Plato's closet does not stand by their word. Clothes go out of style which in return means that when you go to sell some of your clothes to Plato's they have the right to refuse them. However, they did not even open my (grocery) bag full of clothes. It contained hollister jeans, PINK clothing, Nike Leggings and more juniors sizes. ALL WERE GENTLY USED. They continued to state that styles don't always stay in style which I understand. But to find my bag unopened and not even looked through SHOWS LAZINESS. Bad experience! read more

when I first walked in they all seemed extremely snobby then was told my clothes needed to be in a bin so I went and got one brought my clothes back in and they picked through my freshly washed clothes like they were dirty or trash then proceeded to tell me they were out dated. when they had fur coats that nobody wears these days but ok I'll take my business elsewhere.... read more

Do not go here. Do not donate your clothing here. Do not waste your time or energy these people are immature and they price gouge and the staff are like truly very mean people. Quite sad that a buisness can even be run like this. Not to mention the out of date clothing that is so expensive??? For why? Please, please do not waste your time trying to shop or sell here. I have tried to sell to this location four different times. Each time I brought gently used, name brand styles that were similar to product being sold new in stores. Each time I got the same canned response, almost verbatim: "We had to pass today, due to the styles not selling well or minor condition issues. We can either donate or send them back with you." I have no idea how this store gets new product, because I also haven't heard of anyone who has had success trying to sell to them either. The only way you'll have any luck is if you spend $200 at the mall and then immediately bring the items to the store, without trying them on or taking them out of the bag. Trying to buy? You'll have way more luck at the Clothes Mentor store in the same strip mall. Friendlier staff, triple the product, and a wider variety of styles and sizes. This Plato's Closet has some decent product, but you won't feel valued as a customer and you won't be satisfied with the quality for the price. I've shopped at other Plato's Closet stores and had fantastic experiences, but never here. read more

I came in and I felt like I was in the wrong place. Snobbish, no greeting when walked in. Cashier (would not call her Customer Rep) told me "Jewelry was not returnable" like I she was talking to her maid... Very horrible service. We walked in and gave them a bag full of name brand clothes, half of which still had tags on them. Told us it'd be about 10-15 min. I watched the lady throw our bag on the ground and 10 min later told us our buy was done. The girls were extremely rude and unprofessional. The fact they didn't even hand me my bag or look through what I brought in and just threw my bag on the ground was enough to make me never go back or recommend anyone to the store again. read more

I came here with my mom and the girl who helped us was extremely unpleasant. No greeting, no smile, no nothing. I've worked in retail and understand it can be difficult sometimes, but there is a level of professionalism that has to be maintained. She told us it would take 10-15 minutes to go through our stuff, so we decided to look around. I had bags full of Nike, American Eagle, Victoria's Secret, Steve Madden, etc. Everything was gently worn and bought within the last couple years, so I was pretty confident I would walk out with at least a little money. As I was looking around, I noticed that a lot of their stuff was worn out looking, not very good brands, or just not cute at all. I was looking in the men's section and was kind of shocked to find a plain, solid T-shirt from Old Navy for $8. I could get that brand new from Old Navy for the same price. So after 15 minutes, we went to check to see if they were done. Our bags looked like they hadn't been touched. She told us nothing we brought was current enough, or was a brand that would sell there. So you're telling me they'll take Old Navy T-shirts and worn out shoes, but won't take barely worn Victoria's Secret bras and Nike sweatshirts? Don't even bother with this place, just go to Clothes Mentor. They have way cuter stuff and way friendlier staff. read more

Just tried shopping at this store while visiting friends up North earlier last week. This location does not allow children under the age of 7 to shop with their parents... The owners and management should both be ashamed to act like this...those kids are future customers. I will be contacting the corporate HQ on this issue...but for now we will NOT be shopping at Plato's Closets ANYWHERE in the US....PERIOD. read more

Walking in the door, I already knew it was going to be a bad experience. No one said even said "hi" as I walked in with 4 HUGE bags to try and sell. She said it would take about 30 minutes, so I thought I would just look around until they were done. Not even 10 MINUTES later and they said they were done going through my clothes. There was NO way. I understand that they have the right to refuse my clothes, but EVERYTHING in that bag was either PINK, North Face, Under Armour, Nike, and some other top brands. It took me by surprise that they took absolutely NOTHING. They said they weren't "in style" or weren't "good sellers" for them, which also took me by surprise because everything on the racks looked like it was from Walmart and Target. From reading other reviews, it seems like this isn't the first time this has happened. I won't be going back. read more

This Plato's closet is always very organized! It makes my shopping experience much easier! Whenever I sell clothes I am very happy with the quote and the employees are super friendly to me! Also, there are many designer purses for sale at alarmingly wonderful prices! I recommend everyone to shop at Plato's! read more

Honestly this place doesn't even deserve the one star. The employees here have disgusting behavior and are extremely unprofessional. I witnessed an encounter with a couple of employees and a customer that just left me in a shocked state. These people act paranoid, snobby and extremely racist towards their customers. They even dared to touch the customers toddler without permission. I can honestly say i will never, ever step foot in this establishment again in my life. They don't deserve any customers with they way they treat them. They don't deserve their jobs. You just don't treat people that way. read more

I agree with Miriam B. I brought in my son's designer jeans, (Aeropostale, American Eagle.) I was in the middle of moving, so not all dressed up, and a hot day. They were only going to buy 2 out of 9 pairs. I was confused because they are designer brands. The girl said the jeans smelled musty. I told her, I had just washed them. She replied, It must be your washer then. That is crazy, I am living in a new apartment with a brand new washer in it. I took all the jeans back, and will never go back there again. Very snobbish. I looked at the clothes on the racks, and most were pretty worn. I actually think the girl was smelling the odor, in their own store. I would give no stars, but had to give one star to post. read more

I was just in PC Fargo, ND location. They have 2 plum colored Michael Kor down coats. Very cute and I almost bought it but since it was priced at $150 I thought I should price check before buying. I found the same coat on Nordstrom's Rack for $99. I hope nobody gets ripped off by purchasing this coat from Platos Closet! Need to be careful because the Fargo, ND location way ups the prices. Staff was friendly but phoney - actually trying to talk me into buying this over priced coat. read more
