Another stop on our private tour of Buenos Aires was to the only statue in Argentina that honors María Eva Duarte de Perón.
The site is where her home once stood, nearby the city's National Museum. Opened in 1999, the gated monument features a bronze or copper statue of her in a walking motion affixed atop a crypt fronting a a tall, intricate, flat column with a crumpled flag resting that its base.
It wasn't a popular site it seemed as we were the only ones here for our 15 minute visit. You can't go up to the monument to see details or take selfies without the black iron security fence marring your photos which are probably the reasons why. Plus, she isn't entombed here, instead resting in the family's mausoleum at the Recoleta Cemetery where the hoards of visitors are.
OVERALL:
Definitely a worthwhile visit and you won't have to deal with crowds. read more
