We had a very nice Sunday Roast with some friends here yesterday.
It seems very popular, so it'd probably be best to book in advance!
The restaurant area is a purpose-built extension: comfortable, light & high-ceilinged, with plenty of space for ample tables and waiters to move around.
The beer is from a local, relatively recently founded brewery, and I can highly recommend the Pot of Gold.
There was plenty on the menu - lamb, beef (or a combination of the two) & chicken roasts, and a couple of veggie options too, which were enjoyed by my friends. There was a good choice of starters and puds as well - though two courses were enough for us. The food is cooked on site, from fresh, local produce - always a big plus in our estimation.
The staff were all friendly, and observant enough to know when to come to help and when to give us space. The meal was well-paced to allow us time to chat.
The bill was very reasonable too. This is not the first time our friends have been here - we'll definitely go back, when we're in the area again. read more
