My son got potty trained there within a few weeks, has learned some Mandarin and Spanish, and the extra optional classes that are available like Art Classes, Soccer, Piano lessons, etc provide a wide range of extra curricular learning opportunities. And their flexible hours allow parents with busy work schedules to get there early or plan for late pick ups. His teachers are so caring and provide great feedback on his achievements and areas the need improvement. They take feedback and are willing to work on areas that we would like them to focus on if we see any areas that they can help us with. Our son has made amazing friends, which is a testament of the kind of families that are in our neighborhood and even a few who travel a little further just to come to this specific location. We couldnt be happier with our decision to change schools to this location and to remain another year. As parents who really believe in a well rounded experience including education, art, sports, and more, we certainly get what we want to offer our child.

Both my kids attend here from 1K - PK4 and they absolutely adore their teachers. It's a tight knit small school where practically all the directors/teachers/teacher aids know all the kids in every grade by their names. They have early drop off, late pickup and extracurricular classes in Reading, Piano, Arts, Mandarin, Spanish, and Ballet (for additional cost). They have a big outdoor and indoor playground and the teachers bring them outside for nature walks. Ms Una is the sweetest, most knowledgeable, and organize Director! Shout out to Ms Zohra, Ms M, Ms Alexis, Ms Sosan, Ms GG, and Ms Fiona! They also have early intervention, PT/OT/Speech therapist that works with the school if your child needs the extra attention. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better school. The only thing I wish they have is more pre-k 4 spots available.

A few major concerns: Lack of Physical Activity: The rooftop playground was under repair for the entire school year, and the indoor gym wasn't utilized during extended care. Expecting high-energy kids to sit from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with minimal physical outlet is unreasonable. Lack of Extracurricular Value: Basic enrichment like STEM, cooking, or arts/crafts are an additional cost on top of the tuition, whereas nearby programs and private pre-Ks offer these included. Without these add-ons, the afterschool program offers very little structure, leaving children in the same classroom from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with minimal engagement. Untrained Extended Care Staff: I witnessed inappropriate behavior from aides, including dangling food over my child to make him "beg" and loud yelling as a redirection tactic. When I raised this, administration initially dismissed it as a "language barrier" before retracting that statement. Communication & Supervision: Most of the after-school aides speak Mandarin as their primary language with limited English proficiency. While this works well for Mandarin-speaking families, it made it very difficult as an English-speaking parent to have basic daily conversations about my child's day. Administration even cited a "language barrier" when I raised concerns about aides shouting at students. Between the communication gaps, noticeable greeting biases from certain staff, and multiple transition-related injuries due to poor supervision, daily operations during extended care were very frustrating. The day teachers are great, but for the premium price, the after-school program lacks structure, safety, and proper staff training.

A week later, I received a letter from ACS stating that my son could continue attending, so I brought him back. However, the director, Ms. Pista/Bista, greeted us with a horrible attitude. She started yelling at me and my child, which was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. My son was scared and upset, and I was shocked at the lack of respect and basic decency. This daycare clearly lacks compassion, professionalism, and understanding for families who rely on ACS vouchers. I would never recommend this place to any parent who values their child's well-being and a supportive environment.

As soon as we booked a walk-thru at Mi Escuelita, we knew it was the daycare for us. It felt like the perfect home- a space with a positive vibe, filled with art and happy children. The daycare is also in a brownstone with a beautiful private garden. Although our daughter has only been attending for 3 months (as she turned two late in the year), she has already accelerated development skills such as talking/singing/ counting, sharing, and being attentive to other children. Mya gossips and talks badly about other children's progress or disabilities to other parents against HIPPA laws and confidentiality. She claims to have a kitchen but in reality only has a fridge/microwave/sink. Doesnt follow food menu and serves food you would not want your kids to eat. Milk is promised for lunch but confirmed by multiple staff members it is often SPOILED and snacks are EXPIRED. We caught Mya lying regarding many issues and the one we cant overlook is having an illegitimate UPK class. She lied to parents about having a DOE approved UPK class when DOE confirmed she did not have one. Now parents are stuck mid year with a class mixed with 3 and 4 year olds and a teacher who is not certified. Do NOT be tricked! She will promise things she wont deliver!!
