Almost EVERYTHING here is either gluten-free, or they have a gluten-free version. Even their ponzu sauce. This is what sold me to try it out. But oh my GOSH this place is AMAZING. I keep bringing people with me to try it and they keep leaving as brand new fans. The options are excellent, but not overwhelming. Everything is fresh and packed with flavor. They are extremely accommodating about gluten-free and proud of their quality. But it doesn't even matter if you care about gluten-free stuff, they're just an amazing poke restaurant. This used to be my go to poke place, but the past three times everything has been pretty crappy. It's like they barely put any rice and the rice they do put is really crunchy and undercooked. The protein portions are also a lot smaller and they've messed up on two of my pick up orders so this time I sent someone to pick it up for me. Food quality is still not like it used to, the portions are smaller and the person who got my order said the lady was really rude to him. We will just have to find some place else. read more

I gave it two stars because the service was great and the food actually tasted good, but the quantity was so small for the price. They are putting 2 to 3 ounces of fish on a bed of rice or greens and charging full meal prices for it.I spent $14 and left hungry. Ive been to poke austin many times but my last visit really turned me off to them. I went in and there was a line. a man who appeared to be either the owner or manager wearing an orange shirt took my order. he started to prepare my order when his cell phone rang. he answered it and started a conversation with the person on the other end. He never said another word to me and just walked away carring on his conversation. A couple minutes later another employee came by to fill my order but since he didnt know what it was he had to start over. I'm always perplexed as to how I spend so much money on the most basic bowl. My kiddo never gets all the toppings, sauces (literally rice, edamame and shrimp on a skinny) and it's still over 20$ including a drink. Upside is they offer 3 proteins with the regular sized bowl, but sometimes quantity impacts quality. My tuna, salmon and scallop were all mediocre in taste. Tuna was too hard and scallop just tasted off somehow. They do have the most protein in town to make anyone happy, with interesting ones like spam and octopus, but beyond that the other toppings are typical of most Poke spots in the city. I do like their deals such as free Mochi ice cream on Mondays and two-for-one beer on Thursdays, but food is just eh. Indoor and outdoor seating and a few TVs make it an interesting spot to kill some time, but if you want great poke, I'd say make a drive somewhere else. read more

I'm so sad to say that Poke Austin has gone steeply downhill from their first few months. I'd always had great, fresh meals there, but this last venture last week was so discouraging, I couldn't even write about it until today. I'd placed an order online for pickup- the same thing I always get which is tuna, marinated tuna, on brown rice with a variety of pickled vegetables. But instead of fresh, bright seafood and accompaniments, the dish was full of aging, almost turned, and actually not full portions at all- of tuna that was dry and turning, marinated tuna that was also turning, and teensy portions of sides that were either dry or nearly non-existent. Poke Austin, you've lost my admiration and business, which is sad for everyone involved. Sorry, I can't recommend you dine here any more. read more

The food was amazing. I got a large which was probably a bit too much food. All the fish was super tasty. I loved the extra toppings and all the ingredients made for an amazing salad. We'll definitely be back. We paid for drinks but after doing so found out there was no tea or coke. Definitely recommended! read more

I have recently been going in and have been greeted and served by Dalton, he is always more than knowledgeable about suggestions and much more! A Mixed Bag. Let me say first thing, their food is very good. It is healthy and tasty. I have eaten there 3 times and it has been delicious each time. The reason for the 2 stars is that they have a very broken system to get the food to you. I have one hour for lunch, it took me 10 minutes to get to Poke, I waited in line 30 minutes for my meal and had to eat it quickly and leave. They had a online order come in and they made all of us in line wait while they prepared this order. They have got to come up with a better way to do things. Several people got out of line and left. The employees are not friendly, nor did they apologize for the wait. Their food is not inexpensive, so that is another reason that they need to come up with a better process. If I eat there again, I will online order and pick it up and sit there to eat it. Shouldn't have to do that! read more

I was worried before coming here that this wouldn't be my style of poke. You know, myriad of toppings, weird sauces. Luckily, it all works. There are an abundance of options to choose from including proteins, salads, crunchy stuff, etc. The key for me is not to go overboard; it's tempting because everything looks so good and most of it is free! I've found that when I keep it more simple and balanced, it all tastes great. I even got the sauce on the side because too much sauce can kill a poke bowl. My friends were happy with theirs though, so next time I'll prob have them mix it in. Dinner for 3 people, all mediums (3 small scoops of protein), was about $40. We wanted healthy last night so I scoured the Yelp web and found Poke (pronounced pokeee). When I saw seafood I immediately started to salivate at the thought of what might be. We arrived at about 7 pm on Tuesday and there was no one in the place! They have 3 pre-made bowls, I assume is the chefs choosing ,so if you'd rather not rack your mental selecting each ingredient you have that option. Wherever your imagination takes you, your final concoction will be healthy rest assured. Proteins include salmon, red snapper, and tuna among others. Brown rice, MULTIPLE veggies and a basket full of sauces allow for one's own unique touch. Finish it off with your favorite seasononings. The cluster of tv's add to its sex appeal and the moderate prices will have you begging for more. Parking is plentiful. read more

This was my first time having a bad experience Not sure if it was during peak hour (dinner), I find it extremely unproductive when employees are stationed specifically to serve parts of a poke bowl. There are employees relying on one employee to create the basis for the bowl, so they stand and wait for bowls to come their way. They were receiving online orders and prioritizing these orders first. I waited over 35 minutes for my order, beginning to end. Compared to Ola Poke and Poke Bowl, this place leaves a lot to be desired. Primarily in portion sizes. The medium here includes significantly less rice and spring mix (I did half and half) than elsewhere, and the amount of fish per scoop is significantly less. My husband was also disappointed in the amount of food in his large bowl. Someone else mentioned a bad experience with the scallops a while back, and I think they were right because I actually scooped them out of my bowl when the first two tasted rotten so I didn't get sick. I don't mind the $1 extra for avocado, but I do not like that crabmeat is considered a protein and not a free add in. It is everywhere else I've been. I also don't like that there's no actual marinated ahi a la original poke. Also, there is definitely a smell of cleaner in here trying to mask fish or something. I want to love this place, since it's basically the only poke restaurant south of 71, so I really hope they make some improvements. read more

I am still on a search for good poke in Austin. Based on reviews I was hopeful but ultimately let down. The ingredients didn't seem fresh, the tuna was chewy and inedible, and the ratio of rice to fish was like 8:1. I am also used to the crab scoop being free vs counting as one of the proteins (standard at many poke restaurants). Lastly, the person prepping our meal had her mask only half covering her face (nose completely exposed), which isn't very appealing as she's scooping and mixing everything going into the bowl. I've tried manyyy poke places and this is unfortunately the worst. They have a wide selection of proteins + toppings but its flavorless. I ordered chicken teriyaki and they literally gave me 3 pieces of cubed chicken smaller than their pineapple topping. I honestly thought they had forgotten my protein at first. Great location in the middle of a shopping area. Super friendly staff and a large protein selection for you to choose from. I personally liked the option to add unagi to my poke bowl. This is my first visit to Poke Austin, but it surely will not be my last. I came in looking for a serene place to study while I enjoyed my lunch, and found exactly that. Just walking in I had two words come to my mind, clean and pristine! There is a comfortable and relaxing vibe, but everything is so neat and orderly, which helped me to focus on my studies instead of being distracted by my surroundings. I opted for the build your own bowl, and I was in luck with today being Crabby Tuesday! I was offered either regular or spicy crab salad, free of charge with my other two proteins! Awesome bang for my buck! I went through the line with ease (there are steps on the menu board) and everyone seemed polite and friendly. The man in line in front of me seemed a bit hesitant about some of the menu items, and I overheard the staff quickly come to his aid to explain what things meant (like furikake, for example) without him even needing to ask. They're very patient and know their stuff!! When I got to the end of the line, I was offered a drink or mocho ice cream-and I chose a glass of Riesling. Great with the raw fish!! The fish tasted fresh and the spices were a perfect combo! I didn't even realize that I hadn't ordered any masago, and I asked the girl behind the counter for some. She informed me that it was still frozen, but when it was softened, she would bring me some. Super nice of her to come to my table with a little cup of it for me to add in! Everything is very fresh. It's kind of like a salad bar but you can start with salad greens, white or brown rice, or quinoa. Then you start adding goodies to it: proteins, crunchiest, dressings, all sorts of good stuff but all with a Japanese tilt. I loved it and would definitely come back to try again!! read more
