Well, first of all, this B&N is massive, taking up two floors in an outdoor Cincinnati shopping mall. Second, the curation is excellent, the shelves are fully stocked, and the bookish merch is outstanding. I smartly didn't bring my credit card with me when I stopped in when I was in the area- otherwise, I would have spent a fortune! Most B&N do not tempt me to spend good money on new books. I utilize libraries and need to read what I already own before I buy more. I am also trying to declutter. But this B&N is designed in such a way that I wanted to buy all the things! I love cottagecore- there's a curated area here of all things cottagecore. I love Jane Austen - there are many, many Jane Austen books and merch available here. Etc, etc. The staff seems eager to help, the natural light from all the windows make for a good shopping experience, and the bathrooms are perfect for those who also suffer from a bookstore-induced need to... use the facilities. I do wish the heavily discounted/last call book section was bigger for those of us who like to buy a large hardcover coffee table book for like, $5. But that's just my two cents. I like Barnes & Noble stores and this one was two story with many treasures to be had. We both were able to find some books we liked. There were many children's books and all of the typical adult categories of books. I like art books and magazines and was able to find both although I did find the magazine section a bit small. My daughter keeps a running list of books and was able to procure several that she wanted here. There were 3 cashiers so when we were ready we were checked out quickly. I always find books in this store a bit pricy but all the new books seem to be wherever you go. We will continue to shop at Barnes & Noble and this location will likely be visited again.

I actually found out about them at the Cincy Magazine Best of the East event as they had a booth there. The people at the booth were so kind, and handing out coupons to stop by their store in the future. I visited recently on a day I was doing a Tour of Milford. There is a gift here for everyone! The main room has so many things! There is Jewelry, baby and kids items, a wall of socks, purses, I mean honestly so many unique items I cannot list them all. They have cute seasonal decor in the second room, cards, sports stuff, frames, and again SO MUCH MORE! The owners are the sweetest people and the prices are reasonable even without the coupon! No matter what you buy, it is packed in a cute little gift bag with tissue paper to take home. If you were buying something just for you, this makes you feel like you gifted yourself!

I expected the public library at a small town to be less than impressive. I must say I was…read morepleasantly surprised. The Batavia branch of the Clermont County Public Library has a lot to offer. And not just for adults, but kids as well. While the fiction and non-fiction sections are a bit on the small side, the children's and young adult's section is pretty big for a small library. I was also very impressed with its larger than expected graphic novel section. And if there's anything that you want that you can't find at this location, not a problem. Just jump on the Clermont County Public Library website and if any other library in the state of Ohio has it, they'll send it right to this branch. There are five computers that can be used at least an hour at a time if you need to surf the net. You can also do work and print out papers from these terminals (at just ten cents apiece). There is an impressive DVD section, where you can check out movies for a very nominal price (two dollars I believe). And then there are children's DVD's that can be checked out for free. And these are the good ones! Dora, Spongebob, The Backyardigans, Blue's Clues, even some full-length movies. There are a number of events that take place throughout the month, usually in the small meeting room located in the back of the library. The staff is amazing. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and of course friendly. One time I left my jump drive in one of the computers (the jump drive with my resume on it). I panicked and could not remember where I could have lost it. Two days later, went to the library, and it was waiting for me behind the check-out desk. The only criticism I would have, was the removal of the interactive toys that were available in the children's section. It always kept my kids occupied as I roamed around looking for a book to check out. Maybe they got complaints that kids were too loud when they were playing. I don' know. Just a bummer that they removed it. As I mentioned earlier, a great library for a small town. Great staff. Great resources. Great selection. See the pictures for a few ideas. The children's area is full of books and games. I have spent many hours here putting together crafts with my children. From valentine bracelets to pirates treasure boxes. And when they were older, we made live Christmas wreaths just to name a few. The Aurora public library is a great place to build memories with your children. Check out the huge DVD selection. They also have complete series of many popular shows. I also love the huge selection of magazines they have here. I fee like I want for nothing. There are computers to use at the library, they will help you sign in. Check this out - WiFi is free, you don't need a password and upstairs near the card catalog is CHARGING station! Last time I was here I was on crutches so I was very thankful for the elevator. My final tip - download the "Stockcard" apt for iPhones and scan your library card along with many others. Now, you'll never be without your library card as long as you have your phone, your good to go.
