Very cool if you are departing…read moreand have time to kill, need to grab a bite to eat, or need to pick up a few items for your trip. We don't speak polish, and we found it easy to navigate the mall and the train station. If you are in a jam, there seem to be an abundance of people who speak English. The station and the mall, were relatively clean, well lit, and seemed safe. The train we took was "Intercity" and it was clean, comfortable, fast, and got us to Warsaw, which is where we wanted to go :-) Trains are the way to go in Europe, and Poland is no exception. If we are in this area again, we will definitely consider taking a train in and out of this station.

Horrible experience with Poland's railway system booking. Apparently it's not possible to book an…read moreinternational train ticket online (tried numerous times before arriving in Poland, then again after arrival, as did the hotel--for 5 days in a row--nothing!) We got messages that the ticket could be booked in person. So, I had to make a special trip to the station and wait in line for 25 minutes, to be met with a ticket agent who: 1) didn't have much information; 2) barely spoke English; and 3) was behind a thick glass partition without a microphone, making it exceedingly difficult to understand her limited language capabilities, especially with the loud ambient noise, and 4) let's just say didn't have much dedication for helping. Despite having arrived to buy a ticket a full 6 hours before my intended overnight train's departure time, I was told that they couldn't book a reservation on the sleeper train, because it had to be done 2 hours prior to the trains departure (from Warsaw), and the agent wasn't able even to search they system for availability! I saw nothing in writing about the 2 hour rule, even (to my knowledge) in Polish. The only other option was to take my chances when the overnight train arrived--and ask the conductor (who only accepted CASH (!?) for a sleeper reservation. It wasn't even possible to buy a seat reservation on the train to be traded it in for a sleeper if available, as I would lose what I had paid for my seat reservation. Unbelievable and hard to believe for a country that considers itself a modern functioning economy. I'm a world traveler, have been to Europe, traveled by rail between countries numerous times. First time EVER to have encountered these sadly inefficient issues, resulting in inexplicable and easily avoidable customer inconveniences. Apparently a Polish thing. And it seems they aren't interested in anyone that doesn't speak Polish using their railway system. NOTE: A heads up for anyone that wants to take an international train from Poland to another country.

Knowing this was my 300th review, I really had to make sure that the place was Worthy. This is a…read moretourist agency in Krakow Poland. The people that work there are extremely nice, very personable, and really make things fun. We were interested in possibly booking a tour of Auschwitz and also the salt mines. The young lady and the gentleman who helped us, Paula and Paulo, were both very honest with us and told us that we would be okay on our own with the Auschwitz tour, but we're better suited to take a group tour for the salt mines. So, we booked a tour to the salt mines. The company provided transportation to and from the salt mines, which was easily located in the main part of the city. Once on the bus which was very comfortable, we made our way to the Salt lines. Everything was organized very well, we all got stickers, and it was very little unnecessary waiting period the guide was even smart enough to let people know when they should probably try to go to the restroom, because there would be a while before we had access to another one. Everything was well-organized, the people were super friendly, the prices were very reasonable, and the tour itself was good. I would absolutely use these folks again if I had to book a tour while in Krakow Poland, and I recommend you do the same!
