Absolute scam rip off company - DO NOT USE. I called them to report a leak coming from my bathroom in a top floor flat. The leak was a slow trickle going into the flat below so needed to be fixed before it became a major issue. I explained the situation to their office staff and asked if they would need access to the flat below. The resolutely said they would not require access to the flat below. The plumber turned up, took one look at bathroom and said he couldn't do anything without access to the flat below and promptly left, having spent literally under two minutes on site. I call again to explain the situation and they offer to send the plumber around again. This time I coordinate access to the flat below. The plumber comes around, takes one look at the flat below and promptly says the issue is leaky sealant around the bath. Clearly proving the plumber did not require access to the flat below. The plumber then left stating he didn't have the equipment to complete the job (so a plumber rocks up without bathroom sealant). A third call to this clown show and the plumber finally comes around with sealant and doesn't ask for access to the flat below and finally replaces the faulty sealant. Total charge £492 for a 30 minute job and a tube of sealant that costs around £10. DO NOT TOUCH THESE SCAMMERS. read more

Typical rip-off company, citing a lower than average call out charge but packing on ludicrous add-ons that were unnecessary. Called them for a plumber to unblock a toilet. I specifically asked, and was specifically told, that the plumber would call me in advance of turning up to the site. He did not, so when I arrived, he already had his 'machine' out, so they could bump up the charges, when in fact, having had a similar problem two months ago, I knew no machine was required. This was a simple job, that required either a half decent plunger, or feeding thru a short pipe length to unblock the paper blockage. I know how this works, and of course we will never use this firm again, nor recommend it. The 'transparent pricing' claim is irrelevant, the operation is like a scam. Cost £167 for 30 minutes work, with maybe 3 minutes using his 'machine'. Our regular plumber (currently away) charged £50+vat, for exactly the same task, and spent longer doing a more professional job by lifting up the outside drains to check all clear. Sent a plumber called Pavel for a call out fee of 75 pus VAT, plus £30 for every extra half hour. took credit card details in advance. Pavel quoted 2 hours plus parts for changing a valve on a cistern - Around £300. When I questioned it - he offered to walk away and just have me pay the call out charge of £100. It was clearly a straightforward job. But he appeared to drag it out as long as he could and at least over the hour mark. Still could only drag it to 1 hour 15 minutes. Then tried to charge me 2 hours. Luckily the office confirmed I should only pay for an hour and a half. Pavel started complaining loudly and told me to my face that he should have dragged out the work longer. The main office seem to be honest and straightforward - but they clearly need to improve the screening of the plumbers they use. Pavel seems to be competent as a plumber but unprofessional in engaging with customers. When he initially came to the house only my wife was there. I was so worried about the tone of his language and his overall conduct I rushed home to deal with him directly. read more

Overcharged me, took 4 visits over 4 days to do an incomplete job that should have only taken 2 visits. Then refused to accept any responsibility for the faulty work. I had to chase every response until I finally reached the CEO, Adrian Cronin, and he only made a feeble offer to refund the amount they had already overcharged me if I promised not to leave online reviews. They also secretly recoded a telephone call illegally (apparently not having learned from the whole Leveson enquiry events) and accused me of blackmail - for explaining that if they wouldn't complete the work satisfactorily and to the cost agreed with them, that I would have to warn other customers from using their services. Avoid this company! Terrible and crazily over-priced. I contacted them to replace a valve in a toilet. A plumber came out, didn't fix it, and charged £108 to tell me what I had told them; the valve needed replacing. They quoted me £340+vat to do the work. When I asked what the £340 was for (e.g. parts / labour breakdown) they couldn't tell me. When I asked why I was being charged £108 to be told something I had told them, they couldn't tell me. I put a complaint in writing. I then had a couple of calls with their head office who wanted to 'go through the facts'. He tried to spin a very different story, got caught in a lie, tried to spin again and failed. Eventually said he'd give me a refund if I could give him a copy of an invoice to prove I had called someone else in to do the job. Incidentally the company I did hire (Westminster Heating and Plumbing - excellent) charged less than a third of what Plumb London quoted. The amount of time this has taken for me to sort out is utterly ridiculous. read more

Avoid like the plague. I know when someone try's to rip me off and can't do the job. These guys are scam artist & dodgy. Don't appear to have more than one plumber on their books. Not sure if they are even qualified. Essentially they look at your boiler - rip out a working part and claim it need 100's pounds repair, essentially more that the boilers worth, and try to hold you ransom. Best try vaillant-london.co.uk who's charges are very reasonable and they know what they are talking about. read more
