Dr Joan Schieber was referred to me by a friend and when I went she sat me down like I was in therapy which was fine as I want my Dr to know my life but when I told her I was 25 and want 5 kids she told me to come next appointment with a "plan b" as I was "getting up there in age and wasn't in a serious relationship" yet and needed to think about a plan B because of my age and relationship status. I let that go as I had heard great things but once I started getting with my friend who was a nurse she asked me if I knew he was safe to hook with I said "yeah he's a nurse so he knows what to do" her response was extremely judgmental saying that she's never heard of a nursing job that required STD testing...not what I meant at all...I just meant he's a nurse and knew the importance of testing. From there I ended up having skin issues (after further testing with another doc realized it was allergies) and she refused to test me after having me take off work to get a biopsy because she said I was be in "immense pain and not worth it" which is nuts because I finally switched to a specialist at KU and found out it was allergies and cleared it up. Unfortunately I just never felt heard or seen at St Luke's with her and I felt very judged and given up on. read more

Doctor Moore is my GIRL!!! if you are looking for someone who not only cares about your health, has extensive knowledge in her field AND will sit with you, be a real human with feelings and advocates for you, then this is your doctor!! I had my first baby (girl named NOVA) last April and it was anything but smooth sailing . Doctor Moore & Doctor Ketcherside were truly like the dream team with my C section even when I was being a psychopath and nervous Nelly. I could go on and on about this place, doctors and don't even get me started with the Ultrasound techs! Absolutely amazing staff, friendly, quick, efficient, and the first time I've been treated like a human by a provider. Dr.Grimes was the absolute best, most personal, understanding, and truly knowledgeable provider I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She made my experience almost healing from all the traumatic experiences I've had in the past. If you have chronic pain during/before pregnancy she is so lovely about it. Most comfortable,easy, and PAINLESS pap I've ever had. Truly couldn't recommend her more. read more

I called to make an appointment after finding them online through my insurance. I was able to get in on the date I needed. I was a new patient and it took about 15-20 minutes to fill out all the paperwork at the office. I didn't see where you could fill out any of it online. I didn't get called back until about 35 minutes after my appointment time. Then I had to wait a little bit for the doctor to see me. She said they have a backup today, so I am guessing it is normally a lot quicker. The front office staff was friendly and so were the nurses and doctors. They do have a patient portal to see your results. I'll be back here and recommending this practice! read more

Dr. Matile delivered a few of my children and was amazing but has since retired and I've been seeing Dr Perryman for the last 5 years. if I could give them zero stars I would. I reported to them that my ultrasound technician painfully violated me. They did not care and are now taking me to collections over the $200 bill for the literal ultrasound where the violation took place. As far as I know the ultrasound technician is still working there. This is not a safe place for women, at least it wasn't for me. read more

I stick with this group entirely because I really do love my OB there. That said, this office has a lot of opportunity for improvement. My main complaints lie squarely with how they operate as a "business." Their nurse call response process is painful, especially for anyone who has a job during normal business hours and might not be able to sit on top of their phone waiting for a call. You will not get a live person when you call them. And if you don't answer their call when they respond, your SOL for another several hours at best--possibly for that business day. It's a terrible process. I'm also of the mindset that our providers need to have basic technology services integrated into their practice. Every other physician office I use (pediatrician, primary care, husband's primary care) allows us to schedule appointments online or email general questions, images, etc. That would help their front office communication challenge significantly. I'm actually shocked how antiquated their business office is. I also think the quality of clinician you get varies significantly here. I've worked with some of the best doctors and nurses I've ever met, as well as some of the worst. Really want to love this practice, but they make it hard sometimes. read more

I absolutely adore Lee Allison Voi, the nurse midwife that I'm seeing there. My main issue is with the office staff... You don't call without getting put on hold for at least five or ten minutes. This is nerve wracking and gets really old, especially when you're waiting to hear test results or an abnormal Pap smear. I'm just saying, it borders on rude. Maybe they need more receptionists or someone else to handle the call volume but it's to the point where I want to switch offices. read more

Dr. Ferns discovered my endometriosis at a young age and is the reason I was able to have children more than a decade after the discovery. He retired before I had children, so I saw Dr. Matile once pregnant. He was an amazing doctor who I would recommend to anyone. The office staff are very kind and made me feel like family. read more

I do love my Dr she is awesome when I actually get to see her. I do understand she has to deliver babies so some time im forced to see other doctors. I think my main issue is with front desk staff they can be a little snippy and they have on several occasions left me sitting there for getting to check me in and making me late for my appointment. There is one lady im talking about that's seems to be kinda rude and snippy. I just feel for a doctor office they are the face we see 1st and should always be a pleasant one. I have had to see another dr 3 times now and im dont care or this as I prefer a female that knows me best but cant stop babies from coming.. So I give 3 stars for the doctors but this is on the office as a whole and the front desk and scheduling hold time needs work. read more

I love my midwife, and I love coming to this office for prenatal appointments. All the nurses and techs are terribly sweet. The on-call services are quick. This group seems like they really care about your comfort and well-being, and your opinions about your care. You won't feel neglected. Routine checks include a 7-week, 20-week and 36-week ultrasound - fun to get to see baby so much! I feel very safe in their hands. read more

I went to Dr Matile for the delivery of all of my children and he is the greatest. I had some appointments with Dr. Ferns and he is a wonderful doctor as well. My issue is with Dr Vestel. Dr. Vestel performed a surgery on me that left a deformity on my stomach and she took no responsibility. I now need to have her mistake fixed by a plastic surgeon. The reason I chose to perform the surgery the way she recommended is because she said she was trained by a plastic surgeon and could fix the scar from a previous C-Section. Not only did she not fix it, she made it worse. Now she says she warned it may not be better. That's a complete lie! This caused me to leave the practice entirely even though I had wonderful experiences there for 22 years. I can't in good conscience support someone that will not stand behind there work and not tell the truth about it at all. This is on my husbands review page, I don't have one. read more

Dr. Vestal has left the practice to teach, and I was nervous to see someone else. Nervous while walking in, nervous while filling out paperwork, nervous while waiting...and then relieved when I met Dr. Matile. Easy-going, nice, comforting, and efficient. Horray! read more

Today I saw Doctor Perryman and I think that he's a great doctor. I didn't feel rushed. He cared about my medical history (of having my son) and addressed all of my issues. The nurse was also kind. No complaints about the medical staff. However, before seeing the doctor I was in tears because of the front office staff. I agree with a previous review. All doctor's offices should have basic technology. The receptionist told me I would need to arrive 45min-1 hour before my appointment because I needed to fill out paperwork and they needed to enter it before the doctor would see me. When I called back to see if they could just email it to me they said they "don't have email or internet access" I was able to print 1/2 of the forms off online so that gave me somewhat of a head start. When I arrived they asked for my insurance card & ID which is standard but flipped out when I told them I didn't yet have my insurance card (which I had told them on the phone when I scheduled the appointment) I was told by their staff that I could get a temporary card which after calling my husband's company was not true. The insisted that I just reschedule-- but if you've ever successfully got to an appointment not only on time but 45 min early with a 7 month old who was missing his nap-- you are not going to reschedule. The office girls refused to take any responsibility for what the staff had told me. I ended up only being seen because I paid 100% out of pocket. I understand that they have policy that they have to follow and that it just wasn't communicated correctly to me. BUT they way you present that to a paying customer can make all the difference. I feel like if you find a good doctor you will put up with a lot-like rude front office girls. However, I wish they would find some nicer ones! read more

I've seen both Dr. Perryman and Dr. Carter at this practice. This is the best OBGYN in the city in my opinion. The physicians let you ask questions and genuinely care about your input. We had a second trimester loss in the past and were turned away from Saint Luke's East where they told us that "it would pass at home." I called Dr. Carter and she got me in the same day at Saint Luke's on the plaza. I feel like this practice gives you the right amount of care without ordering unnecessary testing. Now we are expecting again and could not be happier with the care we are receiving. Highlights of the practice that I particularly appreciate: you can reach physicians easily by phone. The ultrasound tech is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and goes out of her way to communicate with mom and dad about what they are seeing on the screen. The communication between nurses, physicians and patients is wonderful. I've never left the office without being asked at least three times if I have any questions. I could not recommend this practice more. read more

I have seen Lee Voight for several years and consider her to be exceptional. However, I am profoundly dissatisfied with the quality of communication and patient responses of this practice. They are large - and trying to get through to a real person is a challenge. Was just told by their nurse Gay that they receive 200 voice mails a day on the nurse line, that she does not hear them herself, but that the RECEPTIONISTS listen to the messages, "jot down a few words" and then the message is passed on. This is not an acceptable way to care for patients. There is a wide spectrum between "call 911 for an emergency" vs. "hey - I'm really having a problem and need to speak to someone." When I told the nurse Gay of my frustration (couched in terms of "i'm not feeling good and I just want to get some help," her response was, "Well, I think it's pretty good that we return 200 calls within 24 hours." Then, she essentially dissed me for not being able to answer the call back when she called. I am profoundly disappointed with this practice and will be sharing my complaints to anyone who will listen. Again, I give nothing but the highest marks to Lee Voight for her care and compassion. But - this office needs a major overhaul in how they react and respond to patients. And as far as the nurse Gay who is assigned to the callbacks, she really needs to be moved to another job. read more
