I came here for dinner before getting on the Amtrak. It was thankfully not too busy so I could place my order in-person. The bowls are great. I definitely recommend the normal size than the small. I recommend getting spicy salmon. There is not a bathroom here.

Needed a quick bite before I went to the movies. Always thrilled with the variety, quality, and convenience of pokeworks!

Pokeworks is an amazing poke restaurant chain that offers a lot of fresh, tasty, and flavorful ingredients. One of the best fast food grab and go type of service! Ambiance was nicely presented with a lot of natural lighting, matching the current modern aesthetic. Highly recommend when you need a quick seafood meal!

Located on 34th St alongside the AMC theater and it has a modern yet simple decor. Pokeworks is constantly filled with customers and delivery personnels. The staff are friendly and efficient, especially the manager. Although sometimes they can miss putting sauces in the order, but they will make it up to you if that happens. I always go for their Poke Your Way 2 proteins option, it's the perfect amount of food for me. Love their salmons and topping options, you can really load it up.

Pokeworks is a fast-casual poke restaurant chain that follows a build-your-own model. Your could either order one of their signature bowls, salads, or poke burritos, or customize your own. This location is in my regular lunch rotation when I'm in the mood for something healthy and clean that's not a salad. The service is quick and the fish is quite fresh, with an abundance of mix-ins and toppings and a choice of tasty homemade sauces. Chicken and tofu are also available in addition to tuna, salmon, shrimp, and lobster surimi. I usually get a custom poke bowl with 2 proteins (spicy salmon & ahi tuna) + brown rice, loaded up with veggies and flavorful toppings, and the portions are filling and satisfying. Unless you can tolerate a high level of spice, don't go adding both the Serrano peppers and the red Thai chili...oof! I'm always leveling up the kick and don't do "American spicy" but maaan that is gut-burning fire lol! Love that they take their peppers seriously. I've also tried a boba drink which wasn't for me - the flavor is weak and tastes like a blended powder drink, not a boba tea. They also sell spam musubi, which I'm curious to try.

Picked up a customizable bowl a few weeks ago. Ordered: double portion of Ahi tuna poke w/ brown rice + cucumber + edamame + serrano peppers + shredded nori + sriracha aioli + seaweed salad + green onion + chili crisp + spicy furikake + 2 orders of miso soup. Reallly good miso soup -- wasn't expecting that! Amazing poke bowl as well. Pleeeenty of proteins and toppings to choose from. LOVED my poke bowl. Ahi tuna was meaty and tasted fresh, as did all of the produce. It was easily 2 meals; the other half hit the next day for lunch.

This was very good but cost around $20 for the create your own bowl with 2 proteins. Everything was very fresh!!! I was also pretty full, there are so many different toppings to pick from. I usually get salmon for my protein and the spicy sauce. I ordered for pickup. Staff was very friendly and the place was pretty clean/spacious as well.

Chain restaurant but delicious for some good poke. They have pre-set bowls that are really good. Had the tuna one with various toppings and my friend got the salmon. Good combination of flavors and good size. Really enjoyed. -Chain Restaurant -No one was there - Quick Service - Able to choose bowl but did a standard - Good amount of food (filling): can get a double order - Clean establishment - Overall nice quick service - Good flavoring, lots of options - around $20ish

I'm always a fan of pokeworks! It's a great reliable chain that always delivers solid poke bowls. I got delivery for lunch today through Seamless. It came way faster than expected, which is always a plus! I did a build your own bowl with a brown rice base and spicy tuna/spicy salmon for the proteins. I love all the different topping options! The flavors were great and the regular size always fills me up and keeps me feeling satisfied throughout the day. My only complaint is that I think there could have been more sriracha aioli and some of the pieces of fish were too large. I prefer bite sized pieces in a poke bowl. Other than that it was really great! I definitely recommend adding the avocado. It adds great creaminess to the bowl and is worth the upcharge

My friend and I came here to give this place a try because we came out to New York for the auto show. Staff: The staff member looked and sounded very friendly and was very polite. #4 Yuzu Ponzu Salmon: This was a little disappointing because the lady gave my friend about 5-6 pieces of salmon and the kale noodles was not a good portion neither. Poke Your Way: I got a salad base with salmon and the tuna. The tuna tasted a bit odd to me and she did not give me a lot of salmon neither. The wontons had a crunch to it, the pineapples barely had any taste. The edamame and seaweed salad were on point. Overall: The price is extremely high for two poke bowls and two sodas. I do not know how we ended up paying $40-$50 for this meal that did not even fill us up and was not given a good portion to get our money's worth.

I found the space clean, thoughtfully designed, and with a cozy cafe feel that made it worth lingering in rather than just stopping through. I ordered the combo set, which comes with miso soup, two onigiri, and a set of sides that included tamago. The karaage onigiri is the move here. The filling was satisfying and the flavors were well balanced in a way that made it easy to see why it keeps coming up as a favorite. Individual onigiri are priced in the four to six dollar range, which makes ordering a few to try different fillings a low risk decision. The miso soup that came with the combo was comforting and rounded out the meal without feeling like an afterthought. The unagi onigiri in the combo was where I would pump the brakes. It was good, though I felt it was a little heavier on the rice. The mentaiko and mayo is another strong option if you want something with a bit more richness, and the tuna yuzu is worth keeping in mind for a lighter, brighter pick. Kinoko with five types of Japanese mushroom and scallion is a solid choice if you want something on the vegetarian side that does not feel like a compromise. The cafe fills up and popular fillings sell out, so arriving earlier gives you the best shot at getting your first choice across the board.

It is a small Hawaiian place that serves fresh food. The owner is friendly. The portion size of the food is a lot, so you will definitely not get hungry. Below are a few items that I had tried: Sushi Taco - I typically get ahi tuna or salmon (both are always fresh) mixed with spicy mayo. Hawaiian BBQ Plate - you have the option to do 1 to 3 proteins with 2 sides. The proteins that I typically pick are chicken katsu, bulgogi beef, or grilled shrimp. The sides that I typically pick are seaweed salad, charred broccoli, and crabmeat salad. Poke Bowl - you can't go wrong with picking ahi tuna or salmon (assuming you have no issues eating raw food) as your protein. Gyoza - it is fried and crispy, and I would recommend this over the pork dumplings. Pork Dumplings - it is so-so. The skin on the dumplings is too thick. Spam Musubi - it's just spam meat & seaweed wrapped over rice. Nothing too special. Overall, give this place a try if you're ever around this area!

Unfortunately, this scallion pancake was kind of soggy. I ate it at a countertop at the front of the store, so it wasn't like I was carrying it in a takeout box and it got soggy over time. Regarding my order, the goma shoyu tuna, the fish was good, but not great and for my bowl at least, I felt it was lacking in flavor. I did not taste any chili oil and the only real flavor present in the dish came from the seaweed salad. Chikarashi does not allow you to make your own poke bowl, which I feel is unfortunate. ((4.5 stars)) L&L…read moreHawaiian Barbecue serves up a variety of Hawaiian comfort foods from plates of barbecued meat + rice + macaroni salad to saimin (noodle dishes) to musubis and burgers & sandwiches. picked up dinner here back in July. meant to review sooner, but LIFE. ordered BBQ Chicken plate-- thin slices of chicken in bbq sauce. the chicken is a mix of sweet and savory. thin grilled slices of meatiness. the rice is essential bc it soaks up the bbq sauce and grilled chicken flavors. the Hawaiian style macaroni salad brings the tasty carbs of tanginess & creaminess with a touch of sweetness. the way the plate mixes flavors into satisfying umami-ness. the helping is generous and i split the platter into two meals because there was so much of everything. SPAM Musubi--served warm. grilled spam + rice, wrapped in crispy seaweed. this was fine. all the flavors are there. however i would stick with the bigger bites on the menu or another side order of macaroni salad. the interior is well-maintain, clean, and casual sit-down interior. there's a decent amount of tables if you want to dine in. the staff is friendly and accommodating. my to-go order was neatly wrapped up and bagged. if you are looking for a different kind of comfort food, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue has got a lot of options for you. it's also nice to have a place to grab some enjoyable Hawaiian calories without a 10-hour plane flight! though, i'd still rather be in Maui or the Big Island--when are we getting that teleportation thing going?? Ha

I couldn't wait to get my hands on some L&L but I was pretty letdown. Maybe I made the wrong move…read moreby ordering some non Hawaiian stuff from there. Lumpia - 2/5. Im giving it just 1 star for the crispiness but it's not authentic lumpia by any means. It tasted more like those bootlegged spring rolls from Chinese American takeout restaurants. Each roll was also very skinny/lacked filling. Saimin w chicken katsu - 2/5. To be fair I've never had Hawaiian style ramen before so I don't know if saimin is supposed to taste like this. But if I had to choose between a bowl of ramen from a Japanese restaurant or this saimin, you can't pay me to choose the latter. It was like a whitewashed version of ramen, in which the broth had a vegetable flavor and not rich at all. The toppings were Naruto slices and bits of veggies. The katsu was ok but not memorable. Loco moco plate - 3/5 my husband loves loco moco so I had to get it for him. I was surprised it came with two eggs (you get to choose how you want them done) and two Patties. So basically two servings in this plate! Despite the generous portion, the food was just alright. We had loco moco from vert frais (jap French fusion eatery in LIC) recently, and that was so much better. The patty here was neither tender nor juicy. The sauce was pretty average but vert frais' was above average. I was really looking forward to the macaroni salad in the plate but they didn't give a lot (they piled it on some rice so it looked like more than it was). The Mac salad was also a little on the plainer side. Only had a couple of carrot shreds I'm tempted to come back to try their seafood but I have my doubts
