I felt like you couldn't go wrong with the classics. We sat outside but they gave us an option to sit inside or outside. The patio is dog friendly. They won't seat you until your whole party arrives. My friends and I went to Plums for brunch last Sunday 7/13/25. Plums is my second favorite brunch spot in Costa Mesa. On my way to pick up my friend I made a reservation through opentable. At the moment it was nearing noon and the earliest opening was 1pm which I confirmed. When we got there my friend checked us in. Even though it was 12:15 pm and our reservations were for 1pm they managed to have us seated in ten minutes. Once seated we were warmly greeted by our server Frank. Who proceeded to assist us in our brunch cocktail choices. I decided on the Fire Opal Margarita and my friends got the Farmstead Bellini flavors Loganberry and Raspberry. When Frank came back to take our orders I brought it to his attention that I noticed that the menu had some new items. Last time I was here was late last year. Frank acknowledge there were some changes and went through them all and made suggestions. My friend Mike settled on the Oregon Trail, Bang chose the Rustic French Dip and I got the Hot Honey Chicken and Waffle. While enjoying our cocktails I noticed the new signs posting a 90 min table limit. Never seen it during previous visits and find it odd. The places which have such time restrictions that I know of were ayce or buffet joints. Unless there are bottomless mimosas involved i'm in and out quick. I'm respectful and courteous to fellow dinners waiting to eat. Anyway the food came out promptly and Frank and the rest of the wait staff made sure we were enjoying our time. My waffle was hot, fluffy, overall delicious. The chicken lollipops were crisp and thoroughly cooked. And the side of hot honey enhanced the flavor of chicken and waffle. Unfortunately Bang didn't enjoy his Rustic French Dip. The meat was under seasoned and the au jus was watery. Mike enjoyed his meal which consisted of 2 butter milk pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 bacon. Absolutely unacceptable and honestly frightening customer service. I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant and was out celebrating my friend's birthday when I went to take a bite of her breakfast sandwich and felt a large PEICE OF GLASS inside my mouth. This wasn't something minor like a hair it was actual glass, and the thought of what could have happened is terrifying. When I asked to speak with the manager, his response felt completely dismissive. He repeatedly said "yeah, that's not cool" and only removed that one item from the bill. No real concern, no sense of urgency, and no acknowledgment of how serious and dangerous this was. I was so shaken that I couldn't bring myself to eat the rest of my meal out of fear, yet still charged me for the remainder. As a pregnant customer, this experience was incredibly upsetting and left me feeling unsafe and unheard. Found this spot on tiktok, and oh my gosh!! We loved every bit of it, i had the sweet potato hash and it was perfect! The greens were fresh, the food was also brought in a timely manner, my friend got an omelette and it was amazing too!! We sat in the outside area and it was such a good vibe. The table next to us were celebrating a birthday so it definitely is a cute spot if you like a lowkey dressup brunch spot! I first sampled their food a pumpkin soup and scones at a private Yelp Elite event i enjoyed the samples so I wanted to dine at their restaurant. We made reservation for four for Mother's Day brunch and so glad we did because it was crowded with people waiting around. This place gets popular and I can see why with good service and excellent food. This place ranks among my top favorite for brunch. Two of us got seated promptly even though we were waiting for two others to arrive. Dungeness crab omelette is so good filled with fresh chunks of crab from Santa Monica Seafood Co. Dutch baby with berries is their famous specialty is also delectable big enough to share. I walked into this place with high expectations, thanks to all the reviews, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. Honestly, it felt like any other typical brunch spot, nothing really stood out. My family and I usually order our own savory dish, and then we share a sweet dish, but we couldn't decide so we got the cinnamon roll and the Dutch baby and holy wow, amazing! The cinnamon roll is massive, but taste and texture is not comprised. It's soft and doughy and every bite has ample cinnamon. The Dutch baby is perfection. Light, slightly dense, not to sweet, and the berries make it. I ordered the smoked salmon hash with sweet potatoes. Incredible. The smoked salmon isn't your typical thin sliced, this is thick and hearty and delicious! I loved the flavor of the dill hollandaise sauce. I also got a biscuit, which again was perfect, flaky, dense, loved it. Two eggs with sausage and hash-browns, basic breakfast, but high quality and yummy. I had heard good things from friends as well, so I did have some slightly high expectations lol. Luckily, the food and drinks were delicious and the staff was very friendly! Plum's consistently prepares fresh and tasty food. I recently utilized them to cater a Bridal Shower. The food was a big hit, especially the stuffed chicken. Tried this new place for us. Since I'm always on the hunt for good pancakes, here we are. Nice venue, great staff, but the pancakes were bad. They were kind of dense and dry. Don't like whipped butter, and for the price the real stuff would of been nice. I did like the peppered bacon. The pancakes were almost $20.00. Pancakes were a 4/10. This was our number #1 place for breakfast until we found out that they use lard and tallow ( what they make candles out of) on all their potatoes. With our cholesterol numbers, we cannot ingest lard or tallow. We will miss our Sunday brunches. read more

1 Star Sat down at 9:50 AM, ordered around 9:55, and waited an entire hour while other tables came in after us, got their food, and left. Turns out our server forgot to enter our order and later blamed the kitchen. The manager confirmed the order wasn't entered until 10:49 AM. On top of that, my iced matcha came out 30 minutes later as a hot matcha. When I asked management to make it right, they refused any discount because we eventually ate the food.
