Still, this place made the trip worthwhile and I enjoyed a nice hot chocolate (and complimentary Halloween-themed shortbread cookie!). The barista was pleasant and answered our questions about the environs. We only checked out the bookstore section briefly though it did have an excellent selection, and even had a typewriter set up for aspiring typists to play around with. As a typewriter owner, it's always cool to see opportunities for the next generation to get a chance to work with these machines (if only so they can appreciate how much easier word processors are when it comes to editing!) I would gladly come back here again, and hopefully take more time to check out the books as well. The general fiction leans heavily towards the Christian fiction and related genres, but there was some contemporary fiction like Saramago and DFW (I almost bought a copy of "Infinite Jest," but really, when am I going to have time to reread that?). Their sci-fi and fantasy collection wasn't too bad either. Prices were pretty good (the aforementioned DFW was listed at $7, and sci-fi paperbacks between $2-4). The proprietor let us know that everything is catalogued, so you could inquire about a particular title if you were looking for something specific. It looks like they also buy used books, which is good to know. They do play religious music in the store, but they also have Bible verses posted in the window, so I suppose that's fair warning.

I had bought roughly $150 worth of Pokémon cards and the guy that runs the TCG section of the store was so positive and helpfu! We talked for a good 30 minutes about Pokémon and the value of cards and what sets to get. Just an overwhelmingly positive experience and store to be in and go to!
