Our mortgage broker was not attentive and we didn't get information about our loan unless we contacted her. Her loan processor, Michael was incompetent and made careless mistakes (using my social security number on a request for my business tax returns instead of my tax ID number), asking us for information that was provided months ago; which ultimately resulted in delays in the process. Every time I attempted to voice my concerns to our mortgage broker, Kim, she was condescending and combative. Our closing was today at 3pm and we didn't get closing disclosures until 1:30. We had no idea until 1 1/2 hours before closing, exactly how much we needed to close. We ran around scrambling all day. Had Academy stayed on top of our loan and efficiently communicated with us, the process would've gone a lot smoother. We finally closed today, after being given 4 different closing dates. Honestly, we were more ecstatic about not having to deal with Academy Mortgage anymore than the closing of our new home. I am a real estate agent and based upon the way I was handled, would never refer any of my potential buyers to them. The only reason I selected 1 star is because it doesn't allow 0!

I had all my documentation prepared and sent in immediately. When they requested something I logged into my email-PDF'd the documenst emailed right over... and still 48 days later the loan is at the USDA's office because their internal underwriter took extra time, then the USDA has to take time, then it has to come back to them after final approval and take more time back with their underwriter.. things they don't tell you when they first contact you and brag about how they can close in 30 days ... I tried to buy a house on short sale 3 years ago and it was TERRIBLE.. this is plain and simple mortgage.. and they assured me...when they know someone has had a bad experience they like to go above and prove how easy it really is.. BS.. the branch manager I deal with in Minnesota hasn't returned the Realtor's phone calls, my emails or phone calls-I've been talking with his processor in FLORIDA!!! I've been told for 3 weeks now I'm closing this Friday, then next Friday, then next Friday!!! What a joke... I'm ready to pull out all together to go my federal savings & loan LOCAL bank and start all over... not to mention filing some complaints with BBB and whoever else it is possible to do so.. once again a lender fails to stand by what they say and do!
