I am American and live in Seattle, and I stayed in Querétaro for 2 months and did 5 hours of classes per weekday. The teachers all have their bachelor's degree minimum, and you only speak in Spanish at this school while learning. The teachers also generally rotate every week, or you can elect to keep a specific teacher ever day. The classes consist of grammar, conversation, and culture classes where sometimes the teachers take the students to various museums and outside school events. There are also extra events after classes sometimes! I am continuing my classes online at 1 hour per weekday right now, and I am progressing very nicely! The price is also fantastic, especially when compared to American language private tutoring classes. Remember that learning a language is a long process. But the teachers here know what they're doing, and they're all very positive while doing it. I can't recommend this school enough! I made so many friends.

This school, Olé Cultural Center, won out over all of them. We have now studied at Olé over many summers. Their goal is to make this your home away from home. People from all over the world study there. The classes are small; the teaching is excellent; and the owners are collaborative. They strive to make this a perfect experience. Besides language instruction, there are excursions available to the pyramids and San Miguel de Allende among other locations. The home stay moms receive training about safety, cooking and helping their students with homework! They also have online instruction available. AHA is centrally located and offers very good homestays. If you are a beginner I suggest one of the extra classes after the 8:30 to 11:30 class. The private lessons are very good but you need to book them a few weeks before your arrival. The school has an open air atrium that is absolutely beautiful. The teachers were very good and you will meet lifelong friends. I suggest you fly into QRO and arrive a few days before class begins. I am returning in 2025.

We talk for have the time and then go over some reading in Spanish that I am doing. Always her explanations are excellent. She speaks Spanish, English and French, so when I get stuck and I need a more detailed explanation of the past subjunctive (or whatever) in English, she does that. I took three hours of classes in the morning and one hour of private lessons in the afternoon, both with Marta. The classes were small (just 2 or 3 of us). Marta is an excellent teacher and an engaging person. I would describe my classes as both fun and helpful. It was more like having a dialogue with a small group of people or with another person. Then they focus on grammar, pronunciation, etc. They have housing available, but it was not available when I went. I would definitely go back.
