Things change, and I now count Pointe Alarm as something that has changed for the better. I got a new laptop a few months ago and tried to access our security cameras from it with no luck. So, in my wisdom I decided to get in to the DVR settings and mess around with those. Oops. After I was done nothing worked and all of my attempts to fix it only made things worse. Even though I knew this situation was now beyond me I was reluctant to call because of the above review. I am probably not Pointe Alarms favorite customer. Although in the last few months I did give them some referral business that I could always bring up in case of emergency. I should mention that the person I referred is EXTREMELY happy with everything that Pointe Alarm has done for them. Anyway, I called for help. All of my calls and messages were given the full attention of the person taken them and I didn't wait more than an hour for an e-mail or call to be returned. Today Warren came out to fix my system. After a few tries he got hings working to where they were before I started messing with them and then he attempted to tackle my laptop situation. He was here for a good amount of time but it turned out that the problem couldn't have been easier. It turns out that the system doesn't work with the internet browser I was using. Who knew? I want to thank Tim and Warren for taking the time to help me out. I try to be fair with my reviews and although my description of my first and second experiences with Pointe Alarm are accurate I think they have made some positive changes and I would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to friends or family. read more

Recently my mother has been deteriorating mentally from onset Dementia/Alzheimer's. Her memory really was getting bad. Teetering on needing professional care and not. The constant daily worry for her safety and well-being was draining and exhausting. The system proposed by Pointe Alarm allowed me to monitor her doors and rooms with sensors to make sure she didn't leave the house in the middle of the night or during the day without me be alerted. A couple well place wireless cameras allowed me to peak in now and then to check on her. The whole package was tied into an app on my iPhone. It was easy to use and modify as needed. What a joke! I had been wanting to use these people, dispute all the negative things I have heard over the past few years. I'm am I firm believer in spending my money locally. So after dealing with these "silver tongued" unprofessional clowns. I will be glad to spend more if need be and use another company. I'll follow up with the company we decide to use. Great local company who provides superior customer service. Staff is always friendly and ready and willing to assist no matter what time of the day or night. Staff is knowledgeable of the product and services they sell and will do all they can to assist over the phone before scheduling a service call. Getting Pointe Alarm to set up my security system was the best thing I've done this winter. That might sound a little funny, but as a senior who lives alone and travels a fair amount, I have peace of mind knowing my home is protected. Always get terrific service from these guys--if our alarm box is beeping, for example, they can always talk me through making it stop (it's not exactly self-evident). And the very few times the alarm has actually been triggered (front door blew open while I was at work) their phone folks were great. read more
