My parents were having problems with their toilet and thought it could have been a septic problem. These idiots showed up and said they would most likely had to change the tank which would cost them like 40k, without even doing any research! A couple days later, before the guy was planned to show up, she called to cancel because she didn't want to dig anything up yet. The secretary said no problem. Then the guy shows up, a day early, and gave my mother a bill for $600 for his time. My mom refused to pay. Now they are bringing my mother to the board for 900 dollars!! To make it worse, the other guy my mom called used a camera to go in the septic tank, which cost like nothing, and found out there was nothing wrong with the tank. These guys are crooks. Really disappointing. I needed a new hot water heater for the basement. He brought his wife along for the ride, then charged me $45/hr x two hours for her help! She knew nothing, couldn't help him with anything. He left a mess in the basement, the new heater wasn't carefully matched to where the old one had been, the old heater dripped dirty brown liquid across my kitchen floor and carpeting in the sunroom... read more

Awful attitude, does not test anything, wants to change the whole system - not just a part. When you ask a question, he says "I'm not here to argue!" We called him a few years ago and he was so unpleasant, did not fix anything and charges an exorbitant price, that we vowed to never call him again. When we had plumbing issues this week, we called Chelsea Plumbing, and guess who showed up?! This guy!! This time he had an awful attitude again, changed one little part, which he did not test in the first place to see if it was indeed broken, and left. $318 and the issue is not resolved. Yes he bought Chelsea Plumbing and I hope he doesn't last. This guy is really unpleasant. Bad Attitude. He install a broken sumpit in my new house basement.... so gess what happen when the spring came... water came from underground into the cbroken pit, into my basement. I had 5 pumps for a week then it slowed down to 3 pumps... We could not see what was going on in there because there was so much water and he told me it was a normal thing in spring and that i needed to arrange the weeping tile that it wasn't his sumpit. When the water slow down a bit I took my underwater camera and saw that the pit was cracked in several places then glued with the yellow glue they use then screwed from the outside... then concrete floor so I would never see the bad job they did.... Still when I told him that he argued with me !!!! That was in march. Today (July 16) 4 months later finaly no more water so he was suppose to come and change the sumpit. Well guess what... he never came ! He had a couple excuses and will come back another time. OH MY GOD I hate this guy !!! I don't even want him in my house without the inspector to watch him. Et même quand je lui ai dit ça il m'a répondu que ses gars auraient jamais fait ça et que je devrais arrêter de blâmer le plombier !!! C'était en mars. I appreciate how people here use the word unpleasant to describe the owner of this business instead of the more applicable and extreme words they could be using. He sent a rookie to fix a sump pump that wasn't working. After charging us 1100$ the problem wasn't fixed and it turned out to be a problem that (to a knowledgeable plumber) wasn't even to do with the pump, it was because our toilet was level with the sump pump and gravity wasn't able to do it's job. We told him we wanted a solution so he said he would come and after being 2 hours late the first night (and ultimately being a no show) he came 3 hours late the second night and told us we need to spend a minimum of 15000$ to tear out our entire bathroom. When he looked at our sump pump he said AND I QUOTE "any idiot plumber can see on first glance that your pump isn't the problem, the proooooblem is that your toilet is level with the pump". SO I ask you Monsieur Robin Cyr WHYYY did you employ and deploy and plumber to my house that doesn't know what every idiot plumber should? Please read this review and never ever hire this man. Came over and did not find or fix the problem, wanted to tear up the property with heavy equipment but did not know what or how to fix, he over charged , left us with a mess, he purposely did not bring tools needed so he could leave and charge more time, left us without a toilet... for any septic work try Septique DD, they are great, fixed it quickly and reasonably priced! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ALVANAR PLUMBING. EVER. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! Putting a one star rating is way too generous. I live in the country and rely on my sum pump to do the job. Our old one was no longer doing the trick so we mistakenly decided to call a local plumber. Alvanar. BIG MISTAKE. Our sum pump hole is about 16 inches deep, and our old pump had an up and down floater. The previous house owner never had water problems in the basement before. This guy from Alvanar decided to sell us a different pump, with a different floater. Well 2 days later, we had over an inch of water all over in the basement. Apparently, the pump never went off when it was supposed to because he sent a kid who didn't know his asshole from a whole in the ground to put it in. We called the owner of the company, his answer was; your hole isn't deep enough, you'll have to dig a deeper one. We didn't, the previous house owner told us that was ridiculous and the plumber is an idiot. We bought a shop vac, cleaned it all up. The next day, we had even more water in the basement. This time, the water wasn't coming from the pump hole, but leaking through the walls it seemed! We had to pay another plumber to come have a look, put a scope in the weeping tile to see if it was obstructed, which it wasn't, so that wasn't the problem. The problem was that since the pump he had installed was the wrong one, it wasn't starting often enough, leaving the weeping tile always full of water. Always. What happens when your weeping tile is always full of water, it seeps through the footing! We called him to fix it, he wanted to charge us which was ridiculous. He said it was our fault for waiting that long. If he had been an experienced plumber, he would have put the right model pump for the size hole we have. Being a paying customer and having water in the basement subsequently after dealing with a plumber who then tells you that it's YOUR fault, is UNACCEPTABLE. We are still dealing with water problems to this day. He has finally agreed to come change the pump to a more adequate one for our sum pump hole, WE ARE STILL WAITING. We have to constantly call, chase him down, he doesn't give a rats ass. Well, let's see if he cares after I post this review and warn everybody out there experiencing similar problems, DO NOT CALL ALVANAR PLUMBING!!! This guy is a moron! read more
