Flower is dry, half ass trimmed and has an extremely funky taste- almost chemically. The staff was barely helpful & did not seem educated at all on good weed strains, flavors or any effects of the specific strains. The establishment itself appears quite trashy from when I'd go 5 years ago. You enter & receive your product in the LOBBY where they check your ID (small area) , there is no longer a back room to view all of your selections or tiers. My first trip to Plus was the night before Portland was hit with that gnarly ice storm on January 16th, 2024. I'd come across a Reddit for best places to buy flower in Portland, someone was enthusiastically recommending Plus as they'd just picked up a 1/2 oz of Blueberry Muffins for 20.00 and were extremely happy with their purchase, I was in disbelief so I jumped in the ride in hopes of beating the streets freezing up. Upon arriving, I was suprised to see that this place was set up quite a bit differently than any other dispensary I've been to - there's a hallway/lobby that serves as the waiting area for a window that the Budtenders vend from, several HD monitors display the offerings. The Budtender was quick and I was out the door with my 20.00 1/2 of Blue Dream (a strain I rarely see for sale, and when I do it's generaly pricy) and a few 5.00 1/8's (Runts and another that I forget). Now, for a 20.00 1/2 oz my expectations weren't very high, it was clear that the BD was in a bit of an unmanicured state so my hopes sank a bit but man, that was some very tasty and very nice herb! I've been back several times since, the Budtenders have always been friendly/helpful and I really love the "grab and go" counter service approach. I've yet to utilize their 10% online discount (need to order above the 40-50.00 oz tier to get it) but I know I will down the road. I've yet to buy above the 50.00 oz tier, I like trying many things and man, for a 5.00 1/8 I can't complain if it's not my cup of tea and I just pass it on to my other smoking buddies. I'd say 85% of the budget purchases I've made more than exceeded my hopes, I recently picked up a 1/2 of "The Sneeze" for 25.00 that is my favorite so far, hands down so I am definitely asking for top tier flower recommendations the next time I go in! In summary, check this place out if you love supporting a small non chain business with chill Budtenders and very sweet deals. Has a great selection, has my FAVORITE infused helavated joints that hit just right every time. I work nearby and came in because I was feeling lazy and was so pleasantly surprised. Super cheap prices and a big variety of joints. They deal with a lot of tweakers and people being rude as hell for no reason so I give them all of the props for continuing to be kind to people when people can be so unpredictable. Always have had really great conversations with staff and got my most favorite bowl piece when they started selling glass, which is also insanely cheap. They have a window where you buy weed and a menu up which makes things 10x faster, never been in there more than 5-10 minutes. I actually really love PLUS dispensary in terms of weed and pricing but you get what you pay for in terms of customer service. Sometimes they are decently pleasant and most the time they are rude, rush you, and have little to no enthusiasm aka RBF's. One girl(manager so she said) got mad because "she couldn't hear me" even though she was rude from the moment I walked up to the window but never told me she couldn't hear btw and when I asked if it would be more helpful if I should speak up she rolled her eyes got offended and pointed to a sign that says hard to hear speak up.. atp I'm confused as to why she is being so rude and I think it's pretty clear because she follows with MUCH more animosity.. i said I'll just leave and that I genuinely hoped her day would get better and I was real it was not sarcasm I meant it.. and she said I don't care and walked off. I went back to ask when shift change was because I still wanted to buy from them today and was pretty much ignored as she just talked in the back about whatever was upsetting her at that moment but never let me know.. I called to complain where she answered and told me she was the manager and I'd be complaining to her about herself and that she "didn't have time for this" I tried to let her know that I only wanted to know when was a good time to go back at this point because that was a bad experience for me personally and she hung up on me! this is the last time I let them make me feel worse leaving then going in! and not even close to the first time! I wish I could continue to go but principal wise, I can't keep leaving feeling like they treat people like they aren't working a customer service job or like they don't care to actually and respectfully do the job they signed up for! There are team members I absolutely love but as of late and for someone who goes as often as I do I've had nothing but bad experiences!
