Living at pointe luxe was not a bad experience. The amenity like the pool and gym are nice and well maintained. The maintenance staff is the best part of this place, they will response to your problems same day. My issue with pointe luxe is the management. 1st year living here and they tried to raise our rent 150 dollars. For what this place is offering we found it to be too much of an increase and decided to leave. Then came the inspection where they noted things were in order aside from a carpet cleaning, okay. Then the charges when we left were completely different. 300 dollars for a "full paint", 200 dollars for a "full clean" when we cleaned the apartment prior to leaving, and most egregious was 1100 dollars for a "counter replacement"! We lived there for a year and took good care of the place. They will find anything to get all of your security deposit and make you pay extra. Buyer beware read more

The grounds are meticulously maintained and gorgeous between the lit up palms and pool and landscaping to the huge gas crystal fireplace and all fact that pool is heated and stays open all year round is a huge bonus! It's like living at a resort! My apartment is completely updated and any little thing that needed fixed was handled immediately! Some of my favorite features are my own washer/dryer in unit!!!!! I have been living at Point Luxe for almost a year now and have had a great experience with the maintenance staff, and property managers. The building was clean upon arriving and is a nice modern look in the interior. Jud has been the most understanding and helpful property manager and has been very nice about letting my partner visit and park inside the complex gates. Also, the "guest parking" policy here is ridiculous. You can only get guest passes during the times that the leasing office is open. If you do not happen to be available during the times that the leasing office is open, you will NEVER be able to utilize the guest parking or obtain a guest pass. In addition, they will not give the four allotted guest pass/month to the resident. You have to come in to the leasing office every time you need this pass. I asked them what happens if I need a guest pass at night, the answer was "you have to schedule to get the guest pass accordingly." In short, you have to know ahead of time when your guests are coming at all times. FYI--two bedroom apartments only get one parking space in this complex. You have to be in a three bedroom apartment to be entitled to two parking space. Everything here works like the 1900s, except paying for rent. No portal to obtain guest passes and no parcel lockers, so your packages get stolen when couriers leave them at the hallways! read more

I've lived here for 13 months now, and I have had a terrible experience. The hallways always have cobwebs and spiders, there's no consistent/reliable after hours security, the leasing agents are unwelcoming and the parking gate is ALWAYS broken, so homeless people wander around inside the parking lot sometimes, and our resident codes never work! This past year, we were woken up more than 3 times by faulty fire alarms that went on and on for more than a couple hours in the middle of the night. We were initially intrigued and ultimately sold on the amenities. The leasing agents said the recreational lounge area is open to all residents to hang out, relax, check emails (free wifi), use the kitchen, and table games. I had used the room a couple times before, to check emails when my internet was down. But when I attempted to walk in when the older female leasing agent was working, I was greeted with a condescending "can I help you" and a scolding look. The leasing agent then proceeded to state that this is "more of an office for the leasing agents, and not open to the tenants" when I asked for clarity on the policy/ resident hours of use (since I had used the room before) she said there is no policy, but I couldn't be there because of COVID. Her answer was panicked and elaborate. Very rude. Additionally, I received an email THIS MORNING (4/6/23) about resident parking requiring a valid pass, and my new rental was towed!!! No time to even ask for a permit! The vehicle was dropped off yesterday afternoon (4/5/23)!! Awful management and communication. This place does not live up to expectations and is certainly not worth what you pay. DO NOT rent from this property. These are only some of the reasons you should not live here: 1. They are deceitful with hidden fees. On top of the overpayment for basic rent, they do not reveal that they charge monthly for things like trash, water bill back (yes, you pay a separate water bill, as well), sewer bill back, utility administration fees, pest control fees, etc. 2. They purchase low quality products and appliances that malfunction often. One of the handy men told me directly that they purchase cheap hardware and appliances. He also said that they often cut corners and hide botched repair work. 3. The walls are ridiculously thin. You can hear literally any noise that happens on the other side of every wall: my kitchen, bedroom, and living room. You can hear almost every conversation, song, tv show, or movie that your neighbor is listening to. All the bodily noises, all the sex, you hear everything - it's like you're living with them. 4. The website looks nothing like the real property. When you show up, only to be disappointed by the difference, the tour will make it seem as if you could be willing to compromise, but it's all a facade. 5. A few months after you move in, you notice all the things they tried to hide: all the appliances malfunctioning, things falling apart, blemishes/damages/necessary touch ups. 6. There is no guest parking. No visitors can park on the premises. They have a tow truck company that comes nightly to tow any non-registered vehicles. The company does not, however, need to be contacted by residents or property management - they have total reign to tow upon their own discretion. They have often made mistakes, towing vehicles they should not. 7. They leave Amazon packages in the hallways because they do not have package-mailboxes. People constantly complain about stolen deliveries. I have had 3 taken from my front door; eventually you have to accept the fact that you're paying to live in a place where you can't get packages delivered. 8. They do not maintain the buildings. A cleaning crew comes once every 2-3 weeks. People sweep their apartments into the hallways for it to sit there for weeks. I have seen cockroaches, and it is safe to assume it is because of this lack of cleaning. 9. The gates to enter/exit the property malfunction often. This happens at least a couple times a week. With how heavy traffic is on the two cross streets, this becomes an annoying inconvenience. This was all just off the top of my head. There are definitely many more reasons you should not pay to live here. This place is not worth your time, money, or attention. Do yourself a favor and start looking for a different apartment. read more

My wife and I moved in in July 2020 and during that time Pointe Luxe Apartment Had just wrapped up the renovations of their apartments and all the amenities including the swimming pool. Let me tell you something it's the perfect location and living there feels like living on a vacation, We enjoyed all the huge swimming pool & Spa. We also want to extend our thanks to all the staff including Andy, Brooke, Jose, Danielle & Judd and all the staff they all made living there friendly. Best kept secret in Point Loma and it's only 20 minuts walk to Ocean Beach!! Highly recommended read more

I've been living in a 1 bedroom apartment since February of this year and while it looked great when we first toured, we realized on our move in day what living here would actually be like. My fiancé noticed a piece of our kitchen floor was peeling off, so it was taped off with clear tape to not seem noticeable. The air conditioner was filthy. So we had dog hair and dust all over the apartment when we first turned it on. The cabinets in the kitchen were sticky and clearly not cleaned before we moved in. There were collections of dog hair all throughout the apartment so we had to deep clean before we actually got to unpack. The smoke detectors also have never worked. They turned on multiple times throughout the first few days and all we did was turn on the oven, so we had to take them down. Having lived here for a few months, it hasn't gotten any better. The maintenance team is always very friendly and helpful, but the front desk is not as responsive, unless you just moved in the first month to make a good impression. When the gate clickers and key fobs were distributed, my fiancé and I went twice to the leasing office before we were able to actually receive them and the third time we went in, we were told our stuff was not ready and they didn't have either forms we had turned in that same week. Also, we were not instructed on how to have guests come in using the key pad, just handed the keys and went on about their day. They also don't mention that you only get 1 parking pass, so while the parking lot is empty on the entire backside, people still have to struggle to find parking on the street which is impossible 99% of the time, or just have to risk getting towed by parking at Baron's Market. The apartment hallways are always musty and they smell like cigarettes at all time of the day. On a positive note, the pool is very nice and so are the restrooms outside so that's great, but this place seems more focused on the exterior of this place and could care less about the actual internal problems with this complex. One final thing, if you do decide to move in and have hopes of decorating your patio in a comfortable way for you, it probably won't be allowed. We received a notice that we cannot have any plants on our ledge, lights, decorations,etc. and basically can only have patio furniture. read more

The price does not equal the quality of the apartment. Safety is an important factor for me and I do not feel safe living in this complex. Today, our neighbor's motorcycle was stolen and we realized our motorcycle was missing too. Thankfully our motorcycle is pretty heavy so they couldn't go too far with it, but our neighbor's is gone. This is why I decided to write a review of the complex. We've told the management, but they just don't care. The complex used to be called Stonewood Gardens. They tried to rebrand without making any vital changes. Pros: Renovated rooms and new appliances. Washer/dryer in every apartment. Close to stores. Maintenance crew are friendly and always does the best they can. Cons:  Security is lacking: I have sent emails to management about the lack of security in the complex and never heard back. After a month, I decided to call them and Maddie (onsite property manager said she thought her supervisor, Kaitlin, would reach out). I have yet to hear from Kaitlin. There is a constant flow of non-residents roaming through the complex and rummaging through the recycling and trash. We have caught people smoking in the mail room. I have had multiple packages stolen and have been followed into the complex. I have seen the night security look through people's windows and at random take pictures of the cars in the parking lot (from the rear, not looking for parking stickers). We had our bicycle stolen from our patio. The thief left with the bicycle, but dropped his heroin needle pouch. Management knows all of these security issues and has let me know they are not in a position to increase nightly security and even with the gates up, it does not curb the crime. Dog poop: It is the responsibility of the dog owner to pick up dog poop, but we have gone weeks without poop bag refills in the stations. Never receive emails: Even though management has my correct email on file, I never receive any of the updates. I never received an update email about the gym opening and closing, news on the gates, news on events, etc. I let Maddie know and I honestly don't think she knows how to correct it, but I can't be the only resident not getting updates. Cheap construction: Once you move in, you will quickly notice how cheap everything is. The paint easily came off when using command strips and the walls get marked (indents) super easily. The living room flooring has some cushion underneath so our chairs easily indented the flooring. Since there is cushion, the floor is uneven. The counter tops are very flat, so any water will spread to the rest of the counter space. read more

This apartment complex is not worth the money. If you're unfamiliar with the area, I recommend doing a drive by before committing to this complex. There are multiple strip clubs surrounding the area, A LOT of foot traffic, and A LOT of homeless people on the streets. I had someone knock on my window one night at 2am. Scared the S*** out of me. The trash dumpsters smell awful, makes the whole hallway of the floor smell. My apartment smelt like smoke. The AC unit had a bad oder and I felt like my unit had a permanent film in the air. My room had no ceiling fan and no light. I will say the leasing office staff were nice and the maintenance team was very prompt with requests. BUT overall, I do not recommend this complex. TERRIBLE area and it is not with the $$$$$$. read more

management are glorified time-share salesman- I was able to lock in 2 bedroom apartment for a decent enough price at the time but the same unit would now rent for 3k and at 2300 I don't even feel I'm getting my moneys worth the good parts - pool and hot tub and walking distance to some key spots and a close drive via nearby freeways - on site maintenance are friendly and helpful the bad: poor to zero communication from management about almost everything, including but not limited to - I chose this aparmtent over another complex because I was lead to believe it was fine to let my cats outside, while touring the premises I was not told that that wasn't allowed the lady simply said "well, I have cats but I keep them inside - if you read the 6-7 page lease thoroughly it states that all animals must be leashed at all times and that there Is a strict protocol for anything you would put up on you patio- I was in for a rude a wakening a couple of weeks after moving in that if I were to put anything on my patio as an enclosure/catio it would have to A- not be attached to the structure in any way and B you would have to be able to see through it. regardless many people let their cats out and at least one guy walks his pitfall on the premises unleashed in some sort of show about how well behaved his elderly looking dog is parking and parking permits - I am renting a 2 bedroom and only have access to one parking spot - despite there always being a surplus of open parking spots and being more than willing to pay for a second car parking spot I have been told over and over that there is a waitlist due to a shortage of parking permits - parking spots are not assigned but if your permit is not on display properly your car will be towed. Permits are stickers - upon moving in I was in the process of selling/trading in my car and it was a lengthy process so I took my permit sticker to fed ex an laminated it knowing that would be easier than removing it and attempting to reattach it to a different car at some point in the near future. at some point I lost the laminated permit and the process of getting a replacement took 4 different phone calls and were beyond unnneccessariy difficult for no apparent reason other than incompetent property management - they continued to claim the reason for the "shortage" of extra parking passes was because they first needed to remodel/ resurface the parking lot which they did 4 months ago and still there remains a surplus of places to park your car in excess of 75 spots but no actually authority - so if you rent a 2 bedroom and have roommates only one person gets to park there or you will have to do what I did and laminate your parking pass and switch off every other night and hope you don't lose the actuall pass and remember to display said parking pass exactly where it needs to be per the lease or they will tow your car- which happened to me the day before thanksgiving - security - the building is a gated complex and you need a fob to open both of the gates to get in and a separate fob to enter the actual building so there is a semblance of security in that and they have a security guard patrolling the complex however I have had multiple packages stolen off my front door step, either by another resident or a friend of a resident or possibly a random passerby since the building key fob security entrance didn't work for over a month when I first moved in. Also one of the drive in security gates was broken for over 3 weeks and stuck permanently open for anyone and everyone to enter and as a result someone took a life hammer to my passenger side car window in an attempted break in - they were unsuccessful because of the tempered glass nonetheless I was out 452 dollars and management couldn't even pretend to actually care when I informed them - I also found multiple homeless/vagrants going through the trash and informed management who actively urged me to deal with the issue despite having on site security, I have also seen multiple tweeters passing by on bikes during this time period openly casing the place - I have found multiple roaches in my apartment and have a weird phobia about cock roaches since the first cock roach I ever encountered was the terminator of all cock roaches and simply would not die - luckily for my I have two cats and they are great little exterminators and took care of the problem in summary I gave this place to star instead of one star because it has a couple of good things going for it and there are likely worse places to move to however my experience here has been unsatisfactory to say the least and in sine regards negligent - up until a few years ago this property was called the broadstone and it was a shithole - they did a surface remodel right before the pandemic and added some amenities but there was a change of ownership and management. Hey everyone this is my first time that I am writing a review but I just have to because I am disgusted and shocked by the brutal attitude of point luxe apartments homes, I did a 5 months lease in apartment 203, I really feel bad for whoever is going to live in that apartment, that apartment (and almost all the 3 room apartments) is right on a cross section of 2 main streets(midway and point loma blvd), almost every hour in the day there are sirens in both of those streets especially in the middle of the night!the walls are so thin in that complex that the sirens is a small problem compared to all the noise you hear from your neighbors (literally like there's no wall in between). I had so many problems during my lease that I kept on bothering the office day and night and all they told me is "write it in our website ", so that's what I did and of course no one took care of it until the end of my lease. There are always homeless people walking through the complex ( even though they finally installed a gate), they just climb the fence and one time one of them stole my bike from my balcony even though I was on the second floor(one of my neighbors saw him!!). Before we signed the lease Madeline was super kind to us but literally from the moment we signed it, every time we came to the office she just wanted to get rid of us,after a couple of times I was embarrassed to go to the office because of the looks and attitude I would get. The biggest disappointment for me was when we got back our deposit, they sent it to us for a couple of hundreds less and when we asked why they told us mainly for cleaning our apartment after we left, although we got it in bad shape and left it in better shape than what we got it (I admit that we didn't leave the apartment totally clean). so finally after those 5 months finished I can say that the only good thing about this complex is the location inside of San Diego but definitely the worst complex I lived in and probably the worst complex I've been to ( due to my job I see at least 2 complexes a day).
