This is a great location! I wish I lived closer because this would definitely become a regular stop for me. Their selection is out-of-this-world and reasonably priced. They have a whole wall of strictly Frye boots and VS pink. The staff is friendly enough! The store is very large so set aside at least two hours to look through just the women's section. I scored some Jeffrey Campbell for free people boots $25, VS PINK leggings $14 and free people tunic top $12. Great location! read more

I've tried Maple Shade but always left frustrated with their attitude, so I gave Deptford a try. I called to ask what season they were buying, the girl said they would take a look at anything but really needed summer clothes. I brought in about 20 items, mostly summer, from companies they listed on their website. They said it would be about 30 mins. When I returned they showed me the items they were interested in buying- two sweaters, a long sleeve shirt, and a VS freebie. I was really baffled, since (1) these were the oldest items in my bag, (2) two of these were from Goodwill, and (3) they said they needed summer clothes so desperately. The offer was $11 for four items, one of which was a NWT Camuto sweater, and when I asked what the offer would be without that it went down to $5 for the three items. I ended up keeping all my items. The reason I give this store 3 stars instead of 1/2 is because the two employees in store, as well as the one on the phone were all very friendly and had good customer service skills. Even when I decided to keep everything, the cashier said "I completely understand, we know our offers aren't the best". If you live local and plan on donating items to Goodwill anyway, it might be worth your time to drop your bag here first to see if you get anything, but otherwise it's not worth it. read more

If you want to have your time wasted, by all means come here. I came about a month ago and was told to come in the next few weeks because they would be accepting fall items (sweaters, jeans, etc). I brought two bags of clothes, mostly American Eagles sweaters I've worn maybe twice. A quarter of my stuff was new with tags, too. They told me it would be a 10 minute wait and I was there for 40 minutes, probably because the three workers were socializing more than anything else. While looking around, I found sweaters with huge pulls in them, shirts with stains, leggings with rips, you name it. I also worked in retail for 7 years and know when most styles were made. They have product tags with dates if you look hard enough . When my buy was done, and the worker told me they couldn't accept ANYTHING. I laughed. I drove 30 minutes out of my way for them to not take A SINGLE THING. Not sure what their standards of "in style and brand name" are because I found Walmart items here, but please don't waste your time or money shopping here. Unfortunately all NJ Platos Closets are held to this standard of inconsistency it seems. PA ones seem to be the better stores to shop with better prices and brands. read more

The staff is pretty nice they greet you when you walk in and say hi, but the buyers behind the counter are RIDICULOUS. I brought in true religion hoodies, fendi sunglasses, and a coach purse and they accepted nothing, but the fendi glasses. THEY OFFERED SIX DOLLARS FOR MY BRAND NEW AUTHENTIC FENDI SUNGLASSES. Do they have any idea what they're doing? Last time I brought in an aldo bag and it was apparently worth 20 dollars to them... do the brands aldo and fendi even compare!?!? As merchandise, meh. a lot of hollister and abercrombie stuff from 2002. I only found one decent thing i was willing to purchase, a H&M purse that i had originally wanted to buy when it sold in stores. It was selling for fifteen dollars. Do not waste your time, money, energy. This place is just horrible. It looks repulsive on the inside. I feel like the second I step in here I am going to get bed bugs. I run through their purse collection... they do not carry anything high-end like Coach or Michael Kors, but there is a lot of older Vera Bradley purses. I also noticed a few of their purses were torn up. This particular Plato's closet is geared more towards the youth. Their content isn't really mature and if you are looking for more conservative pieces, you would do better to shop around. read more

This was my first time at a Plato's Closet but I have been selling many items on the Poshmark app for well over a year now and have made almost $900 doing so. Honestly, the "reasons" that they pass on your clothes that they recite to you are completely made up. They said my clothes had stains on them, were out of style or they were overstocked in that category. I roamed their store while they were going through my clothes and they were not overstocked in any categories I brought in. None of my clothes had holes either. They gave me almost $100 for 13 items, which is much less than I thought since it was brands like Free People, Seven Jeans, and J Crew. I will not go back. read more

There is a lot of stuff here, but possibly TOO much stuff. I'm not a big girl and I could barely fit through the aisles, I don't know how a bigger frame person, or even worse: someone in a wheelchair can fit down those aisles. You could find a lot if nice things if you have all afternoon to look for your size. read more

I went in this store with intentions to sell two trash bags full of clothes. Nice clothes. Name Brand clothes. Lightly worn, some even new! Now..this store is advertised to be a consignment shop with hours of business between 10am-9pm. I arrived at 8:02pm. They apparently stop buying clothes at 8pm. I don't understand how a consignment shop stops doing what one of their main purposes in business is to do...BUY! Makes no sense. No worries though, I will never go back there again, especially after reading about how badly people get ripped off with the items they bring in to sell. The girl behind the counter was nice and was just doing her job, but from a business perspective, this little rule to stop buying an hour before closing time is baffling to me. I'm a twenty-something young woman so I figured Plato's would be the best place to sell my stuff. I came in here with a large amount of clothing. None of it was worn and a lot of the items still had tags; they were from places like Forever 21, American Apparel, etc. They were all styles Plato's says on their website they want. I waited around for half an hour only for them to give me back about 2/3 of my stuff. They said it doesn't sell well but it was all cute recent stuff. And honestly, it was a lot nicer than some of the stuff they were selling when I looked around their store. Some items they sold had stains, yet they wouldn't take my brand new, never worn clothing. And for the little bit that they did take, they only gave me fourteen dollars. I'm pretty sure one of the items they took alone was worth fourteen dollars, not all of the items together. It wasn't even worth the gas that it took to get there. Better than my sister, though. She got five bucks. Trust me, you're better off doing a good deed and donating your clothes to a homeless shelter than getting your hopes up on making any money from Plato's. read more

Absolutely horrible. Went in for my first time with 3 bags full of new shoes and clothes, some with tags. Bebe express calvin kline etc. I was told to wait only 20 minutes while they look it over. They took over an hour and half then told me to stand in line. Being my first time I figured they were busy and I simply listen to what they asked me to do. Didnt expect to make much but figured i would try. I started to hear the girls making fun of how my clothes are doll size and that I am too small and this is sad. I am a size 2 and pettite. I couldn't believe these employees would say this in front of everyone. I get in line and they told me my clothes are too small and to high designer. They said they would give me $3 for one bag. I said no way please give them back. They ended up giving me the wrong bags and couldn't locate my bag for 5 minutes. When I got my bag back, the bag was ripped and clothes were thrown around. I got something back with a stain on it too. Looks like someone has a soda spill on it. Came home open the bag and items were gone. read more

sadly, the women behind the counter know nothing about quality clothing. i was told my items wouldn't sell, they were either outdated or not good for their store. all my items were from my 17 year old granddaughter and from last summer, only 1 year old, all in style with the teens, yet they didn't want them. i told the young woman that my items were definitely more updated then many of the garments on the racks (which i had 40 mins to scan through while waiting for my items to be evaluated), which she didn't comment on. their stock is 'over-stocked', racks are overly crowded, clothing looks awful, and the store itself is dirty. in addition, the women behind the counter looked like they were ready to hit the clubs. i will not return. read more
