I was in Plato's Closet one afternoon, shoppers consisted of people my age which was nice to see (50-60). Several times being there you hear conversations between customers dropping off their items for sale and the sales associates. The employees at the Oshawa locations have said 'we cater to the 18-30 age bracket'. Hello, read the room, you appear thick! When hearing that comment, more than once I might add, I felt embarrassed to be there. I don't understand you have items for sale and us the customer are happy to visit until we hear those words being spoken by your sales force right in front of us. I deserve a Kate Spade purse, Levi's or a nice Lulu Lemon top... right? If I decide the item is something I want, then I should be able to purchase said item without being embarrassed. Rethink your slogan and start again. I gave up on Plato's Closet. I have the right to spend my money on items of my choice without hearing your staff tell people we are not your clients of choice. read more

I took clothes to them and they only looked through one bag and didn't even refold the clothes for me!

I was absolutely mortified with my experience at this store. I brought in brand new name brand clothes with the tags still on them. Shortly after the manager told me we're not taking any of your clothes suggested washing my clothes because there was stains and hair on them in an extremely rude tone. She continued asking very personal offensive questions. lt was humiliating, especially since the clothes are in perfect condition. I believe this happened because they were trying to close for the night as I came in late. Will never shop here and will be letting my family and friends know about this terrible experience. read more

Good selection of new styles. They mostly sell XS-L so getting anything beyond that is difficult. They have purses, creams, shoes, clothes, and accessories. The only thing I have noticed is that some of the items are really close to brand new retail value, when it is a second hand store. The staff are really great here too! read more

first time here yesterday, I am from Toronto and don't drive so this was a one off for me. I was sadly also in a bit of a time crunch so I haven't checked out mens stuff either. I must say right away Lululemon prices shocked me. I go to Platos every week, even multiple locations sometimes as I am an avid thrifter (Mississauga, Scarborough, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, sometimes Brampton and I've been to Oakville once) but none of those have prices close to what I have seen here being asked for Lulu. I have sold at these other places and know how the pricing works and never complained about prices so I am not just complaining for the sake of it. Lulu I saw was $18-45 for just plain tank tops and for a pair of leggings, I haven't even looked scuba hoodies and long sleeves (as I don't wear those). incl tax, I have spent this amount on super similar style Lulu leggings on ebay months ago, diamond jacquard colourway. I will not go to a thrift store to pay ebay price. As Lulu was the only thing I saw that I wanted to buy I left empty handed. too bad because those pieces were really nice and if prices were as in other stores what I usually pay without exception ($10-14 tops, $15-22 leggings) I would have gladly bought all those items. I attached photos. other prices seemed ok from what I saw and items condition was good too, I notices no rips and stains. As I got nothing I didn't talk to any staff, the store was busy anyway. There was an older gentleman who from the reviews must be owner and he was very engaged with sellers and other staff members which was nice to see for a change and I heard staff members explaining to sellers about selling process and prices so there isn't much space left for misunderstanding, either you agree to not get much for what you bring (as I know from the start) or not, so know what you want to part with and is it worth bc there are multiple ways to part with stuff as we all know. If I was a local I'd certainly revisit at least twice a month and sell when I had something I wanted to sell. it was just too inconvenient to lug a bag with stuff all the way from Toronto to try and sell so I didn't bc I visited other places too. I also agree with another review, athletic section has lots of items which is great to see specially as weather is becoming nice. You guys need much more bags and accessories though so here's my tip :) read more

Honestly not the best! I bought a few things and didn't see any flaws with them came home and there was a stain on my shirt and two holes on the hoodie. Not acceptable. as well as I dropped my clothes off for them to take and they took three things out of all my clothes. Just seemed like a waste of my time read more

I love it. They always have my size, I find the nicest LuLu's in pretty good shape usually and have found some nice bags or sweaters. It's great for a college girl like me and it's got pretty trendy stuff. They can be extremely picky about the items to sell, but it's understandable. read more

This place is ridiculous! They stock outdated and over used items for extremely expensive prices. I have tried to bring in my brand name clothes multiple time to this store and they claim they are outdated and have stains? But are selling shorts with period blood stains for $20....if your lucky enough they will give you $7 for a brand new winter coat with tags attached but will turn around and sell it for 75 :/ needles to say I will not be returning to this store....DISGUSTING read more

Honestly I don't like this place. Trying to get them to take on clothes is hell. You bring in brand new trendy items that match their requests and they still don't take it. I find the staff to be rude. The prices aren't that different than if you were to buy the items new. Most of the clothing is outdated and plain. The sizing and how the clothes are organized is frustrating. Overall I think it could be a really nice place to shop if they paid more attention. read more

all I have to say is lol. This store has a slogan "we buy all seasons, all day, everyday" ........lol. Honestly people..... Do NOT even waste your time. I brought them a giant bag of really great quality and name brand clothing and they returned it all back and said they did not want it because they were over stocked. WASTE of my time! I would of rather dumped the bag of clothes in a dumpster or donation bin where it would of been appreciated much more. Wow... I wasted like 2$ In gas driving there.... Could of bought a tims coffee instead. This store sucks. Considering it is used clothing it should NOT be as expensive as it is. I would rather spend the same amount on a NEW piece of clothing.
