This location is pretty central to the downtown area of Oak Park by the Harlem train stop. There is a pretty decent sized menu for tea options with a variety of base tea flavors and add-in's. They do have no-sugar/unsweet options which is a plus! The drinks have tabs to open/close so when you take them to go, you can flip it closed so it does not drip or spill on your hands or in your car. Are you an Tuna fan? Wow! Poke Burrito has a dish for you! Use chop sticks or grab a fork for this place. Their spicy Tuna was fantastic! Nestled on a bed of white rice, greens, cucumber and edamame you cannot go wrong with this one! The spicy tuna had a ginger sauce that was creamy, rich and just the right punch. The service was crazy fast and very friendly. The inside shop is very small but, they have nice seating on the sidewalk. One thing I LOVE about the Oak Park area! You can often sit outside in the summer. This was a trial (1/2 portion) of the regular sized dish. Part of Thursday Night Out I'm Oak Park. A great summer event held each Thursday from June to August (2023) from 5-9pm. Tickets can be purchased on Marion Street for the event on Thursday's. I highly recommend this event! After having a sushi burrito I am forever changed! I came across Poké Burrito while out in Oak Park visiting family. I was looking for something that healthier than the option my family had chosen for lunch. Poké Burrito is located right across the street from the movie theater so it is hard to miss. I would recommend ordering ahead of time because due to COVID they are not allowing people in the restaurant and have setup up a service window style pickup model. They require you to order through the various food delivery services or from their website because they are not doing ad hoc ordering. I was at the hangry stage of hunger so waiting those extra 10-15 mins felt like a lifetime so don't be like me. Lucky for me the employee at the restaurant was able to get my food made sooner than the estimated 30 min wait time I was given when placing my order. Ordering ahead of time will also help you reduce your wait time because they seemed to be extremely busy. From the short time I waited they had at least 10 people come and go for food. Due to my hunger I accidentally ordered the sushi burrito instead of the poke bowl. That mistake was the best thing to happen because I never understood the concept of a sushi burrito. Of course it was delicious! It is just a massive sushi roll but you get to brag about how you are eating a sushi bowl. I easily got two meals out of it like most burritos I eat. The ingredients tasted fresh and the burrito was hot as messy as I expected. I would highly recommend visiting Sushi Burrito especially if you are looking to change things up. read more

This place is awesome and the food travels really well for take out! For example, the ramen broth is separated from all of the other ingredients to prevent sogginess. Here's what I tried: Shrimp Tempura Roll - pretty classic and tasty! Tonkotsu Ramen - Really comforting and delicious! It's definitely got a kick to it (which I'm normally too much of a baby to handle) but I appreciated that the spiciness didn't overwhelm the dish - it was still very flavorful! Jimmy's Creation Bowl - this is the best poke bowl I've ever had! There are sooo many different fresh, delicious ingredients that come together beautifully to create a super well rounded dish! Icing on the cake - for a limited time, you get a gift card to a local book store when you order one sushi roll and one ramen. FUTOMAKI FUSION Combining fresh Asian ingredients in a convenient Latin format, you get the best of both worlds. I first heard about this fun 'crossover' restaurant in Oak Park during a Thursday Night Out event. Poke Burrito has only had their doors open since June 2018 but they've attracted plenty of business with their quirky, Sushi House-meets-Chipotle vibes. For some, the big draw are their poke bowls ($7 for a small, $10 for a medium) that can be built yourself with a wide variety of toppings. Personally, I'm more of a handheld sandwich type of guy, so I opt for the burrito ($13) that's bound together by nori instead of a tortilla. Jimmy's Creation features salmon, cucumber, edamame, pineapple, sesame seeds, mandarin oranges, ginger and special sauce. The 'Hawaiian' comes with tuna, avocado, seaweed salad, green onions and a honey wasabi drizzle. They've also got veggie-only options. The restaurant is brightly lit and has complimentary cucumber water for customers. Employees have been pretty cool even when understaffed, and food generally comes out fairly quickly. Prices are fair, considering the portion size and quality of contents. Oh, and their rolled ice cream treats ($6.25) are fantastic. The cookies 'n cream flavor is all well and good, but the pina colada (pineapple + shredded coconut) was outstanding. At more than six bucks, it's a bit on the steep end though still worth trying once. * TL;DR * Sometimes fusion places are a roll of the dice, fortunately Poke Burrito got it right. Their sushi bowls are a fan favorite and every wrap I've gotten here has been absolutely terrific. Be prepared for a deliciously messy affair if you order the latter. Highly recommended by me and Nichole C; this is quickly becoming one of our go-to businesses in Oak Park. Big stamp of approval from yours truly! read more

First time trying poke bowl and first time trying this place. I don't know what I was expecting. I got this as take out/delivery. Ordering online was easy and came super fast given how close this restaurant is to where I was. There menu has creations you can choose from or you can make your own bowl. The topping choices was extensive, so many options. I'm a big eel fan, wish that was a protein option, but I got the salmon, tuna, and imitation crab. I got the spicy tuna and thought it was tuna chunk marinated in a spicy sauce, but it's was like a puréed, which I was a bit disappointed about. I got the volcano sauce. The amount of sauce was appropriate, not overpowering. Presentation was beautiful. Wish I added on a drink to complete this meal. All in all I enjoyed it a lot and recommend. read more

It is now one of our "regularly spots and the portions and flavors are great. AC issue has been resolved. PRIOR REVIEW: 3 stars, Incredibly slow service, but I imagine it's because the chefs are taking the time to make each bowl beautiful - the ingredients are not simply placed into the bowl, but they are really organized quite beautifully. The taste is amazing, but like the other reviewers here, they kind of skimp out on the amount of actual fish they give you. This is the most expensive poke place I've been to in all of Chicagoland, so for the price you would expect more fish. Also - big concern - TURN ON THE AIR CONDITIONING IN THE STORE!! It is beyond uncomfortable (and feels unsanitary) to be sitting and eating raw fish in an 85 degree, hot & humid, crowded restaurant. read more

I walked in right after a very long shift at work on a Sunday night (9/26/21) and let me tell you.... it was a HOT mess. It was obviously extremely busy for them so I was patient... extremely patient because I just came from my shift at CVS so I definitely know how it feels to be on the other side. Now, I could've easily walked out and ordered food elsewhere but I was tired and hungry so I settled. After waiting almost 40 minutes, though, I started to regret it. While waiting and observing, it was clear that there was no structure in place nor were they prepared for a rush like this. I'm not sure if he was the owner or a manager but an older Asian man started to take charge up front but IMO he wasn't helping make things better. You can hear the frustration in his voice by the way he was talking to his team members and cursing under his breath. Not a good look to customers honestly. He even started turning away walk-ins because they were that backed up. Instead, I personally thought he should've turned off the online orders a long time ago. I ordered the large and was expecting the old large, not the small that they now call large they could have kept the same sizes and just upped the prices instead of making people (me) believe that the only size they have that's "large" is not large it's the old small. I was able to pick some of it out but not all of it. Other than the ginger, the rest of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The bowl was also a generous amount that could easily be eaten over several meals. The salmon burrito was my favorite food item. It was stuffed to the brim with ingredients and it all tasted fresh and flavorful. My only issue was that the ingredients inside were not evenly distributed so eat bite was very different, some with only rice and others exploding with flavors. The miso soup was very underwhelming. Place was poppin when I came so I took my burrito home to eat since there was nowhere to sit. I got a house creation (the Hawaiian or something like that) and when I opened it, my first thought was, "Where's the tuna?" You can peep my photo but for $14 that's kind of ridiculous that you get skimped on the main component. Flavors were right on but I hardly tasted the tuna. If they put less of the other filling and more of the tuna, it'd actually be perfect and I could justify that as worth $14. The bowls look like they might be of better value and the rolled ice cream looks delicious so I'll probably be back but I hope they're a little more generous with the fish next time. read more
