Then we agree to sue 2 people and I get the papers he filed and we only sued one. I even had to call to remind him to start my case!! Then to top that off he even spelled the defendant's name wrong on the court papers!! Well when the defendant went bankrupt on me he recommended that we not contest it and play a wait and see game, this I have in a letter from him. Well I called him two more times to make sure we dropped the case before we were discharged and all I got from him was, "I will call the court and get back to you"-HE NEVER DID. I called the court one day and found out the case was over and I was discharged! I called Parker and he said he never said he would call the court or withdraw the case because it made no difference! Then he said he would give me back part of my retainer and that he doesn't hold money that he did not use. Well I call the next week, twice, after nothing showed up in the mail, and finally got him on the phone and ask, "Where is my money, my bill and the papers from the court?" Parker says, " I don't give refunds and there was a billing error and I should be charging you another 500, and I never said I would give you any money back." I told him every time I talk to him it is a different story and he said, "read your contract, I don't give refunds" and also called my case, "little" Like I said, I don't know if his old age is getting the best of his mind, if my case was too small for him to care about, or if he is a SCAM ARTIST. It is a small sum of money for someone my age but it is the principle!! I was screwed by the guy I sued-he went bankrupt on me, and then Parker tells me I have money coming back because all he did is filed papers, (never saw the inside of the courtroom), and then 5 days later has no recollection of our conversation!! So is he a good lawyer? He talked me into using him. That either makes me stupid or him a good liar! Did I mention that in 6 months he never sent me a bill, he said he was the week after he filed the first papers but did he, NO.
