Unfortunately, wanted to try a new poke place with my bf and was quickly disappointed. I noticed a smell from my bowl unsure of what it could be, but upon tasting my proteins (spicy tuna & spicy salmon) I was unhappy. They both had an odd fishy taste almost as if they weren't fresh. I also tasted my bf's crab meat and his although somewhat better was off putting. He was not impressed by his food either. Idk if it was bc they were closing within the next hour or we just didn't get a good batch but we most likely won't be returning. Also portions sizes were small for the price. read more

Stopped by for lunch on a Friday afternoon. One of my pet peeves for poke places is when their BYO bowl doesn't come with unlimited toppings as that's how I feel like I get my money's worth. As such, instead of trying to decide between toppings, I opted for the preset Ohana bowl. It was pretty good for being a preset bowl with a good mix of fish and veggies and the spicy mayo gave it a little kick. I also got the royal milk tea; I didn't specify to add boba but it came with boba anyway. If I were to order it again, I'd ask for less sugar but it's still drinkable. Honestly a decent spot for a poke fix in Sugar Land; I just wish I could build the bowl of my dreams with unlimited toppings. read more

I saw great pics of this place on Facebook and had been meaning to give it a try. The owner said it used to be called JuiceTime, but no one knew it also served Poke. The owner was really sweet and walked us through the menu. There are pre-made suggested poke bowls in 3 sizes, as well as a "make your own" option which was great for my friend who is allergic to shellfish. I had a poke bowl with sushi rice, and it was delicious; the ingredients were tasty and fresh. The only thing I did not enjoy-- the boba. OMG. I am a boba aficionado and the boba balls were hard, not chewy, and old, perhaps. They tasted like those canned boba drinks you can get at 99 ranch. The slushy itself wasnt bad, but I regret getting it with boba, because anytime I was able to get one up the straw (the balls were too big for the straw!), I would have to spit it out because it ruined the whole experience. So based on that, I had to give this place 3-stars; and you can tell by all my reviews, I'm pretty generous with stars! The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Very quiet, almost dead for a Saturday afternoon, but if you're looking for a quiet place where you won't be bothered, this is it. I had a light night craving for Taro Boba. I'm tying to find the best in the Missouri City/Sugarland area. The restaurant seemed to be closed for dining-in so only stop by if you're wanting to do take-out. Even if you could sit down and eat, I'd advise against it because it was pretty hot inside. The taro milk tea was pretty good. There was a bit of a powdery texture initially and there was way too much ice for my liking but I'd come back again. Next time I'd just ask for light ice because I felt like I finished the tea within a few minutes after receiving it. read more

I am so sad. I come here all the time. Every-time I have come I emphasize I want more protein, and every-time I leave sad and disappointed because they are sooooo stingy. Poke isn't cheap. So not getting your correct order is annoying and frustrating when you're spending 14-15$ on a bowl. I just received my ohana bowl with barely any salmon. We asked for double salmon and they didn't do that, instead gave us a bunch of spicy tuna that does not taste fresh at all. I probably will not be returning. read more

I've been in a few times and there's never anyone else in here! I stopped in today to pick up some lunch and completely empty! Since this is the only poké place I know of in the Sugar Land area, I really want this place to stay in business. I did a build your own poké bowl today and they had these convenient slips to fill out and customize your order. When I was iffy about getting a sauce, the girl working today offered me a sample so I could try it beforehand. Another girl made my bowl and made sure I was ok with the amount of sauce, and I was out of there and on my way in about 5 minutes total. The portions of each ingredient weren't too generous and I could've eaten more but didn't need to. I got a regular (two scoops) and I counted about 13 little cubes of tuna. Only three pieces of pineapple unfortunately. Overall, still satisfied and I'll be back the next time I want poké in Sugar Land. I just wish they sold those Hawaiian Sun pog juices! read more

Came here specifically for the poke bowl and used the check-in offer for a discount. The place seemed slow on a weekday early afternoon. There are more than a handful of tables inside and an ordering counter alongside the poke bar. I chose three proteins: shrimp, tuna, + salmon.i added avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, green onions, cucumbers, sesame seeds, poke sauce, + spicy mayo. The raw fish didn't seem very fresh and the color slightly off. The shrimp were decent sized but sort of mushy. The rest of the bowl was fine but the bed of rice was very warm. I didn't like that the rice was straight out of the rice cooker. The cold proteins and toppings versus the warm rice made the bowl strange to eat. For about $13, I wasn't too thrilled. Not sure if I'd return for poke because it's not legit. read more

I visited this place when I first moved to the area and found it to be underwhelming. Fast-forward a few years later and I decided I was craving poke. As my doctor's visit was just around the corner it seemed like a good time to try it again. My original observation still holds. The poke was okay but the amount of fish over my rice seemed pretty skimpy. Additionally I agree with what a few other reviewers have noted, it is very smokey inside and I would not want to be a dine-in eater. (It was not smokey during my first visit years ago). I did notice a Buddhist Altar with incense sticks in the corner so the culprit may not actually be smoking. However it was super pervasive and even my throat did not enjoy the few minutes I spent waiting to pick-up my order. The quality of the food is decent, albeit skimpy on the fish. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to try this place a third time. read more

Their house sauce is also very good, sweet & spicy. I also really enjoyed the small family owned vibe of the restaurant, they were very kind and helpful. The only reason this place lost one star was due to their minimal protein portions, I got crab meat, and salmon and can only recall maybe about 6 small pieces of fish. We came here for lunch on a Thursday to get some poke. We ordered the Ohana and Hawaiian signature bowls in large. The regular bowl (2 scoops of fish) is $8.99 and large bowl (3 scoops) is $10.99. Bowls are different sizes - the large is much deeper. I do think that the amount of fish you get is not very much. I counted 16 pieces of fish in my large, so like 5 pieces of fish per scoop. For the price, I would expect a bit more or a cheaper price. However, the fish is good and fresh and the poke sauce was spot on. I ordered my eel sauce on the side and didn't really use it. The rest of the ingredients in my Hawaiian bowl (seaweed salad, edamame, cucumber and carrots) were also very delicious and went well together! I just wish I had more wish to go with it all! Also we tried the J12 grapefruit, apple, and something else juice. It was so good and refreshing! It is expensive though, but juice usually is. read more

I got all three signature poke bowl, and I like number 1 & Hawaii the most. The young guy with glasses was just playing on his phone and I watched as the rest of the staff was falling behind. It was good for the price but as far as convenience and making the process enjoyable, there are plenty of other places and people I think I would waste my time with. If you have time to kill and are not looking to "grab" a bite or have your meal within 15min then this is the place. The quality is there but the service is the draw back.
