts that didn't fit me from last summer hardly worn. Practically BRAND NEW! I was waiting for them to check my clothes and this young girl at the cash register kept Pointing at my friend and I and whispering. being totally unprofessional and was laughing. She was the one checking my clothes and hardly didn't take anything. I had new Uggs they didn't take, sperrys,converses and a lot of cute maxi dresses. Went there a few days ago to check out some shoes. Found a pair of Jordans on the shelf for a good price. After examination i found they were replicas. Let the woman at the front of the store know that these were fakes. She got slightly offended and asked how i determined that. I showed her the multiple reasons why these were not authentic and she responded saying her staff is very knowledgable in shoes. I went back to this store and found the fake pair of shoes on the shelf again. Most platos stores aim to sell legit shoes and not try to mislead customers. I brought in a bunch of clothing the other day. I was surprised at how much they didn't take- they aren't fond of the graphic tees or seersucker dresses. They took the jeans, dresses, and tank tops I had from places like Abercrombie and American Eagle. I got around forty bucks, which is good compared to the nothing I would get otherwise!
