It's my second visit and I'm giving them a 3.5/5; great menu of bowls and smoothie options; the juice bar is unavailable (which loses a star because it's on the board but no real definitive answer when it will be available). I like how the service attendants have always been friendly, patient and easy to communicate with (a star right there). In response to some of the other reviews on cleanliness, I can't say I agree with those statements entirely, the service workers wear gloves and the floors are relatively clear of debris. Don't have super appetizing photos of the things I got (my fault) but got the açaí bowl (chocolate protein powder mixed in) and the booster smoothie. Booster smoothie was alright, I think the focus is more on health than the taste, and it's pretty hard to cover up protein powder flavor IMO. Açaí bowl was tasty with fresh fruit and crunchy granola, but, if you get nutella as a topping it could be overwhelmingly sweet for one person. I went on the playa bowl app and ordered two bowls. I noticed that they were taking a while and the estimated time of delivery just kept on going up. I called the store just to ask what was going on and the guy who answered the phone was just so rude and dissmissive. When you walk in you are greeted by a beach town aesthetic, with chalkboard writing, wooden tables, and a light blue motif throughout. As far as seating goes there are about 5 seating areas, which I think is pretty typical for a spot like this. The menu is way more extensive than any other smoothie bowl spot I've been to. In addition to your acai and pitaya bowls they have green bowls, banana bowls, coconut bowls, and chia pudding bowls. My bowl came with an acai base topped with granola, strawberry, banana, coconut flakes, and honey. The toppings fruits were fresh and crisp, the granola was crunchy, and the perfect amount of honey drizzle was sprinkled throughout. I got to say, I think this is my new go to! The only slight downfall is that parking on palisades ave is hard to come by- but these bowls are worth the struggle. read more

We love this place and go there as a family all the time. This Saturday we were there and the music has been atrocious. I had to bring it up to the staffs attention that their music selection and the lyrics are totally inappropriate for young kids to listen to. I don't get why this playa bowls spot doesn't have a higher rating! I've gotten at least 20 bowls here over the past few years. It's almost always consistently good!!! Very yummy and fresh. I think I've memorized the menu by now... A lot of the workers are high school students from the community and its so great to see them! I actually wanted to work here and am still hoping to next year after my college apps. Whenever school is making me feel done with life, I like to come here. Havent had many acai bowls before but the ones i have had have been a disappointment and definitely not satiated. For the first time, i actually enjoyed an acai bowl and it was from Playa Bowl! The nutella bowl had the perfect balance of sweet and fruity flavors. The portion was a perfect size for me. The fruit was perfectly ripe and fresh. Acai bowls are not very satisfying for me as a lunch or dinner but they make for the perfect healthy breakfast, dessert or large snack.
