The pricing in this store/location was really reasonable compared to other stores I've been too! The staff were visible and present, very helpful and professional. I used to love this store, but it feels like the quality of the clothing they chose really is not at all the same as it used to be. When I did pick up items I found holes or tears which made me weary about any item I did end up wanting to take. I feel that Plato's could be more careful/selective with the clothing they chose to purchase. read more

I went in over a week ago when this location re-opened to the public. When I payed for my items, I was told that when my card was originally swiped that it did not go through and the transaction had been voided. I continued with my transaction, successfully swiping my card a second time, and left. I waited the standard 7-10 days to see a voided charge on my account but it didn't appear on my bank statement. I went to the store to speak with someone about the situation but was told that a supervisor wasn't available to rectify it. I left my name and number but have still not been contacted. My account still has not been credited for the transaction that was "voided". I'm not angry but I would appreciate it if businesses didn't charge me a second time for merchandise that I already paid for. read more

I love this place! My friend always talked about going but we normally ended up at the same 3 places to shop. Finally we have this one a try. I fell in love! I was so pleased with the variety of clothes for all body shapes and sizes. It's nice having a store that offers for women with curves as well as small and petite. I will definitely be back. The only thing I would change are the dressing rooms. It feels very small and hard to change in them if you're taller. read more

It's difficult to give Plato's any more than a 2. I had brought in several clothes to sell. These clothes were not old by any means & most had been hardly worn (I had recently lost weight). I filled up the basket as instructed and was advised it would be about 30 minutes. Once I came back image my surprise when I was told that the would only except one pair (which just happened to be the which was never worn & still had the tags on them). I was given $4.95 cents for the one pair which barley paid for my gas up and back. Plato's needs to be more specific when a customer calls inquiring about what clothes they will accept. Apparently they want near new clothes. I was told that some of the jeans were faded. Pardon me have you ever heard of faded jeans which you can purchase at any stores. This will be my first & last visit to Plato's. read more

The service is unbearable, as the workers are rude, sloppy, and with various attitudes. Coming here your bound to see the terrible respect. They don't wash their clothes if you are trying to donate they will use cheap excuses as it smells like smoke or pet hair, as i brought in brand new clothes to test them. do not recommend to anyone. read more

I really wasn't expecting much anyway and she at least took the time to explain why she couldn't take the rest and used what she could take toward my purchase at the store. I only give a 4 Star cause a while back I brought in Coach sandals and they would give me 6-7$ for and then I sold em on eBay for 20. Otherwise make sure you see Valerie! I heard about this place on the radio and was curious...I went in because I was going to a store in the same shopping center. So much stuff in there. This is a great store for anyone on a budget or who has teens. Nearly everything in the store is next to new and in great shape. There are so many name brand items! This place is such a wonderful idea and just what El Paso needed. I found so many items that still had the tags on them and I purchased tons of things at a great price.. I have been to this place many times now and when it comes to selling it's very unpredictable. Their taste in clothing is questionable because every time I look around they have a lot of dirty items (shoes mostly) it makes no sense, because that's always the reason they don't take my clothing because of stains. Last time I tried to sell to them I bought a dress I wore not to long ago to a wedding a beautiful lacy teal dress. Once again they told me they couldn't take any of my stuff so as I was grabbing my dress one of the girls that worked there seriously asked me "are you still going to take that?" It's obvious to me that someone wanted my dress but they weren't willing to pay me for. I was completely flabbergasted. I won't be going back ever. read more

Poorly educated employees when it comes to buying clothing. Not only with my items but other customers too from what I experienced being there. Comparing my items to the ones they have in the store.. you can notice the lack of trend knowledge they have here. Organization is a huge deal too. Nothing is ever properly arranged. I'd much rather sell my clothes at Uptown Cheapskate, where I am actually greeted, feel comfortable selling my clothes and will actually receive an offer. You can sign in on a tablet at Uptown and not a piece of paper at Plato.. which does not help the earth AT ALL. read more

I left confused and a bit irritated, I had done my research on Plato's closet beforehand reading that they only accepted clothes that were gently used and somewhat still in season, so beforehand I made sure my selection was in great condition. I had a bag full of Forever 21 shorts & skirts, Pacsun & Tilly's crop tops some things which were never worn with tags still on. Even a few things from Urban Outfitters. I dropped my bag off at the front and they told me it would be a little bit so I decide to shop around. To my surprise they did not except ANY of my items. I honestly could not believe it. While shopping I had seen shoes with holes and soles run down, items that had small stains on them, not that they didn't have good items few & far between. I'm a father who helped my daughter take some clothes she no longer used after moving back into town. I am a retired retail executive of 30 years and understand the concept which does offer a value. The store seemed neat clean and organized. The prices seemed inexpensive and the items were current and in season. The concern is the training and professionalism of the staff. The dress of the sales clerk at the counter was a white bikini top covered by an oversized t-shirt and skin tight denim jeans that was far from reflecting the stylish look they represent and sell to customers. The young ladies that attended us seemed less than friendly and did not explain any details of their requirements or any conditions on taking items. After reading the previous Yelp reviews, it is apparent many unsatisfied people were not aware either. To make a long story short, 90% of what we took was rejected because they said it was damp or had an odor which they did not. The process is subjective and could be construed as a personal issue by the sales person or manager making the decision. Not a solid basis to run this business model successfully. read more

The Plato's Closet in Dallas is great, so I thought to give this one a try. I left angry and confused! I brought in 5 pairs of pants. One was $89 pair of Michael Kors pants, Hollister, Abercrombie&Fitch, BullHead and Aeropostale. All in great shape. No holes, rips or pulls or stains. Also had a nice dress shirt paid $25 for. I stood and watch as one girl was going through them, she was going to take all of them till another girl came over and said no to them all but the shirt! She offered $2 for the shirt too! I asked her why not the pants and she said they were not good enough! It kills me because you can look through their stuff and see shoes so worn and dirty they should be thrown away and pants/shirt/dresses that have pulls and small holes in them. Some were even pants that were clearly hand cut into "shorts" The owner's need to rethink what they want the girls to take in and tell them to check their rudeness at the door! If I could contact the owners directly I would.(They also own the Once Upon A Child next to Plato's) read more
