I used to live in Dartington and have watched this local organic farm develop over the last 15 years. I remember when the organic veg boxes were first made available, and how we all dreaded receiving the fabled Jerusalem artichoke in our weekly delivery... (they taste great but promote flatulence like there's no tomorrow!) Since then they have spread their area of influence to cover most of the UK and including part of Wales. Cardiff is served by the Devon Farm, but Riverford have actually teamed up with four other farms to ensure that they are able to cover such a broad area. These days they also provide fruit as well as veg, and can deliver meat if desired.

It also has a fairly large petrol station, which is is kept seperate from the store. The store itself has all the usual facilities - delicatessen, bakery, fish counter, large fruit and vegetable section etc. An opening aisle of non-food products too, cookware, clothes, entertainment and items targeted at tourists, like wetsuits and buckets and spades! This store, because of the fact that its really the only sizeable store in the area and also of the booming tourist trade around Wadebridge, mean that at some points it is painfully busy, particularly during the changeable Cornish weather.
