Since 2016, we had used a local HVAC company (the Brothers) that originally installed our system and provided annual maintenance through a service plan and would find that we always needed a new part or thermostat or upgrade when they would come out for a "tune-up" more often than not. When we experienced a refrigerant leak in the outside condenser, we were told that the system could not be repaired and that we needed to replace the entire HVAC system. Before making that decision, we decided to get a second opinion from Cubb-Cooling -- and we are very thankful we did. I called Cubb-Cooling at 4:45 p.m., and Ben Sr. told me he would come out first thing the next morning to evaluate the system. True to his word, Ben Sr. arrived at 7:00 a.m. and had our HVAC system back up and running within about 20 minutes. Ben Sr. was upfront and honest, explaining that if the repair did not hold, he would apply the repair cost toward a new system within two weeks. Fast forward 16 months, and the repair is still holding strong with no issues. We have since had both Ben Sr. and Ben Jr. come out to inspect the system on two occasions, and while they have been honest that the unit will eventually need to be replaced due to its age and the demands of the Central Florida climate, there has never been any pressure to purchase a new system or pay for unnecessary services/parts/upgrades. Cubb-Cooling is a small, family-owned business that truly values honesty, professionalism, and customer care. Their knowledge, responsiveness, and integrity are exactly what you want when dealing with an HVAC company. When the time comes for your HVAC needs, be sure to call Cubb-Cooling. What a mistake! He was condescending, arrogant, rude and apparently unknowledgeable. I live in an older mobile home with an old, inadequate, extremely expensive to run, package unit and seeking to install a mini split system, which I conveyed to Jeff. He referred to my home as a "tin can" and stated I probably wouldn't even see a $10 drop in electrical costs by switching to a mini split. I stated I had been researching for more efficient options which he negated. He almost laughed and told me that switching to an off brand $400 mini split was a mistake. I stated that I was only researching the better brands and he almost laughed again. He also stated I would have to pay about $1500 more for an electrician for whatever he installed, since he wasn't licensed. He laughing told me to keep researching. Had a complete Carrier system installed 5 yrs ago including all ductwork. 4.5 ton 22 sear system…read more We went with a PKG unit as to open house up larger inside. They have serviced this system at least 10 times for a multitude of problems of there own making. Wrong ducting to the rooms at each end of house (ie) 4 bedrooms. Hardly any air movement what so ever. We paid for 8 " ducts but got 6". The latest is it keeps popping a 5 amp fuse in the system, so they said the thermostat wire needed to be replaced ( which was supposed to be done at install of a COMPLETE install. My house is subfloor , wire is about 35' easy to do and they want 600 dollars. I'm done with Cunningham. PAY HEED
