The beach is clean, easy to get to from the city centre, and has a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy the sea, sunshine, or simply take a walk along the promenade. We started with drinks and an order of Espetos de Sardinas (Skeward Sardines), that we really enjoyed and had fish for our main course. It was good, but I didn't think it was anything special. The Pistachio Desert on the otherhand was phenomenal. So did the food wow me, NO, but the service, the ambiance of sitting near the beach, while watching the unique way of grilling seafood, made it well worth it and a lot of fun! I would do it again!

This "Chiringuito" (local beach bar with grilled seafood on the menu) is located right on the…read morepopular beach. It is open all year round, and prices are rather low. The most typical dish is "esparto de sardines", a skewer of sardines grilled by open log fire. It is nie here, nice but not excellent. Another typical dish is "gammas al pil pil", shrimps in spicy oil with some chillis, but I have had better "pil pil" than I had here here. You will get a basket of fresh bread with your meal. I disliked to see the owner feeding all the bread leftovers to the pigeons on the beach, and so the birds "leave stains" in the neighborhood of the bar.
